The tournament is sponsored.

i'm not disrespecting them or anything because i love watching there vods and they're great guys to listen to but if you say something please do it and if you cant just give us a reason why, don't get our hopes up, i mean the first announcement was on the 25th of july now its the 26th of august so 1 month has gone by, i know it takes a while to invite, seed, setup the tournament but you've got hundreds if not thousands of people waiting on an official statement, i don't think you guys seem to realize how excited everyone has gotten ever since you announced this.
I know you guys have alot on your plates like MLG Raleigh and whatnot but to just come on the forum and say "hey guys theres been a delay we wont be announcing until later on in the week" or something to that extent will calm all the jittery people waiting for this tournament to start. heck even if you're nowhere near a computer you can just get online with your phone or so and post something.
I must say the whole tournament is going to be AMAZING and i cannot wait for the day to come, i know it will be crazy, i know there will be problems, i know for sure there will be delays but with a tournament this big, it's downright impossible to make the tournament run as smooth as you wish.
So please, please, please, give us an update soon on whats to come because I, like the thousands of people waiting, have been checking this thread every few hours for a glimpse of hope to when we will have an official announcement. Posting "We will be making the official announcement for HDH2 tomorrow!" only feeds to the fire of anticipation, and not posting within a few days after just slowly kills that fire quite rapidly. 2 weeks? try 2 months..... for the first round to finish. and no i am not kidding. I really wish these people could move faster. Its great what they are doing for the community. But i hate to be a debbie downer. stop making tournaments and just do something like a ProLeague. It would fit your schedules much nicer. we wouldn't have to wait 5 months to see a game played... It's no fun seeing tournaments that hype you up but don't do anything.. its like waiting for a blizzard game. Except the players have already played eachother 2-3 times before its start-finish lifespan.
This tournament is awesome. It's like a parent (HD and Husky) telling their kid (TL) that they're getting a Ferrari or some other outlandishly expensive and awesome car (in this case, the tournament) for their 18th birthday ("tomorrow"). The car doesn't come on the date, but the kid still knows that its coming in the foreseeable future. What does the kid do? "Wow mom and dad, you guys are such jerks and asses for not giving me my Ferrari. You guys suck!" Just feel lucky that they're taking so much time / stress / effort that they could be using to do something else for us.

that is way different then this lol. Again the parents would say "sorry there has been a delay it'll be here later" instead of not saying anything to the kid. Kind of a bad analogy tbh.
I don't think that many people are mad I mean there are some annoyances as I don't see it being that hard to say "sorry delayed" don't even have to give a reason but something. Its not like it matters anyway everyone just needs to chillax and wait ^^

I think this is because of WeMade, CJ specifically lets Idra play SC2 so it can't be a Kespa thing.

UPDATE 8/24/2010
HDH2 is currently full and ready to go. We will be making the official announcement for HDH2 tomorrow!

Yeah, 3 tomorrows later, here we are. 99% sure they're probably in Raleigh, NC right about now, so I would not expect an announcement until early next week.

I disagree, it could easily be a KeSPA thing. NaDa is a StarCraft poster child. IdrA is just some foreign guy on CJ's practice team who they're letting play SC2 full time (to KeSPA, <3's to IdrA). KeSPA probably couldn't care any less about what IdrA does. On the other hand, allowing one of the biggest names in Brood War history play SC2, what does that say to your fan base that you're trying to maintain?
|
It's in a front page article btw, interview with TLO. TLO says that WeMade didn't get KeSPA's permission. WeMade was okay with it. KeSPA wasn't because they weren't informed ahead of time.
Don't jump to conclusions about what COULD have happened if KeSPA was informed at the right time. They -might- have said yes?

I think this is because of WeMade, CJ specifically lets Idra play SC2 so it can't be a Kespa thing. it's just people with active progaming licenses who cant play.

Wow, that's a lot of games, I wonder if they'll bring on guest casters to help commentate them.
BTW it's definitely not poor behavior for people to expect them to stick to the schedule they set.
|
I thought it was clear that idra plays w/o his CJ shirt so Kespa doesn't that it's him lol.
And I know this tourney is sponsored but the sponsor has yet to be revealed. Nevertheless we have MLG and the GSL to keep us entertained until HDH2 finally happens.

The whole oGs team, im scared for all my fav players. I just hope that the quarterfinals are not all oGs lol

I'm wondering if they will still split the VODS in hundreds of parts of maybe have the decency to upload full games, since they can. :\

This made me laugh
To people who dont know why he doesnt play with the CJ shirt...he's leaving CJ. The contract ends 31/8 and he will leave CJ by then.

From my understanding being a YouTube partner allows you to upload unlimited length video, however you still have a size restriction. As HD and Husky uploadin 1080P, the file size works out to be around the same as if they were still restricted to 10 minutes

Apart from the fact Idra quit CJ to join a non kespa team
