Yeah, with 3000 dollar on the line you wouldn't expect the players to use too crazy strats that they haven't practiced to death. People put a little too much pressure on a player like TLO to constantly play entertaining and creative, especially when there is quite a lot of money and prestige involved.

Wow, these kinds of comments belong on youtube..... Masq beat Idra and White-Ra with easy mode all-in timing attacks (Idra also killed himself trying to baneling bust 1 game). Only 1 game vs White-Ra was a proper macro win, 1 random win against a good player doesn't make you pro. If you look at the top player they usually have a ~70-80% win ratio, being a top tier player doesn't mean you never ever loose.

Yeah I give him props for that, he does find ways to be entertaining no matter what.

Heh. Tester knew that warpgate was pointless vs hydras but he just waited for idra to max on hydras and just killed him with 4 colossus. I thought for a while Idra had him figured out and was going ultras or something with the melee upgrade but i guess not
EDIT: He did scout them but it was like 5 seconds before he next 2 came out and Tester attacked.

This is true. Pros aren't always on their A game, there is always a time when they could be trying something new, aren't too familiar with a situation, or are just playing worse than usual. Masq does seem like a good player, but to say he is better than IdrA and/or WhiteRa is too much without a Bo5+, maybe even multiple Bo5+

Hes a very good player for sure, 20th ranked in phase 2 (starcraftrankings.com), and may do some things in the future, but the people saying omg he deserved to be in this tourney are crazy he has done nothing yet, this tourney is for 8 players who have had results in the beta.

masq is a very good player that beat white-ra in a straight up game. white-ra wasn't necessarily "trying something new." but masq is a good player. there are many good players that weren't invited to this tournament. that's all there is to say.
for anyone that hasn't seen that game, it's quite interesting and i think it shows that toss needs to do something other than gateway units against MMM balls.

why do these gigantic generic threads get so much posts? no one ever reads your post and it's just a big chatroom. pass on any big conglomerate thread.

Yeah, I'm so happy for being able to wake up, make myself a breakfast, and then watch these games. Many thanks to Day9 for uploading the games extremely fast for us Europeans.

Yeah, Day9 is crazy fast with getting everything uploaded. Even though it's at a reasonable time for me to watch live, I've considered not doing that just to circumvent the lag issues because you really don't need to wait long. But alas, I'm too hyped for these games and need to see them ASAP.

I'm of the opposite opinion, as removing these large threads encourages everyone and their mother making a thread about what Day[9] had for breakfast, or this COOL NEW TRICK where you can steal 5 whole minerals from the opponent. In fact, I think TL needs a few more megathreads than it does now...

masq = paramore, for those of you who don't know.
(I THINK)
