It would be good if the "big" events like GSL and MLG could get separated in the calendar from all the various tournaments that few people really care about.

edit: also BW events need their own section on the calendar as well.

I want one mega tournament, it seems like there are 3-4 big tournaments that all have the same Prestige, reward, etc. attributed to them and different winners in all of them. We need a CHAMPION!!!!!!
There is no such thing as perfection, only improvement.

Actually I was a big fan of seeing ton of events, but now that I think about it... We dont need that many events, we need to make the big events BETTER not just add on events every month or so.
If you thing about, other sports like succor do the same, they have regional cups and a world cup.

I stopped following SC2.

Everything related to SC2 became boring after a while.

I say the more the better but to many big things is not the better. I have no problem with as many "low tier" tournaments but to many GSL, TSL, MLG, IEM size tournaments will be bad because all they will do is split the viewer ship.

tournaments like dreamhack and mlg = the more the better. playing over the course of a weekend is something i can get into. the drama is palpable, you can hear the fans cheer, it's awesome.

tournaments like NASL, and to a lesser extent gsl and tsl = getting stale. watching people compete over the course of a month is not a bad thing, but i don't find myself investing any emotion. i don't remember how the player i'm watching won last round b/c that was a week ago. i don't remember how the brackets shaped up b/c there's another tournament with the exact same players confusing me.

The more the better right now. While eSports is in the developing stages, it is far better to have too many than not enough. Over time, as the tournaments develop, the ones that are not up to par will be weeded out, or at least characterized as a lesser tournament which the top pros don't really care to be a part of. But I think that is a really good thing as well because there should be an abundance of tournaments that players just below the pro level can participate in.

The more the merrier. Not only is there plenty of content, but now the people providing the content will be forced to pay more attention to quality or risk losing viewers who now have several other alternatives. More content + better content can only be a good thing : D

I dont think theres too many events, its just hard to keep up with ... there needs to be a system or one place where you can find all the information... i know there already is, but its more like you have to look for it? There needs to be somekind of weekly wrap up or something which lets you know

its okay that there are weekly tournaments for unknown to get known. The amount of big tournaments are also okay, i feel like the hype dissappears if there's a new big tournament everyweek. Like i got tired of watching NASL.

I won't have my fill until there's a MLG/DH/HSC event on every weekend.

There's too many to keep track of but it's not like I mind. I just track the big stuff

I agree that there are way too many tournaments being advertise here in TL, way-too-much!. Maybe TL should raise it's criteria for a "tournament" classification.

I agree with this. I also would like to see major tournaments have a separate SC2 Tourneys section of the forum. It's sometimes time consuming to find the LR threads from even just 1 or 2 days ago.

Too many, I used to follow Craftcups and Go4sc2s, I dont have time for that anymore. I´d also like to see a distinct line between BIG events and smaller events. So if the OSL finals is going on it will be in BIG text in its own section and small tourneys will be in the regular spot, that way more people from SC2 will feel inclined to check out BW-games IMO!

I would say ideally there should be enough that unless someone dedicated all-day everyday they could not watch them all. This is good because it ensures almost all levels are types of players (personality wise) have something to enjoy. And for the hard-core ones it creates the kind of competition in top-level events needed. If there is not enough events, such that someone can with a minimal investment in a week watch all top-level events, there isn't necessarily incentive towards event runners to continue improving quality. At one point it was essentially just GSL, and we need to continue to move away from that. The more the better definitely sums it up perfectly. Basic economics really - competition is good, but of course, we don't want so much that consumers can't even use all that is supplied.
