Why can't some people dislike SC2? It's our personal preference. Right now compared to BW, SC2 is pretty much just another RTS for me. Yes, it's in the Beta and only time will tell if the game will get better and live up to BW's name. But right now, it's not a great game to watch.
Also I am pretty sure the people you've quoted are people who HAVE played SC2 and came to the same conclusion.

Wow, why the hate seriously? why not be happy new people are joining the community for sc2 and that many people who previously had little to no interest in esports enjoy watching it? How does this hurt the progaming scene, if SC:BW is so much better then it will continue to attract its own following. Does the older TL crowd feel so threatened by SC2 that they need to bash it mindlessly just because it wins a poll? Just watch what you enjoy no need to trash the other side.

You newcomers need to understand that this used to be a site exclusively about Brood War and the older crowd (do not be fooled by my few posts I have been lurking here since long before the Beta was out) here feels invaded by the newcomers. It's like said basket-ball and Football came in and invaded our forums talking about how great their sports are etc.etc. of course we dont like that

It's not like SC2 is a bad game. I play it but I tend to get bored of it very easily. Also it's just from watching both BW and SC2 that I like BW a lot more than SC2.

That's fine, and that is a perfectly acceptable and understandable opinion. It's when someone (not you in particular, but people in general) demeans other people and their preferences and insists his/her opinion is the only legitimate one that causes the flame wars like we're seeing and participating in. Let's all try to be understanding of one another as the community grows and changes with the addition of SC2. This was simply an opinion poll, and no one preference is better than other.

no SC2 game has EVER come CLOSE to JD vs midas that was JUST played and is only in the top 1/3 of VODs really.

If I have the time I like watching Proleague, if only because I hate the split boX format which kills the excitement of a series for me. I would like e-sports to get bigger outside of Korea, but sadly sc2 is not the spectator or thinking game for it at the moment. There's no point in watching sc2 as a lover of good RTS: rarely more than 1 thing going on at the same time, the games are tactically boring, and it all leads up to a single, anticlimatic fight. Watching sins of a solar empire replays would be more exciting than SC2.
and the poll makes me throw up in my mouth.

Never watched broodwar? I bet many of the newcomers have watched it, but since they never really played it, myself included, they just don't get the same out of it as a BW player does and therefor don't watch as much of it. Same goes for either camp. BW players and the vast majority of this thread's posts, haven't played much and in some cases have NEVER played SC2 (it is only beta and all they get are videos from people that have played for less than a month). They are used to SC:BW and that is what they like to watch.
Would be interesting to see, if we could go back in time, if people would be saying the same thing about SC when it first came out like they are about SC2, compared to another established RTS. Probably, knowing the attitude a lot of this thread's posts have had.

this is a very understandable point and here is my response:
Why not try to gain some new fans?
If BW is so much funner to watch than SC2 then what an opportunity for BW to gain even more of a following with the new attention it automatically gets from SC2 being released.
This thread did an incredibly poor job at attracting a new SC2 player to checking out the korean BW leagues except for a number of people recommending the MSL,
apparently being late to this party means you aren't welcome to it, I can see why there is so much concern for the future of BW progaming. If this is the general attitude of its fans its doomed.

SC2 is not a bad game. Its just that there aren't any really good players playing it right now. The level of precision, micro, multitasking, decision making is not at the SCBW level. Granted, the level is high, players like artosis and nony aren't to be scoffed at, but don't be fooled. They aren't on the skill level of a person who trained 3 years for 15 hours a day. SC2 will probably be fun to watch once really really good players who dedicate their lives to it start playing.

They were simply stating that they think watching SC2 sucks/is boring, not that those who watch SC2 suck. I'm not sure why you're taking offense to that general opinion... it's not like they're trying to chase off new users (okay maybe some are).
Additionally, if I was some brand new SC2 player who had never watched a BW game in my life, and I read a thread full of "I hate watching SC2, BW is much more fun to watch", it would motivate me to check out a few BW games.
For me: MSL>OSL>PL>SC2
