currently 4:24pm, multiple first round matches yet to be played. edit: 5 to 5 and and still, multiple first round matches yet to be played, blizzard's decision of not giving us lan clearly paying off here. edit2: oh, and yeah, the amateur comp also got cancled at 3:30pm, meaning those poor basterd rocked up, waited around for 4 hours, and got sent home... They may have been the lucky ones if the pro comp gets cancled as well :\

Also, what kind of problems were you guys encountering?

I'm tempted to think that it's a router/firewall problem at Cydus opposed to what was actually said. Fortunately, the guys at Xin Gaming have been good about it and said that the amateurs can get a refund and they'll still let them play the tournament - for free - from home. The time will be posted later @ their home page 5:30 and the first round will be done in ~20; maybe things are on the up?

The same issue did occur with one of the major lan tourneys recently in America. Blizzard have only allowed a certain number of connections to battle.net from one IP simultaneously. Additionally, when people weren't able to log in they sat here pressing Enter over and over again like retards and caused everyone to get temp banned for hammering the login screen - These people are the reason the routers had to be restarted about 3 times to get a new IP.

LOL that's amazing - I would've *loved* to be there to see that! Mind you - although it's annoying for us - I can perfectly understand why Blizzard didn't put LAN in SC2. Reason: KeSPA;; Capitalism > them

I'm betting they didn't all try to log on within 3 minutes of each other and also there is about 24 computers here in just one room that were trying to log in - About 60 computers all up from what I can see.
