MSL for me, because of Free, Flash and Jaedong.

Watching SC2 is boring simply because there are no screaming Koreans in the background. Screaming Koreans has become like ambient music for me. Sometimes I'll just have the newest proleague match up on youtube in a different firefox tab because excited Korean chattering is so soothing. lol.

I think the poll is a little unfair. There should be two options, Starcraft 2 and Brood War. Even though the current BW options combined are less than SC2, I think this would change.

Proleague > MSL/OSL > Starcraft 2 for me.

I enjoy watching all three, though I can watch SC2 streams all the time, where-as only once/twice a day I get to enjoy a few hours of sick SCBW action. That being said, staying up 'till 18:00 KST can be a pain during the week but it's worth it most of the time!

Looking at the split votes among the BW choices, I wonder how a poll would turn out if we divided up the SC2 channels/sources.

You newcomers need to understand that this used to be a site exclusively about Brood War and the older crowd (do not be fooled by my few posts I have been lurking here since long before the Beta was out) here feels invaded by the newcomers. It's like said basket-ball and Football came in and invaded our forums talking about how great their sports are etc.etc. of course we dont like that

this is a very understandable point and here is my response:

Why not try to gain some new fans?
If BW is so much funner to watch than SC2 then what an opportunity for BW to gain even more of a following with the new attention it automatically gets from SC2 being released.
This thread did an incredibly poor job at attracting a new SC2 player to checking out the korean BW leagues except for a number of people recommending the MSL,

apparently being late to this party means you aren't welcome to it, I can see why there is so much concern for the future of BW progaming. If this is the general attitude of its fans its doomed.

The kind of people that watch sc2 for fun are not the kind that will appreciate BW, or be able to have much fun watching it. Seriously, sc2 is a really fun game to play, but watching it is EXTREMELY boring. You can see a very tiny amount of tricks, but mostly its just BO/strategy oriented and then clash of the armies. There is barely anything to watch. I download all proleague, msl, osl, and sc2 vods i can find, and its not like i dont give watching the game a chance. I do, because i feel like i have to watch anyway to pickup new strategies and such
but its as boring as counting thumbs compared to watching a high level BW game. When I watch a BW game, i dont watch it because i feel like i need to to make it easier for me to play BW. I watch because it genuinely keeps me entertained

Why is this not posted yet? EPIC game.

why exactly is this 'the most epic game in sc2'? they both played really damn well, but it didnt make for ALL that much entertaingment, micro moments, or general *GASP* WHATS GONNA HAPPEN?! moments. if this really is the best game of sc2 played so far, it doesnt speak well for sc2 at all as a spectator sport, almost every bw game i've seen has been more exciting

Well, I guess it's a matter of taste as well. Some people like to see more micro moments, some like to see epic battles between 20 Thors and 10 BCs.

I don't know, I really found that the game was amazing.

Well I was asking what EXACTLY people found amazing about it, I just think im missing something and maybe if I could hear peoples opinions I could see it from a different perspective?
I've just watched it 2 times and even though I can tell both players are great and made good decisions and such at some points, theres not a single moment in the game that grabs me as exciting, in which the winner of the battle couldnt be predicted from the get go, or any micro beyond laying down point defence drones or cloaking...

What made it amazing imo is how unusual it was. It wasn't your ordinary TvT with mass M&M&M, one player makes a few banshes, the other makes a few tanks.

They really used a wide array of strategies, and pretty much everything in the terran arsenal. Actually, they really used every single Terran unit during this game, even a lonely ghost with a nuke (which got spotted, sadly).

There was even a sneaky planetary fortress offensive at one point!

They also used pretty much the whole ressources on the map, and the ending was just crazy, that solo battlecruiser holding off a bunch of thors while tons of SCVs were repairing. I even thought QXC was going to pull off the craziest come back victory at one point, but his macro was too far behind at that point.

There is in fact, so little excitement to be gleaned from watching SC2 matches, that people are actually excited because every unit in the aresenal shows itself in one point or another, and are content to watch amove battles occur all over the map for 50 minutes, seeing as there are in fact a lot of various units being used.
This isnt like people who watch football ridiculing people who watch esports, like someone else said, its like people who watch football ridiculing people who watch the grass grow

PL because of FPL. Sometimes I watch SC2 too. For MSL and OSL maybe the semi-finals and finals.

Given the general attitude I see here; If someone had made the broad generalisation:

'The kind of people that watch BW for fun are not the kind that will appreciate sc2, or be able to have much fun watching it. Seriously, BW is a really fun game to play, but watching it is EXTREMELY boring.'

there would be 5 million posts judging them for their bias. Why can't someone enjoy watching both? I do. All of this hate over a simple poll.

The fact that a lot of people like watching SC2 is disgusting. Really?

As was stated earlier, the fact that the community is growing with the imminent launch of SC2 can only be a good thing. Aren't online communities like this supposed to be about finding and talking with people who have similar interests? Maybe instead of everyone bashing on SC2 and those who enjoy it, you could instead try and attract people to start watching BW and grow the audience? Something along the lines of. Well if you like SC2 you're going to love this!

All the bashing on this thread chases away newer members (like myself) that were attracted to a StarCraft community, and reinforces many of the comments that are made about the TL crowd elsewhere on the web.

I really enjoy playing SC2 at the moment but watching it compared to BW is like watching amateur wheelchair basketball rather than the NBA (regardless of how good they are they can only amaze you so much due to the limitations).

im proud that I consider sc2 a terribly boring game to watch. maybe it'll get as good as bw in 10 years once it finally develops some decent strategical depth.

maybe sc2 would be more fun to watch if there was a bunch of korean jibberish i cant understand on top of the audio and random shots of korean girls hiding their faces.

you really start to miss it if you dont watch BW VODs for a while

Brood War is the greatest and most competitive RTS ever made. You've been a member for three days, but do you recognise this fact? It seems to me that a lot of new members don't. If they did, they certainly wouldn't love watching SC2 more.

What's with all the SC2 votes, good lord. SC2 just isn't that fun to watch. It alright to play but watching BW >>>> watching SC2 and really playing BW >> playing SC2; but hey, a little bit of variety never hurts.

Yes, I recognise how impressive Brood War is. And; as I stated - I really enjoy watching it. What I was taking exception to is the idea that people seem to be expressing is that because they enjoy BW so much, nobody in their right mind could enjoy SC2 more. Does the fact that I've only been a member 3 days mean that I don't know my own preferences?

Formula 1 is to many people the most competitive form of motor racing out there. But some people enjoy Indy Car more. Neither is wrong, there are different things to enjoy about each of them. Some people like watching both. Different people have different tastes. That's life. There's no need to get angry about it.

All but SC2, soooo boring (granted I do not have beta).
OSL>MSL, but phenomenal games from both (sad to see by.baby go, but I love flash as well!)

SC2 is a snorefest. I like watching OSL/MSL/PL equally.
