Okay, I'm trying to find the schedule for IEM at Gamescom, and I might just be really bad a googling stuff but I can't find it...

Just me, or hasn't the final schedule been announced yet?

Btw.
Trying to figure out if I should take the trip from Denmark to Germany, and which days I would possibly be staying.

As far as I can see it hasn't been officially announced yet, but last time I looked it was scheduled for everyday, starting in the afternoons for the first 3 days, then on the weekend it is on/off with QL

I'll poke around to see if the schedule can be announced at all

Shawn, the ESL's SC2 admin posted in the comments on readmore that games are indeed scheduled to take place from Wednesday to Sunday straight. On Wednesday and Thursday, there are only to be group stage games, and they are going to be played in the afternoon. Friday to Sunday are play-off matches. The end of game operation always coincides with the closure of gamescom.

they will start on wednesday? are you sure? normal visitors are not allowed on wednesday. its only open for the press. would kinda suck if they played some matches then and noone could see it

On the one hand zergs are underrepresented here. On the other hand Canadians are overrepresented. I don't know how to feel about this. Hopefully Idra will have better luck next week.

Can Artosis or Idra lose a game without crying? I mean, I know the matchup is imba right now. Its not unwinnable. In any other professional sport, you would be ridiculed for acting like this. Athletes get jobbed all the time by the refs. Do they sit there and cry about that? No, they realize that they probably shouldn't have let the game come down to what the refs decided. Maybe you did get jobbed. Vent in private.

Don't sit there and call a person pathetic or bad because of their preferred race. When Zerg was clearly the best early in the beta, did terran players talk about how BS it was and BM all over the place?

Seriously, its like you guys plan ahead of time what you're going to say if you lose to a terran.

PanzerDragoon: Agreed. At National ESL, we want to promote a competitive atmosphere but players need to realize that things will get heated and you need to keep your cool. I'm a big MMA fan and when I see these guys in the UFC bet the hell out of each other then shake hands/bow down/hug after wards (there are very few incidents where people complain, usually its a Judges bad call)... that just shows great sportsmanship and I believe pro-gamers can and need to do the same. Games are different than fighting since so many variables can be changed that can unbalance a game.

I'm a believer in adapting to what your opponent is doing. Terran is extremely versatile and can keep your opponents guessing. They are very well rounded. The game is still in an infancy, there will be patches to balance things and make others overpowered for short periods of times, but over time players will come up with new, creative strategies.

Hoping that more zergs will qualify since the majority of qualifiers so far are terran/protoss. Additionally. it would be nice to see Idra qualify since despite all his BM he does bring high level play and quality games. Also, having Artosis get in and Idra not just seems a little funky to me.

it's not like starcraft 2 is a balanced sport like soccer after all, so we can't expect players to be euphoric about it.
It's just sad watching a replay of IdrA playing absolutely superb and still losing to a player who is just not his caliber by far...

hope blizzard takes off their pink glasses soon.
well YES... the game is not out long enough to jump to certain conclusions... but terran being superb over zerg is just obvious.
People saying Zerg has to figure out stuff is true... but Terran/Protoss has to figure out stuff too and they got by far MORE stuff to work with than zerg... so obviously they got more they could do.

IMO there's no terran/protoss who plays their race as impressive as idrA plays zerg currently

The game is only 2 weeks old. I'm sure Blizzard is just waiting on more numbers to see what needs to be tweaked to balance the game. The more numbers, the better.
