So with the recent announcement of the SC2 release date the beta has to be in it's final cycle, right? What if it ends while the tourney is still happenin'? What happens then?

You guys should make a packet for the folks over at G4. Send some of the korean footage of mass attendance, some of your pop numbers. Those folks are ahead of the the curve and I'm sure their numbers are good. This is just the start folks... we passed 'novelty' critical mass on gamers about two years ago. With sponsors inside games, Game's occupying superbowl ad space frequently, there are folks with the networks that will sponsor to capture and hold a demographic like this.
You need a front man talking to those folks, like now

I thought the beta basically goes on up until release, so there should be plenty of time? And as someone else said, they can just continue after release.

it's not necessarily true that the beta is playable on battle.net right up until retail release. Its beneficial for Blizz to shutdown beta for the last 10 (or so) days, to help smooth over the retail release

Why not add the new Incineration Zone to the mapset? It's new, it looks awesome, and it can provide viewers with pro insight on how to play this map. I recommend taking out metalopolis, since its a bad map with no real interesting dynamic, too much stuff clogging the map, and generally a cheap-looking map.
Also, increasing the prize pool is hella lame. You had a set prize pool in the beginning and now you are increasing it. It's basically like changing the rules in the middle of a tournament. Had the players known that, maybe they would have practiced harder?

ever figure it might not be HD and Husky putting more money into it, but in fact is their sponsor throwing more down because they want their tournament to be "bigger".
It's not like the prize pool is increasing because anyone else is putting money into it. Husky, HD, putting money down on their own tournament after it's all been announced? Why would they do that?
Now...on the other hand, the sponsor might be getting all the advertising they were looking for, and maybe they want to appear in one of the videos, or have a feature spot in the RO4 to talk about their product and their tournament. Low and behold the sponsor throws down some more cash to keep everybody happy with the extra work, and the HDH goes on.
People then complain because the sponsor decided to doll out some more money, and the players who haven't won are kicking themselves for not "practicing harder" because $1500 prize wasn't enough to try their best.

It's the sponsor that have donated more money, presumable because they are happy with the amount of traffic they have gotten so far. Bad, bad sponsors! Why can't they think about the players... *rolls eyes* Are you kidding?

Heh. I've been ok with the criticism on my game sense, on my way of saying 'zerging', on how we have the tournament set up, on how long the tournament is, on our map choices, on our player choices, on how we have the brackets set up, on our livestreams, on how long it takes to upload the videos, on casting too many games in one day, and many, many other criticisms.
But complaining about another 1000 added to the prize pool? Really? Lol....
I think we've made it pretty obvious we have many events planned for the future. To say this is in any way hurting current or future events is completely absurd. Our sponsor has really enjoyed this tournament and is glad to see the excitement of all the fans.
