What am I missing? Results from a year ago aren't particularly relevant to a HotS powerranking.

I feel like SaSe will end up much higher. JYP is another one I am unsure of. His play is rather inconsistent.

You can't base power rankings off of a single qualifier or tournament, etc. Only Koreans have enough tournament games played in HotS to really categorise them decently... To be fair I have been out of the scene, but I am not really sure what Naniwa (for example) has really done in the last year, and he is still referred to as an ex-GSL quarterfinalist, which is about as relevant as calling HuK an ex-GSL quarterfinalist... (which he is I think?) #16: Definitely-not-EG.NaNiwa One could argue that Naniwa is one of few foreigners with the experience, work ethic and raw talent necessary to take the fight to the Koreans this weekend. One could argue that despite a nearly empty match record in HotS, we should put our faith in NaNiwa, and believe that he has been practicing hard (even being sighted in Korea) to put the dispute over the Swedish throne to rest once and for all. Whatever the case, we're taking a leap of faith by putting NaNiwa up here as the highest ranked Swede of the tournament. With names like Gumiho, Polt, Leenock and Oz in attendance, the former GSL quarterfinalist has his work cut out for him. This is his time, more than ever before, to prove to everyone that he, and he alone, is the greatest Swedish Starcraft II player of all time, and we believe that he realizes this as well. I like Naniwa, I have no problems with this, but if you're going to let him slip by with nothing in HotS then the same rules should apply to people like HuK, Grubby, etc., who aren't even on the notable players list? This is actually a completely irrelevant power ranking beyond top 5.

It might not count for much when you consider his biggest opponent was Morrow but Naniwa recently went 30:0 in a Swedish cup in HotS.

I don't think that counts for much. Puzzle/Coca haven't even played an SC2 game in a year. Honestly, this is almost an embarrassing article, and I have been acclimatized to better from the TL staff I guess... I know that the argument that this is just opinion, but this is opinion without evidence. It's like someone played darts with the rest of the notable names after the top 5. I realise I am overreacting, but I guess I thought this is worthy of discussion.

They are most likely using ladder to rank them.
