Watching SC2 is boring simply because there are no screaming Koreans in the background. Screaming Koreans has become like ambient music for me. Sometimes I'll just have the newest proleague match up on youtube in a different firefox tab because excited Korean chattering is so soothing. lol.

I enjoy watching all three, though I can watch SC2 streams all the time, where-as only once/twice a day I get to enjoy a few hours of sick SCBW action. That being said, staying up 'till 18:00 KST can be a pain during the week but it's worth it most of the time!

If BW is so much funner to watch than SC2 then what an opportunity for BW to gain even more of a following with the new attention it automatically gets from SC2 being released. This thread did an incredibly poor job at attracting a new SC2 player to checking out the korean BW leagues except for a number of people recommending the MSL, apparently being late to this party means you aren't welcome to it, I can see why there is so much concern for the future of BW progaming. If this is the general attitude of its fans its doomed. The kind of people that watch sc2 for fun are not the kind that will appreciate BW, or be able to have much fun watching it. Seriously, sc2 is a really fun game to play, but watching it is EXTREMELY boring. You can see a very tiny amount of tricks, but mostly its just BO/strategy oriented and then clash of the armies. There is barely anything to watch. I download all proleague, msl, osl, and sc2 vods i can find, and its not like i dont give watching the game a chance. I do, because i feel like i have to watch anyway to pickup new strategies and such but its as boring as counting thumbs compared to watching a high level BW game. When I watch a BW game, i dont watch it because i feel like i need to to make it easier for me to play BW. I watch because it genuinely keeps me entertained Read this whole quote: On April 16 2010 23:10 Wraith.Jax wrote: What made it amazing imo is how unusual it was. It wasn't your ordinary TvT with mass M&M&M, one player makes a few banshes, the other makes a few tanks. They really used a wide array of strategies, and pretty much everything in the terran arsenal. Actually, they really used every single Terran unit during this game, even a lonely ghost with a nuke (which got spotted, sadly). There was even a sneaky planetary fortress offensive at one point! They also used pretty much the whole ressources on the map, and the ending was just crazy, that solo battlecruiser holding off a bunch of thors while tons of SCVs were repairing. I even thought QXC was going to pull off the craziest come back victory at one point, but his macro was too far behind at that point. There is in fact, so little excitement to be gleaned from watching SC2 matches, that people are actually excited because every unit in the aresenal shows itself in one point or another, and are content to watch amove battles occur all over the map for 50 minutes, seeing as there are in fact a lot of various units being used. This isnt like people who watch football ridiculing people who watch esports, like someone else said, its like people who watch football ridiculing people who watch the grass grow

'The kind of people that watch BW for fun are not the kind that will appreciate sc2, or be able to have much fun watching it. Seriously, BW is a really fun game to play, but watching it is EXTREMELY boring.' there would be 5 million posts judging them for their bias. Why can't someone enjoy watching both? I do. All of this hate over a simple poll. The fact that a lot of people like watching SC2 is disgusting. Really? As was stated earlier, the fact that the community is growing with the imminent launch of SC2 can only be a good thing. Aren't online communities like this supposed to be about finding and talking with people who have similar interests? Maybe instead of everyone bashing on SC2 and those who enjoy it, you could instead try and attract people to start watching BW and grow the audience? Something along the lines of. Well if you like SC2 you're going to love this! All the bashing on this thread chases away newer members (like myself) that were attracted to a StarCraft community, and reinforces many of the comments that are made about the TL crowd elsewhere on the web.

Brood War is the greatest and most competitive RTS ever made. You've been a member for three days, but do you recognise this fact? It seems to me that a lot of new members don't. If they did, they certainly wouldn't love watching SC2 more.

And; as I stated - I really enjoy watching it. What I was taking exception to is the idea that people seem to be expressing is that because they enjoy BW so much, nobody in their right mind could enjoy SC2 more. Does the fact that I've only been a member 3 days mean that I don't know my own preferences? Formula 1 is to many people the most competitive form of motor racing out there. But some people enjoy Indy Car more. Neither is wrong, there are different things to enjoy about each of them. Some people like watching both. Different people have different tastes. That's life. There's no need to get angry about it.
