The problem is that, at the moment, an SC2 power rank would be pretty useless and probably highly inaccurate. GSL will be the first tournament to base a power rank on imho, because it's the only event where all the best "foreigners" and Koreans face each other. However, GSL isn't even close to finished yet.

WHERES THE POWER RANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. Flash (why so good?) 2. Jaedong (why so good?) 3. Fantasy (Take out Flash and you have a near perfect month for Fantasy going 16-2. 18-7 with Flash -_-) 4. Light (all his games were TvZ and he won most of them.) 5. ZerO (epic STX run) 6. Stork (for reaching the semis, ithink Stork and free should be ranked atleast here. I wish there was a 3rd place match in the OSL/MSL ;;.. a Bo5 without Jaedong or Flash for once.) 7. free (see Stork) 8. Action (Ro8 OSL) 9. Kal (WCG 3rd place and solid improvement from last month) 10. EffOrt (;;.. 11-12 isnt great.)
It seems EVERYONE dropped the ball at the end of the month but its really cause all they played were in the OSL/MSL/WCG. Most of these guys died to Jaedong and/or Flash (The only one who didnt was Zero who won vs Jaedong).
I can see the PR coming out after the OSL Finals now that i think about it. Plexa probably wants that to decide #1.

3-4-5 Should be Stork, Fantasy, and Light
Not necessarily in that order, of course. Stork and Light actually made us believe that they could legitimately smash Jaedong in a best of 5. Same with Fantasy to Flash. ZerO cannot say that. Nor can free quite either. Of course Effort can say that he can beat Flash, but his record this month says he should be below Free and ZerO. Sea deserves mention for dual Ro8's as well.

I feel Stork and Free can overtake ZerO because individual leagues are more mentionable than going nearly undefeated in a small team league. I dont think Light or Stork can even be compared to Fantasy atm. I was reluctant to put Light high because all he did was play TvZ but if you look at it, Jaedong is the reason for 5 of his 7 losses. Sea lost humiliatingly to Jaedong and Stork and Pure both 2-0ed him out of the OSL Ro8 and WCG Ro24. he would be CBNC imo. Sea well deserved a rank last month but this month, all he did was drop from every single league.

Free definitely needs to be above Zero. He made it to the OSL semi's as a royal roader and Zero x2, Fantasy, Kal and Stork, all people who should be in the top10. He also took a game off of Flash. Similarly, I think Stork should also be higher than Zero for the sole purpose of having awesome games vs Sea, Fantasy and Jaedong. Zero SHOULD NOT be that high when the only thing he accomplished was winning some games in a joke team league.

so if Jaedong crushes Flash in the OSL 3-0 (unlikely, I know) does he remain at the top?

If it wasn't for the MSL final I'd still put JAedong over Flash this month. Unfortunately, the MSL finals happened, and Flash won, so not much to debate or complain about there.
If he wins the OSL though, which is more prestigious, then yea I'd definitely give it to Jaedong.

Bisu is still the definition of PvZ and shown some life in PvT. (see Bisu vs Baby) All his losses were PvP exept for his game against effort. Now 10 can go to anyone because not many played alot this month. i debated it over EffOrt and Sea. (Bisu never crossed my mind this month because well.. he did nothing) I placed him over Sea because of the previous rank order (EffOrt 4 Sea 5). Effort had a decent WCG run but dropped the ball to Kal but Sea decided to roll over for the whole month so EffOrt clearly deserves 10 over Sea.

Why is JD having 9 free days of #1 and counting? -_-

Or maybe you guys can read the thread and realize that Plexa was handing the rank off to someone else who couldn't do it, and the tardiness that resulted from that meant it'd be better to just wait until the last main event (OSL finals) until the offseason for the rank. If it was done earlier then there'd literally have been one game to go off of, because the whole mbc/gretech fiasco has resulted in the later running tournaments (GSM and MSL) being finished before the OSL.

Even if JD takes the OSL finals, Flash took the MSL finals convincingly, being the first player ever to beat JD in a match 5 (If I recall correctly). I can only hope that when Flash wins the OSL, people finally ackknowledge his bonjwaness. Sixth consecutive finals? Three seasons in a row of double finals? Shatting all kinds of ELO and winrate records? I don't care if you attribute it to cheese or maps or whatever. He's been the dominating force in the BW scene for, like, a year now, and it's about time he gets acknowledgement for it.
Flash would have to completely fall apart to not earn the #1 spot, and I don't mean just the #1 spot for the next PR, I mean the #1 spot for Broodwar, forever.

All the scenarios regarding OSL finals seems pretty useless to me, because there's no way Flash can lose there. He is the definition of terran imbalance right now, and Jaedong has no chance. As much as I would like to see some epic games.

I dont see how Flash's win was convincing (3-2 result, FS game). If anything the final showed us once again how close those two players are. And JD lost quite a few bo5s already.

Did you read the summary of the MSL Finals?
Sounds pretty convincing to me. Take a look here

Well, when it's written in the summary, then it must be true.
Joking aside, Flash was the better prepaired player that day and his win was well deserved, even when it was only 3-2. But I didn't see Flash outclassing Jaedong in a general sense. Riding three different incredible 14cc timing attacks to victory is pretty impressive, but it was mostly preparation imo.
But If Flash wins his third final in a row against JD, then there can be no discussion anymore.

SuperArc you make me laugh. You're so focused on the number 3-2, as if that means that the MSL was super close. If you want to play number games instead of talking about the dominating force Flash is, then I'll put another "number" out there for you. 3 is 50% greater than 2. Here's another: If you extrapolate 3 and 2 out times 100 you have 300-200. Whoa, blows your mind doesn't it. Yeah, that's why numbers are pretty meaningless, and the whooping that was put on Jaedong in that final is what you should be focused on.
Unfortunately they are not close, and I really do mean that. I'd like nothing more than to have 3 kings, one from each race to keep things interesting, but the reality is that there is a huge gap between Jae and Flash and everyone else, and there is a widening one between Flash and Jae as well.
