The "GG Rule" - The losing player must signify his defeat by typing "GG" before leaving the game. Failure to do so will result in the disqualification of you and your team from the tournament and a temporary ban from future events. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can we call this the Idra rule? Please? In seriousness, though, I think more tournaments should make this a rule. I think with SC2 there is a real opportunity for countries outside of Korea to become truly involved in esports. I mean, if there is someone who works in the advertising department for a big company, how can you not see the potential in these bigger tournaments? When there is already big money tournies in the BETA stages of a game. But back to my original thought, if foreigners actually want to have a real esports scene, they need to start getting serious about their tournies. Now I don't know if forcing a GG is the perfect way to do this, but it is a step in the direction of "professionalizing" the foreigner esports scene. So good work on that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- its utterly retarded, it entirely defeats the purpose. people get upset about it because its like a handshake after a sports match, it shows respect for your opponent. mandating it makes it meaningless. "oh idra said gg this time he must respect his opponents now!" no, i still think theyre terrible and retarded, i just have to say it to get the money. Yeah, forcing a "gg" is not necessarily the best way, I am just trying to make the point that it would be good for the development of foreigner esports to have a greater level of professionalism in the tournaments. Not because that is better for the game, but because it will be easier to get bigger sponsorships if the whole thing feels more "professional." Like, lets say some big company is looking into sponsoring an American tourny, so they watch some of the previous games and in the finals the players are chatting it up and treating it like any old ladder game. To me that sends a bad message about how serious the community actually takes SC. Anyways, just my thoughts, wasn't really trying to attack you for not gging or anything like that.

I think I'm going to be staying up late for this tournament, hooray for weekends.
