Was it simply his plan to make stuff at that time anyway, or did he know what his opponent was doing?
Without watching the game, I can say that through my own limited experience I'm starting to become able to see a small amount of information with my scouting worker, and determine pretty accurately what opening build my opponent is using. Add in a lot more experience and practice and I could get the timing of specific pushes down quite well. I have a feeling he just predicted what was coming and knew the timing of it purely through said experience and practice.
