Nada because he already got code S. but i voted huk, because it was a pvt that he lost in, and he has been very good in that MU.

I've got to say Tester. The fact that he is one of the most eligible for the Protoss crown coupled with the very poor showing from Protoss so far makes him an interesting talking point for Protoss balance.

I haven't been following the qualifiers much. From this list, the answer is obviously NaDa. Who took him out, by the way?

Same, but none are as bad as the HD/Husky TLO Fanboys. They actually thumps up comments saying TLO is the #1 in the world.

Tie between NaDa and InCa. Obvious sentimental favorite, but Inca is a two time qualifier, with good results in the tournament proper. HuK, was probably an even bet to qualify, after just four days. Given a week, he probably would've qualified, or else his placement on this poll would be more reasonable.

I'm surprised Sangho is in last place. I know Nada and Tester are popular and obviously good, but for many foreigners this was their first GSL qualifier. A bit surprised InCa doesn't have more votes either.

Have you seen this guy play in GSL1 truly epic
So sad he failed to qualified again
I'm not really surprise for Nada, i mean GSL2 was an easy road for him ( I'm still a fan though)
Hope for a better play in GSL 2011

Really?? Not more votes for Loner? He was the Terran master of last GSL! He actually macros and don't rely on marine rushes like FoxeR.

How can HuK be third?

I voted for HuK simply because I wanted to see a mothership rush at GSL3.

I am very surprised that Nada was eliminated.

I am also slightly surprised that Select also did not qualify.

Tester and Nada are close to equal upsets for me, but I think Tester pulls this one out because this is the second GSL he's failed to qualify for, and he's such a good player. q.q

You know, I love Huk and am a fan, but he has been in kind of a slump lately so I wasn't really surprised he failed to qualify.

I have to go with Tester, and by proxy all the toss, really disappointed at the lack of toss this season.

man, I'm kinda bummed Loner didn't make it, not because I'm a huge fan, but because now the 1.1 billion Chinese people don't have someone to cheer for

but at least he should easily have A-class, so we'll see more of him next year

Sangho was definitely the biggest upset for me, as he REALLY impressed me in the games he had in GSL2, like if he solidified his game just a touch that he'd be a monster. Everyone else was expected barring NaDa, who oddly enough impressed me just slightly less than SangHo

Nada easily.

I think Huk just gets votes because he's one of the great white hopes. Looking at the foreigner list, there were no surprises at all as the ones who qualified are easily the strongest out of all the ones that attempted.

I'm disappointed that HuK, Loner, NaDa, Tester, and Sangho all didn't make it in. I am most surprised for NaDa though. I remember watching Sangho last season thinking that he actually had a shot at getting to the Ro4, but obviously I was wrong, so I can't say for sure who the most skilled of the bunch is... probably NaDa though based on past performance. Tester didn't even make it in to GSL2 so...

I am dissapointed that NaDa didn't qualify, I've been a fanboy since day one in BW T_T.
Biggest surprised though have to go the Tester, he's a monster protoss and not qualifying 2 times in a row is hella shocking.
I can't believe HuK is 2nd on the poll. He's just overhyped. He's not that good compared to the koreans.

Wow I can't believe all the names on the list of people who didn't qualify. The competition is getting insane for gsl and I expect the round of 32 to be even more stacked than it was in gsl2 compared to 1.

I was really set on SeleCT making it.

Thought he would just shred in his bracket.

I am looking for the "Ensnare" button, but I can't find it. The only bigger upset I could see as far as a Terran goes is if ITR/HopeTorture didn't qualify. Ensnare would be the next most consistent terran in the GSL so far, no? Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't he like #4 or #5 in the points thing for GSL ranks? Semis GSL1, RO16 GSL2 is a very good showing.

I only voted for NaDa over Tester, just because Tester failed last time, and the pressure might have gotten to him a little bit too much, compared to NaDa coming off of a RO8 performance. Even though Tester has been wrecking in practice and in-house tournaments, he has turned results comparable to Clide, who was knocked out in the RO64 convincingly after a RO16 exit in GSL1. I think he is currently stuck with the "Good in practice" tag.

Tester.

Nada wasn't all that impressive when he played in Season 2. Got lucky with the draw.

Tester on the other hand plays a race that's really struggling right now, and just hasn't had the results in GSL.

Sangho was the biggest upset to me. I was hoping he'd be there to rise and lead us... He was such a solid BW player... kinda.

No offense to HuK, I love the guy, but how the hell can people vote HuK as a bigger surprise than Tester, InCa and Sangho? That's abit absurd _ATM_.

Well I'm really disappointed with toss so far so none of those were surprising but blind liquid fanboiism caused me to vote for HuK.

Ummm I'd say Inca.. for obvious reasons.. He's made it to the Ro8 in both GSL1 and GSL2, and is a very very good Protoss.

I was surprised that Nada and Inca didn't make it, but thats the only thing that surprised me.

How can Huk be second? - Im a huge Huk-fan, and i hoped he would qualify, and i hoped he would even pass r64, but its not surprising that he didn't

I would count Loner as a semi-upset.

Out of the alternatives, not counting Ensnare etc.

Tester. A high profile player randomly dropping out of the qualifiers once is understandable, but twice in a row? That is a real upset.

Huk 2nd? He just arrived in korea, would be more suprised if he qualified after just arrivning. Pretty sure he'll make it next time but this poll is just weird. Choosed between Tester and InCa, both really suprising that they didnt make it.

Though Huk wasn't as much of an upset, I would've really liked to have seen him qualify. =(

I think it's a shame that Tester didn't get through again but after last time I can't say I was so surprised. He made it to the ro8 in the first season so he still has Code S, right?

My vote went to Nada, because after going straight for Code S last season I was expecting him through to the ro64 without issue.

Wow Sangho so low. I felt like he was the most solid of all the listed players.
Inca, Huk, loner, and select not too big of a surprise. Great players but I feel there is something lacking.
I really can't be surprised at Tester since I haven't seen him play in like 2 months and he did get knocked out last qualifier.
NaDa super surprising since he looked really good and has the experience.
Sangho was super safe so I thought he would be a shoo-in.

My heart says NaDa but my brain says Tester. NaDa is still relatively new to SC2. Tester has been a beast since beta day 1. Him failing to qualify twice in a row shows how tough these quals can be.

Yeah.. NaDa is a big surprize. And I cheered for HuK to qualify, the match up with the terran was good for him, but scrap stations sucks.
Anyhow the biggest surprise for me is SelecT. He is a really good, skilled player, and i thought his style will fit GSL. I voted SelecT.

I'm not surprised Tester, Loner and Huk didn't make it, because they all have one thing in common: dropping sets they really shouldn't be losing. All very good, but just not consistent enough to guarantee a spot. Good enough to? Definitely, but surprising they didn't when they have to get the 6 wins? Not really.

#1 for me is easily Ensnare, and he's not even an option. Otherwise, I'd put InCa and SangHo at the top of the list, just because along with Ensnare, they play consistently solid, so all 3 of them I'm surprised they didn't make it. After those 3, NaDa and SeleCT.

Tester by far. He is again out way to early. Not sure what is happening to him, i really would like to see the vod's from his game. In S1 it seems he was almost cheese proof. It seemed to be the only way to get at least a game off of him.

Wasn't ITR also playing almost nonstop with tester before his match agains nextgenius.Should probably say enough for his skill. Big upset for all our protoss fans

I'm gonna miss inca this GSL. His play has caught my attention from season one. While players like nada and tester seemed like shoo-ins, I was bummed to hear about inca.

I chose to answer this one as "Which of these upset you the most". And that is HuK.

Meh. Nada is great and all but honestly what this tournament needs is MORE GOOD PROTOSS. So I voted Tester. GSL3 NEEDS Tester I would have voted Huk but..... eh, he wouldn't hade made it as far as Tester would have.

Oh and Loner... wtf he did so well last season!

GSL needs far more foreigners. I'm pretty tired to see that almost every player is korean, so I voted HuK.

Really now? Nada and Boxer have the raw talent to make them succeed when the game is so fresh and new. They are true pioneers when it comes to RTS and you saw that when they made the top 8 in their first major tournament appearance. Such bait. Seriously.

Loner for me, as he was doing very well during the past weeks. Obv Nada is much of an upset, too, and Testere were much of it if he didn't already upset every1 last time

Boxer and Nada are pioneers in strategy, but unless they come up with an actual strategy, I am not sure if they are better in other terms than some of the A team progamers of modern day and age. People like MVP and Sangho could eclipse them in 2-3 months, and dare I say, people like FruitDealer and Tester are not worse or better than them.

Nada has the name, Nada has the fame. But something is not really clicking right now. Boxer is playing well, but nothing to write home about. There's a mass of 10-20 Terrans, and none of them stand-out clearly. If I have to choose, I will choose MVP and Foxer right now, they impressed me much more than Nada and Boxer. Though I noticed Nada's signature macro style. If it clicks for him, he can be a stand-out Terran once again.

Coming back to the original question, I was disappointed with Tester's elimination. I am a big fan, but even besides that, Protoss are doing horrible. The only stand-out player for me is Tester among protoss, so I was hoping he can win despite disadvantages of race.

How can people vote for HuK over Sangho, Loner, NaDa, Tester, or Inca?? Honestly why is he on a list of primarily such good players, I would have been surprised if he did qualify.

I voted Loner because I thought he was super impressive in the last GSL, having great macro and micro. Although, I'm most surprised that oGsEnsnare didn't qualify, although he for some reason isn't on the list

Sang-Ho has played better than the others listed in previous GSL's, him getting knocked out in the pre-lims was a major surprise to me. And I do mean played better, not just "I got placed against what should've been a Ro16 opponent in the Ro64."

NaDa and Loner not making the cut also took me back, but not as much as Sang-Ho.

Tester's play has been shaky at best in SC2, it isn't surprising when he fails to qualify time after time. No offense to the legend that is Tester, but this poll isn't, "Who did you want to win the most?".

Can't say I'm surprised in any of the names. Not like any of them would've been favorite to go past first round imo. No, nada wasn't worthy of ro8 last time. I'd have expected sangho and tester to go on, based on lot of hype they've had but haven't really seen many games of theirs either.

Ok I guess inca was expected to go around ro16 again. When it comes to not qualifying, he might be the top candidate.

Definitely voting Tester for this one, he's shown amazing games in the events in between GSL's, like beating Nada today in PvT which is just amazing considering how unbalanced that matchup is. Nada has amazing mechanics but he doesn't understand sc2 strategy as well as other pros yet which clearly shows in his strategies, so i'm not surprised he didn't qualify.

What happened to Tester? I don't follow the SC2 scene that much but I remember hearing that he was one of the best Protoss players in the world a few months ago and now this is like the second GSL he hasn't qualified for, right?

Loner for me. One of the strongest players in China gone before he can even start. SelecT is surprising as well seeing as he's on par with the other foreigners who qualified.

Looks like Huk's fanboys have attacked this poll.

Even Nada is relatively unproven in SC2.

I'm honestly not surprised that SangHo is in last place despite clearly being one of the best players. A lot of foreigners may not know him as well as players such as (obviously) HuK and SeleCT and Tester. Nada was pretty impressive in GSL2, and combine that with him being an SC1 legend, it's no surprise that he's getting a lot of votes (42% surprised the hell out of me, though).

The reason why I think it's unsurprising that SangHo is that since we only get one vote, he's being overshadowed by Tester. They're both great Protoss players (who are even on the same team), so when it comes down to a poll like this, it turns to who's more well known, which would be Tester.

Same, but none are as bad as the HD/Husky TLO Fanboys. They actually thumps up comments saying TLO is the #1 in the world.

You know, Lim Yo-Hwan also said that TLO was the most impressive Starcraft 2 player he'd seen.

No he didn't. He just liked that he used nukes in his game.

Creative? Probably. Most impressive? No.

What! No InControl option in this poll. He played great, just as good as any of these guys. Just to be fair, though, all the foreigners played well, especially Huk; but, I think InControl deserved to get in, he was in the zone.

TeamLiquid should post a disclaimer stating that the fanboys should refrain from voting, judgment clouding is detrimental to polling.

Yet I'm quick surprised how many clueless hukboys actually browse TL.

Nada by far given he made it to the Ro8 last go around...

HuK in second over the others too? Really? Not saying he's not good or nuffin but I didn't really expect him to make it (or Jinro for that matter) so I wasn't too surprised when someone who started as a Ladder Player didn't make it... Just shows how many fanboys there are here... Shouldnt InCa, Loner, ect be above him atleast? lol...

How anyone can vote for Huk or Select from this list is beyond me. This was their first attempt to qualify for the GSL, while everyone else had already qualified before. Plus they're both foreigners (yes, I realise Select is actually Korean - you know what I mean) with only mixed success in non-Korean tournaments. I'm just as disappointed as everyone else that they didn't qualify, but you can't call this an upset when there was no reason to expect it in the first place. Either of them getting to the round of 64 would've been a pleasant surprise, as it was for Haypro and Ret.

Huk definitely wasn't an upset. Nada definitely was, and so was tester for the second time in a row. Tester is so good I don't know wth is going on, unless he's been unable to keep up at the S Class level. Haven't seen him play lately due to lack of major games.

everyone on this list is an upset, do half of you people know what an upset is? its when someone who is expected to qualify, does not. i expected everyone on this list to qualify because they are all extremely good players and are very entertaining to watch. but they didnt, UPSET! stop acting like huk doesn't deserve to be on this list, because he is actually good, and he does work hard to be where he is at. He was a huge upset because hes a crowd favorite and because he is good, just like everyone else on this list

There's a crap ton of player hating and flaming. imo upsets are based on personal opinion. especially in the game of SC, where even the best can lose. A good baseball player has a batting avg of like .300. a good SC player has a win avg of .50-.60. So lets be honest upsets in SC are very much based on personal preference considering almost every player can(not saying its always true) have a 50% chance of losing and mostly every player who tried in the quals, was an excellent player. So can upsets honestly have that much of a statistical meaning is SC? Besides every player on that list is damn good so...

I voted for HuK simply because I was upset that he didn't make it, not because I considered it an upset. I also thought I would be far in the minority for picking him with Nada, Tester, Inca, Loner, and Sangho all on the list.
You know what unit really has balance problems? Colossi. Why, they look like they could be blown over in a stiff wind!

everyone on this list is an upset, do half of you people know what an upset is? its when someone who is expected to qualify, does not. i expected everyone on this list to qualify because they are all extremely good players and are very entertaining to watch. but they didnt, UPSET! stop acting like huk doesn't deserve to be on this list, because he is actually good, and he does work hard to be where he is at. He was a huge upset because hes a crowd favorite and because he is good, just like everyone else on this list

We know what an upset is, but just because we WANT HuK to qualify (as do i) doesnt mean he is expected to, and I'm sure most people agree Huk had a small chance to qualify.

I'm not bashing Huk, hes a good player, but judging from his play lately I would put nada or inca or even tester over him.

This is more the general consensus from what Ive seen. People that cry "HUk Basher!!!" are the same people who pointlessly attacked InControl for saying Select shouldnt use the same BO every match, even though he admitted select was a very good player.
