Sometimes, if I've made a spore but no threat of air attack exists at the moment, moving them to a key spot w/ a spine crawler if you suspect DT or Ghost shennanigans can be nice. Burying them in a pile of puking overlords helps to hide them, and i've actually managed to passively kill a cloaked ghost w/ that trick before ![]() I'm just a gold newbie tho, so maybe these tactics don't work in upper levels of play *shrug*

LOL How would that be overpowered? A spine colony is weaker then an ultralisk, which can be loaded into an overlord. If you just made it take up the amount of space of the overlord (1 - 1 ratio) it might be cool since it is a lot less resource wise... interesting : )

If you treat them as a kind of shields for drones in that respect then it helps to smile if you see one bleedng or one pop... and think "phew, that could of been 8 drones". The other pluses are small such as dt detection, strategic placement to help stop ground units into your drone line. I have occasionally used them as a ramp extension with an evo chamber and one spine crawler behind it to again act as a melee shield against the crawler. The fact they can be repositioned is gold, one ocassionally shifted around the base is handy for stopping toss players observers haviing free reign. Oh one thing thats popped into my brian is potential battering rams for baneling plays.. scuttle them towards destination to attract fire away from your green kamikaze heroes.
