Because they behaved like children. if idra is gonna dodge the match cause of the patch (if that's even allowed?) then he can use this as an excuse to not tell smuft as soon as possible and make smuft waste a couple days off poker practicing sc for nothing. someone who isn't banned and talks to idra let us know whats going on asap?
They all have each other's MSN addresses. Contact is not an issue. You aren't their parents.

How exactly? It is no different than betting on other sports, which happens all the time.

betting would make it grow if anything

yepp. the qualifying before was last patch though.

The last ~30 pages is pure gold, why isn't the thread spotlighted? I only stumbled upon it because it was 58 pages instead of the usual three among SC2 tourneys.

holy crap this thread has been the biggest shitfest ive read in ages. It made me realize one thing though. You really have to be an immature moron to play a game for living, be it poker or SC. The parts of people talking about maturity and sharing anecdotes of some poker pros betting for millions of dollars about becoming a vegetarian really sealed the deal.

Nicely done diehilde. Generalize everyone and their profession as "immature morons" when they decide to play poker/sc.
Well done dude.

Well done dude. I thought it was obvious that my comment only refers to the majority of said group of ppl. There are always exceptions to the rule. I guess these exceptions (mostly) dont post in this thread though. It isnt really a far fetched assumption to say that (most) people who do nothing but play a game are immature and lack a broader perspective. This thread delivers proof after proof. Ofc I dont know every god damn progamer of every game on earth, but I know a fair share of individuals I consider as mature personalities who decided against trying to become pro at a game when they had the chance, cus they value other things in life higher than playing a single game all day long, even if u get rich while doing so (only in poker). To most ppl, life is just more than a game or $$$, and imo these are the more mature ones. Read this thread again and tell me you honestly think 99% of the posts from these pros/ex-pros or whatever allow any other conclusion than the one I made.

I guess that means most athletes are immature morons too, right? Clearly your post indicates this. We might as well extend it to be "most people who do one profession for a living are morons". I guess Flash, Bisu, Jaedong, Boxer, Reach, (insert more progamer names here) are also morons.
If those guys are morons... what does that make you?

Right, because your life is much more worth while to earn just enough money to get by doing a mindless nine to five job rather than making tons of money doing something that is fun and that you loved enough to dedicate your life to.

On the other hand, there are people like you who think they get to decide what constitutes a worthwhile or 'mature' life. That's quite pretentious and arrogant, though I doubt anyone on these forums actually cares about your analysis of their hobbies and lifestyle.
