He sat on lings/hydras vs collosi. He deserved to get completely stomped like he did.

Tester had good army positioning the whole game. If Idra had gone for a push forcefields would've split his army up and had similar results. By the time Idra's attack would have been possible was the time 2 collosi hit the field.
Like several people said, Idra could have been utilizing better harassment and drops.

Well Idra said he might switch back to Terran... I think it's about time for that, he'll do a lot better if he does.

Great games. Well played by all players. Excited about White-Ra and TesteR winning. Protoss fighting

God you guys are SO nice. Thank you SO much for being supportive despite the technical messups. I've contacted UStream and, as always, they are helping me within 10 minutes lol. I'll get this all sorted out asap so there will be MAXIMUM STREAM QUALITY TOMORROW

At least those games showed 2 ridiculous things in current SC2 metagame :
VRs
FFs + colossi
Those games made me puke, but Tester and whitera are still ridiculously good :<

Instead, he made an all-light army and waited for Tester to get colossi. It was absurd.

Let's say he drops, it's not like Tester needs to send his whole army to defend it. Then, the minute tester has a handful of forcefields and the collossi he's going to win any engagement against Idra's army. Chokes are too small and collosi range is too good.

ya I agree. I feel like Idra should have known the correct timing of his push, just given the sheer number of games and experience he has to pull from against top level players, and the ovies he sacked for scouting.it wasn't quite a 5 minute escape, but at that level timing windows close so quickly that you have to really be on the ball and capitalize, which he simply didn't do.
the first game I think Tester just totally took him off guard, that was a very strange opening.
|
Ya you see how resilient the colossus army is against hydra balls. Seems like nothing died right? That's exactly how I feel against every single Terran army.
|
That is what happens when you have "mechanics" but doesn't have "strategy"
Not a good game at all
|
lol idra is so much overated, and so boring to watch (and to hear btw)...Zero creativity in all his games... So boring... His response in game 1 was pathetic and his 200/200 hydra only army in game 2 get completely and obviously crushed. Very poor...
|
Tester did do a really good job second of controlling the watchtowers, which makes it very hard for Idra to catch him off guard.
|
Then find a new tactic besides going heads up with an army thats more powerful. Idra had plenty of time/minerals/gas to do a nydus or some sort of hurass.
|
<3 day9. Always a job well done, and props to your tech peps. Good play by the Protoss' tonight.

IdrA seemed to have a bit too much respect for his opponent, which made it look like Tester had much larger advantage than he really had. With a little bit more aggression, including in the scouting, IdrA's superior macro could have won.
|
Idra is just so predictable thats why Tester did everything right to beat the standard "Idra play". Example: Pylon on Idras ramp to deny fast expo, the right army comp, everything was done to the style. If Idra thought outside the box or did something different every once in a while he would do better.

Tester never had the advantage until the 4 Colossi popped out. By that time, Idra had already lost due to his passivity.
