How old is BigT? If he is an official caster he should act professional. I have no interest in watching him trying to get back on IdrA.

The irony of this statement when its used to defend Idra is absolutely hilarious.

Idra acts like a pissant child and deserves no respect, especially when he acts like this tournament officials.

lmao do you really believe that

so how did he play in TSL then?

This post is kind of dumb. First of all, in the TSL, all spectators left the game if lag was an issue. Second of all, games in the TSL weren't casted live. Thirdly, Broodwar has less lag than SC2.

The games in TSL still had someone watching. "Stream" lag is a crutch that vintage whiners like Idra use.

And how do all the Koreans manage to play and not suffer from any of this lag, even when casted?

Your post quality is rapidly deteriorating. TSL games did not all, in fact, have someone watching. Koreans manage to play and not suffer from this lag because they are not playing games against each other from across the Pacific Ocean.

I meant when Koreans play in these cross regional events, is your critical thinking that poor?

Please provide me with an example of an intercontinental event (Korean ---> anywhere) that was casted live, not from replays, and did not experience lag issues.

You will find this exercise to be fruitless, and you will check various VODs of Tester in the Altitude invitational and the KotB tournament, only to find that those games were casted from replays. But this will not cause you to concede that you are wrong and I am right, oh no! Instead, you will insult my intelligence and make another factually wrong statement, which I will have to debunk.

You are acting like one streamer somehow greatly increases the lag to unplayable when they are already playing against a NA. Hint: it doesn't. Hes going to have lag if he plays against NA and 1 obs is not going to increase it in any perceptible manner. Tester also has obs

The problem with Idra isn't the core of his arguments, but with the way he presents them. I think we can all understand his frustration with lag. He wouldn't have gotten those 2 penalty points though if he had handled that situation like an adult man.

Being a spec can increase the lag. Why the hell do you think we don't allow any in our events?

American player latency: 25 ms
Korean player latency: 250 ms
American observer latency: 25 ms

Latency bottleneck without obs: 250 ms
Latency bottleneck with obs: 250 ms

From a general networking perspective, it doesn't make sense that it would change something unless there's peer to peer going on (with observers?).

There's actually a minimum latency that is far higher than 25ms. But Korea isn't 250ms, it can spike up to 1000ms.
