I rewatched game 3 of Idra vs TLO and I'm still impressed by Idra that game. He lost well over 30 drones throughout the entire game. (20 before his drone drill).

I still don't get why people classify Idra as US/West. He plays in Asia, he goes through same practice schedule, plays on the Asia server. So he's basically "Korean" since everyone knows your actual nationality has no effect on your performance.

There are many huge factors in culture and language that could contribute to people being better or worse at starcraft.
The culture you are raised in plays a big part of how you think, solve problems, react under pressure, or how hard working you are.

For instance, there was a blog recently explaining why children who learn an Asian language as their first have an easier time learning math because of the language structure of their numbers.

Even Sangho said he was impressed by how hard working Idra was ("like a korean") because foreigners before him haven't been.

I have had to post again, what a load of nonsense this is, in football terms if a team was playing over two legs it makes sense to talk about how the first leg went analyse it and see if the same thing will happen or if a team can counter act certain things... you can use this analogy in any sporting event.

This Beta tournament is no different.

If you don't want it to be spoiled don't open the links until you get to them - watch them in order. It really is that simple. The way the OP is laid out I really can't understand how anyone is having difficulty with this - Having said that people will always find something to complain about...

*edited to actually make sense

Sorry but it does not add that much context that you go "whoppie dooo, it was good he revealed the games in the OTHER group. Now I can watch this game in a different perspective".

It's fine that you disagree and think it gives you something that you know the standings in group B when watching group A. Going at it with a "what a load of nonsense" seems like my point of view was so far off you could just easily trash my simple request from Day[9] which it certainly was not. I didn't ask for something that big, but something that I think many would actually appreciate even if they don't "complain" as you put it. What you call "complaining" I call constructive feedback as I hardly came across as arrogant or disrespectful to Day[9]. I appreciate what he does but doesn't mean I won't give him feedback on his casting skills even if I am not nearly as good as him.

Lets put it this way. If Day[9] would not reveal the other games when watching current game I don't think there would be posts on this thread going "Day[9] you are good caster and all. But why aren't you giving us the spoilers in the beginning of the game? You really need to start giving us the other results as the casting feels so much deeper then and these games feels so much more exiting".

genetics have a (small, but significant) factor in the strengths and weaknesses of different ethnicities, its not purely environment and culture

Can you give an example of sports where racial(asian/caucasian and such) genetics play a part? not including body size ofc

I was really glad to see Idra performing well, despite that TLO is my favourite player. That counterattack was really magnificent.

I also hope that this will silence all the imba talk arround here. I think the game is really nicely balanced and when some custom maps will hit the scene it will only get better.

good day, svizcy

Race can play a role in competitive sports. We're talking about f.e. 5% that already make a big difference.

Zerg winning one series will not silence the "Terran is imba" crowd whether it is true, or not. Smarten up, people.

Was really impressed with the Idra-TLO games, Idra played so well in that last game when the massive push arrived. I swear he went from like 7 roaches to about 25 :D And doing a drop was a brilliant way to finish it, absolutely

Can't wait for the finals, and I'm so glad that all 3 races are represented ^^

I hope it does. I seriously hope that this series showed that zerg is not that bad. Don't forget that TLO burned a lot of zerglings and drones from Idra (game 3).

In different parts of the world people (ie. jungle dwellers in SA, and bushmen in africa). The males in the tribes are nearly as fit as world class athletes with no prior training based on their culture and how they are always moving. Some people pull these guys give em professional training and they are extremely fast.

On another note, I dont want tester to win. I want Idra or qxc to win but i want ITR over Tester

edit: and i laugh at all those people who said qxc wasnt the same caliber as these guys and would get owned.

Tried to download it from blip.tv?
There is a "download" button under the video.

Second option is to wait when it appears in Day9's youtube channel. He is uploading the games there but in a little slower rate.

1st place from Group A should play second place from Group B in the first elimination round. Didn't anybody watch the World Cup? It's silly that qxc and ITR play two rounds against each other in a row, and there is no incentive to get 1st place in the group as opposed to 2nd place, as they play each other anyway.

Oh well. :S next time...
