He was primarily invited because, well, there aren't a lot of top zerg players in the world to choose from. This tournament has artosis, dimaga, madfrog, and idra. Outside of korea there are only a few other zergs whose names really mean anything (e.g. Machine, sheth, slush off the top of my head). Couple that with it being an invite tournament and wanting people of various backgrounds and nationality and you get madfrog.
Note: I am not insulting madfrog as a player and he seems to have solid skills, but obviously needs work.
