I could see it being useful for faking out terrans who are trigger happy with their EMP. Fake them out a few times with single hallucinated templar, if they start wising up then use a real one and feedback the ghosts. Maybe it could also be useful as a sort of double tech-fake, tricking opponents into thinking you aren't getting certain tech that you are infact getting at a proxy.

You must really suck at using force field. Lets say you have 8 sentinels with full mana. Then you cast 8*4 = 24 forcefields Great job there. trying to wall off whole the map? Ye usually you would cast some shields but still lots of forcefields to cast. Besides 4 probes is many wasted shots for your opponent. And lets say those are immortal or tank shots. Wouldn't you prefer not getting hit than being hit and be able to pull back behind your camper shield?

You skirmish and lay down a few here, a few there to break up an army. Probably very few players actually have 8 fully charged sentries at once. If you use sentry's for hallucinate, you are using up 100/100 + x * 50/100 worth of minerals/gas just to make copies of a unit that do no damage and die 2x as quickly. I think it would be better in most cases to use that money to create real units that do real damage. The only way I can see straight up hallucination tanks working is if you are using the sentry's for another purpose at the same time, such as anti air vs muta. Only in situations like that do indeed have excess energy with nothing else to use it on, and I imagine mass hallucination of either the sentry or stalker would really take a lot of of the mutalisk bite.

Are you just sitting in your base doing nothing? That's not a realistic scenario you have there.

You'd think that a big fake drop would be good for sowing confusion.
