Oh and another thing I noted.. whether it was vs Terran or Protoss, whenever Ultras entered the field, the game turned into a one-sided rape. I guess terrans on their part really have to do the TLO thing and go for BCs. Ofcourse zerg has counters to that, but any ground army will just get obliterated by ultras.
Sounds like when colossus come out when Z hasn't got t3 yet =)
Nothing wrong with T or P having to get something else to counter it with. Corrupters counters BCs yeah, but vikings counter corrupters, and then hydra counters vikings, and then tanks counter hydras and then ultras counter.....
Same with toss although but simpler. Ultra counter ground. Voids counter ultra, hydra counter voids, collo counter hydra and we are back again.

OK, Day[9] gets the message and I'm sure he is working as fast as he can to get VODs up. Please do not post here simply to demand VODs, especially not if you are going to be rude about it.

Hope that he will share the replays with us as well

I just hope I can stay unspoiled until I watch the vods =)

Oh, wow... I've been searching up and down for the finals VOD and avoided to come check the last pages of the thread afraid of spoilers.
No rush day9! If you can make it 1080p :D

just a questino about the finals, who do you guys think has been/is more influential in the community as playing styles go between these players.
I was thinking Tester, since he basically spawned the fact that most protoss nowadays go for the 2gate pressure expo against zerg and basically cancelled the zerg fast expand. and also showed the viability of the forge fe when done by someone with good micro (fe etc).
While I do believe that Idra is quite skilled, I don't think that his games have the particularly excitement factor since he is usually into macroing up an army and taking the econ lead (very flash like), while tester/ITR/TLO (in someways, but I think in a lesser level than tester and ITR) have been more innovative and creating new strategies paving the way for some more micro oriented builds (a la boxer)

Will there be VOD's of the actual party as well? Cuz that would be one long VOD lol
It would be cool if someone (*wink wink) edited it to show only the highlights so we could have good memories of SC2 "0th birthday" and the party to celebrate it! XD
I'm also wondering if pictures from the event will be posted somewhere... there were a couple of photographers there! XD

While this is somewhat true, you really need to check out the series with idrA v TLO and idrA v Tester in the finals. I'd especially recommend seeing the idrA v Tester round of 8 series, then watch the finals series. idrA adapts beautifully in the finals; you can really tell he thought about and practiced against the very things he lost to in the round of 8, and was prepared in the finals.

I do wish that Idra would incorporate a six pool into his build order, and some more unorthodox builds, no tonly will that set up his standard economic play to become more potent due to the chance that this all in rush might occur, it will give us fans the excitement factor that we miss from bw (in my opinion what makes it so great), those tense moments when a terran is bunker rushing and watching the micro battle between drones and scvs/marines to finish. or bbs against a protoss, to me these are the most exciting games to watch and is what i want to see.
I honestly thought one of the most exciting moments in this tournament was the match between tester and ITR, where tester somehow spotted the shadow of the factory or something, that was the difference between a win and a loss. that fine line is the excitement in the game. I understand that people think of this as gimmicky and cheese or whatever, but it depends on the players. people don't hate boxer for his bunker rushes and odd builds, but everyone hated flash when he cheesed bisu in that one starleague a long time ago. I am the same, I would rage if someone beats bisu's 1gate core with bbs, but i would still be excited to watch and see who micros better.

Thanks for the excellent excellent party Day! I tried staying up for as long as I could be I ended up falling asleep during the IdrA and Qxc Bo5. This is no criticism on your casting, it was just I was absolutely KOed even before I started watching the stream to begin with.
I know who won the KotB now thanks to the spoilers in this thread thanks to reading comments to the end of this thread. I wish people would use the spoiler tag!
Anyway I am looking for to the IdrA and Qxc VODs being put up and hopefully the full stream rip of the event in its' entirety. Thanks for all your hard work and thanks to all the other people who made it possible. I really really wish I could have been there!

I doubt it, when you watch the replay you're not being reminded of the sponsor over and over. Therefore you must watch the VOD.
