I'm sorry to my fans that I'm retiring so abruptly. But this is a decision I've made after giving it lot of thought, so I hope you will understand. There's a lot of things to say, but it's hard for me to put them down as words, so I'll keep it brief.
It was a short time, but I'm so thankful to my fans who cheered me on, and it makes me sad thinking about what could have been if I had met you sooner. Thanks to all of my teammates on POS, MBCGame, the 8th Team, and TeamLiquid who I spent my time as a progamer with. I'm very thankful to the TeamLiquid staff who took such good care of me, and I'll never forget them.
If there's a beginning, there's an end. My progaming life ends, but for my bond with Liquid, it's just starting. I'll always cheer for Liquid as an honorary member.
From Liquid`Nazgul...
From the beginning, we didn't know exactly what to expect when Sea joined Liquid. He started off by surprising us, exceeding our expectations. He was extremely enthusiastic about interacting with fans, and he improved his StarCraft II skills at an amazing pace. In many ways, he was the perfect new recruit.
Unfortunately for us, it couldn't last. Though Sea enjoyed his time on Liquid, especially getting to experience IPL5, he couldn't rediscover his passion and enjoyment for gaming. One of the main reasons Sea had for joining Liquid was that he felt he would regain a joy for gaming that had worn away after having played professionally for seven years. And while the experience of being on a new team and traveling abroad gave Sea some new motivation, it was not enough. As one of the Brood War greats, Sea has high standards, and he wasn't enjoying the game as much as he needed to, in order to reach the level of success he was asking from himself. After a lot of thought and discussion with Liquid and those around him, Sea made the difficult decision to retire.
Sea is a legend to anyone who has been around TeamLiquid for a long time. Having him join our team itself was immensely meaningful to us. From the get-go Sea showed a greater desire to reach out to his fans than I've ever seen from a player. We talked about this to great lengths in the lead up to his signing, but I never expected him to put in such a huge effort, with 156 hours streamed in October. That's more than any other Liquid player in one month, which says a lot with TLO as part of our team. Whenever I would tune into his stream I'd feel proud seeing a new member of the team having so much fun with his viewers. He was received in an overwhelmingly positive way, and we were off to a good start.
Sea was proving to be a great addition in terms of skill as well. After an initial loss in his MCSL debut, he went on a seven series winning streak in the same tournament. Sea was even on the brink of making it into Code A, just barely losing 1 – 2 in the final round of the qualifiers, an incredible achievement for a player who was still developing his game.
With Sea setting team records for streaming, fitting in with the rest of the team, and becoming a key team league player within months, it would be an understatement for me to say that I felt great about having him as a part of Liquid. I'm not sure I could have asked for anything more.
The blow of hearing he was having doubts came all the harder for it. It seemed my experience wasn't being shared by Sea himself. After talking about his motivation as a progamer, we convinced Sea to come to IPL5. We felt that he should experience a Western SC2 event at least once, so he could have a better view of the international SC2 scene before making a decision. Sea really enjoyed his time at IPL, and after a long talk in person, he said he needed some more time to think. After he had returned to Korea and had a few days to think things through, the final word came: IPL had been his last tournament.
Previously, when HayprO and Jinro retired, I shared their opinion that it was the right choice for them. With Sea, I'm more conflicted, knowing that all the factors were still in place for him to have a very good, successful StarCraft II career. It doesn't feel good, but I'm going to have to accept it. What's good for the team isn't always best for the player, and only Sea can decide what he wants from progaming, and whether or not it's worth pursuing it.
Sea has informed us that he would like to retire as a professional gamer on Liquid. It has truly been a pleasure to have had him on our team, and it is a great honor to have him end his professional career with us.
Yeah, I didn't see that coming. Sad to lose such an awesome Terran player but I'm sure Sea will excel in whatever he chooses to move on to. Leave it to the liquid terrans to make mech TvP such a spectacle to watch.
Real shame since he was doing so well in teamleague, and showing some really interesting strats/builds, was really looking forward to seeing him in Proleague...
Very saddening to hear He was off to a nice start and he looked to have good potential, I hope you excel in whatever you chose to do in life, good luck Sea!
That sucks! I enjoyed his stream so very much! Such an entertaining player But he needs to be happy in whatever he's doing. All the best wishes to him. Sea fighting!
Sorry to see you go so soon Sea. I really enjoyed your BW games and showing us how to play Mech TvP in SC2. Thanks for all the great memories, and best of luck in your future endeavors.
thats not good news for the scene, or for liquid. but it would be selfish of us as a whole to not wish him the best and come to terms with his personal decisions.
its pretty awesome that he ended up being a part of liquid, if only for a short time!
Sad to see 3 members retire during the year of liquid. Real shame I had high hopes for his mech, but if you don't enjoy the game you spent so much time on it's better to retire than to force yourself to play. I was really looking forward to seeing him play in proleague again T.T
With all that beating about the bush regarding his absence in the Proleague studio and his ominous "Sorry" tweet recently, I feared this might happen. Damn. Can't say I'm not disappointed...
I hope the Liquid side of EG-TL will be able to find a good replacement for future rounds in Proleague.
Good bye, Bosung. Loved your TvP mech play versus Naniwa at IPL5.
Even if he isn't playing professionally any more I hope he still streams from time to time. He always got so excited during his games, it was my favorite stream to have on in the morning. Hope you stick around Sea.
The tide seems to have turned pretty quickly. No time for making waves. I'm all at sea when it comes to this but I hope the winds fill his sails and guide him to calmer waters where he can find a happier place to anchor down.
I remember when I entered the MBC Game Hero dorm in LOOX in 2010 and while I wasnt even allowed/invited there no one even saw me because Sea and his teammates trained so hard...
So soon, makes it even more sadder i guess. Was getting excited to see your games in the proleague, and i caught a TvZ you were playing on your stream the other week and you seemed a decent level. Very sad, and sad for Liquid too who lost a player in the process.
Also EGTL losing proleague player to drop their squad numbers down again. (Assuming HuK/ThorZain will be going home for Christmas time, there squad is going to be small)
I can't help but feel angered at blizzard for killing bw in favor of sc2 when sc2 is just not nearly as interesting for so many people. Pretty sure this is the case for sea as well, but I could obviously be wrong. Sad to see this happen, when I watched that reality show with some korean celebrity and mbc game hero sea was my favorite guy over there.
What's good for the team isn't always best for the player, and only Sea can decide what he wants from progaming, and whether or not it's worth pursuing it.
Though I was never a big fan of Sea (think I started to follow the BW scene closely only after he peaked), I did enjoy his games, and seeing him play for Liquid for a long time would have been truly awesome. Oh wells, hope he finds something else he enjoys doing instead.

Oh well.
I think you are wrong in this one, as he did not state his transition to sc2 as reason for his lack of motivation.
Sad. Sea always made great efforts to keep in touch with the foreign community and its fans, probably more so than any other BW pro. Very fitting that he ended up on teamliquid before ending his career.
Clearly has the potential to be a mainstay in GSL but talent + potential equals 0 without the desire to realize it. Was fun to watch Sea on stream and see him develop and for that I will always be thankful.
Wow, that's really unfortunate from a fan's perspective. His game sense for SC2 developed so quickly and he showed tons of promise so quickly. His stream was always nice with how ubiquitous it seemed as well. All the best to him and whatever he pursues.

Not really he seems to have also lost motivation (or at least results) at the end of his bw career, with T8.
Massive shame. Lots of potential there. But of course its his own decision and if he's gradually lost his motivation over seven years its understandable.
Noo, one of the few korean players whose stream I really did enjoy. Such a good player but at the same time a natural born comedian. Was looking forward to seeing him in more tournaments. ( gl sea
I'm sorry but I feel this is quite a douchey move retiring so shortly after joining Team Liquid. He should have tried SC2 a few more months before making this decision. Makes me sad
so short he was instant my new favorite player in liquid and way more "foreign" feel like the other koreans, depending on how much we knew him in bw i will miss his stream
I am a bit disapointed. Sea has potential to be a top terran, he was a very good teamleague player some years ago.
I never thought of him as someone who would just give up and to be honest I don't like this decision one bit... but we have to respect his decision. In the end, it is his life we are talking about.
On December 17 2012 23:00 KingOfPain wrote: he d rather play bw and WoL, thats why.
No, when they picked him up they were talking about him already losing his motivation but they hoped by joining a team like Team Liquid he get his motivation back and be better than ever
Must be frustrating for Nazgul. Putting in a lot of effort to get things arranged and than it goes away after 2 months. Ah well, thats life and wont be the last time. If you got no motivation there's no reason to continue.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one; Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood. For nothing now can ever come to any good.
Oh god I'm so sad. My favorite progamer on my favorite team, it was too good to be true. I really wanted him to win one inidividual league before retiring and lead liquid to a PL championship. I will miss you Yum Bo Sung. GL in everything in the future.
Hopefully you still stream when you feel lonely and let the fans have some fun with you.
No so sad to see him go. But just like he said, all good things must come to an end. What makes it so sad is that we barley got to see his potential in SC2. I thrust him in his decision tough.
i think we will see a bit more of this in the next year, a new game isnt for everyone. this by no means means that sc2 is dying or anything, sheath your pitchforks, its just after playing a game for so long, it can be hard to find a love for a new one, especially in your late 20s. SEA had an amazing journey, best of luck to whatever future he makes for himself. If someone can dedicate so much effort and talent to BW, they can achieve anything in life. He knows how to work hard for something, the sky is the limit
Well, this is lame with EG-TL in Proleague and all. But you gotta do what you gotta do. Thanks for the awesome BW games and the enjoyment you gave many of us in Proleague Sea.
Must have been a tough decision. Since I've discovered this website, reading about Sea joining Liquid was such a momentous occasion and one of the greatest moments ever. Sad to see him retire, but he must do what's best for him. Naz is also awesome for being so patient and understanding.
All the best for the future, Sea. The Proleague Warrior!
Now my fantasy proleague team "Sea's Witnesses" needs a new captain and a new team name! So sad to see him retire, he was one of my favorite streamers. =/
Wow, really sad. I've heard that he didn't care for SC2 all that much but this seems quite sudden. Best of luck in whatever he chooses to attack next, BW boss and was doing quite well in SC2 for how little time he spent with it comparatively.
Uch, did no expect this for sure, his progress was amazing and his stream was great. But when you feel it's your time it's good to call it right away and not drag on (or make a quick buck on a foreign team) You had my respect and that did not change at all with this disision.
I had admiration for TL because they had long term players and because they invested on foreigners and thus helped the foreign scene. Nowadays, they only recruit koreans and they couldn't foresee that their last pick up would retire just after he enters the team. I still have faith but it's disappointing. I hope they take into account the foreign player scene a little bit now.
I just lol'ed when saw this announcement. He joined TL like 1-2 months ago, done nothing when in it, then retired. I wonder what TL administration really things about it. Anyway good luck in your future endavours.
Quite sad and unexpexted. But I guess if he hasn`t any longer the motivation to grind 60 hours a week after seven years of Kespa it is a reasonable move. Nevertheless, I hope that Liquid will consider a not so known foreigner like Illusion or Welmu as a replacement.

Bit strange yes. There is several pros that doesn't like the game at times - but they still go on. How much did he try to continue playing it? Could money be one of the causes?
This makes me really sad ;__; I wish you all the best in your future, whatever you may do,Sea.I am thankful for all the joy you gave me. Never forget,Sea fighting

I wouldn't say his 7 series winning streak in team leagues for TL was "nothing".
He was one of my favorite new streamers, I had him on my fantasy Proleague team, and he was just an all around cool player. So sad he retired so soon after joining Liquid.
At IPL5, Sea lost to BBoong (who lost to Hyun the very next game) then beat Genius and Naniwa and then lost to Life. He was developing his skill? What does his skill look like fully developed? Second coming of MVP?
On December 17 2012 23:20 GunSec wrote: omg it seems that teamliquid are dropping players to retirement TT who is next :/?
Tyler. Even when it was clear he could never get to Korean-class through personal issues, he still had personality, respect and presence. With his recent attitude he now has none of that, and he's missed the few opportunities to attend tournaments he could win (WCS US, WCG, team leagues) His problems have gone on for so long that it starts to be his fault and I don't see how he's contributing to TL at this point, even just as a personality.
With how secretive TL are about retirements in advance (Sea, Jinro, Haypro) I would not be surprised if his current break is retirement cover.
So that's why he's never on the bench hahahaha. Oh boy all my players are either retired or captains now hahaha. I guess the writing was on the wall all this time. Derp.
I wonder what the future holds for you sea, I haven't seen enough of you in SC2 except your mech play, I will always remember you for your bw carrier, especially your game vs boxer and your amazing proleague run with light / bisu. Hard to believe that just 9 months ago we were still in full BW proleague...
Oh man, I can't believe it. I feel like I just got blindsided. Goodbye, Sea, and thanks for all the great times you gave us, even us new kids who came in with SC2. Our best wishes are with you in anything you do.
=/ I hope this doesn't happen to any of the other BW elites, it's really sad to see that Sea didn't become comfortable with the transition, he still had the potential to be fairly successful at SC2. Truly a shame, now we all know why he weren't with EG-TL at Proleague...
Fingers crossed this doesn't happen anymore >< Not long ago I heard such speculation about Bisu omg please not Bisu lol...

Hey man... Sea is a legend alongside any S ranked BW player or any of the old legends, this is uncalled for.
Sea was not S-ranked ever. I like him as a player, and a person, but you should not be making stuff up. He had awesome results in Proleague, but that's about it. Sad for Ryo, unless he ends up streaming BW and revitalizing the BW scene. I'm pretty sure Sea will not be the last KeSPA player who retires tho.
All I can say: ROFL. And thats not because I dont like him or smth, but just about all situation. Guy just joined new team, just started to understand new game and show good results and suddenly he retires.. Well.. thats akward situation.

I didn't say he was S ranked, just that he's a legend comparable to any S ranked player.
also, sad i loved Sea from BW and while I think SC2 isn't as good, I am also very glad to have seen him wear the Liquid tag, he's always been one of the most generous Koreans (especially in BW) in regards to foreign fans, always smiling and taking time and so I wish him the best in future endeavors and thank him for the great games he's given us!
So sad, yet so fitting that Sea ends his long career with this short yet amazing stint with Liquid. Was hoping to see some of that Proleague magic in action this season, but alas it was not to be. Good luck Sea!
In the short time frame I got to know you and your play style, you became my favorite player! You get it? I loved you! Don't leave us :<
Well...I hope nothing bad has happened that caused you too quit. I personally think you just had a passion for BW and you couldn't just transfer that passion into SC2, which is nothing other than completely normal. I wish you could, but that is selfish of me. I wish you all the best in what you do next with your life!
nooo sea! Sad he couldn't reignite his passion :/. Huge fan here for 2 years. Well i don't really blame him when i see sc2...good luck in future legendary mbc bw terran
i wish Sea would have stayed longer. i've cheered for him a long time and was super excited when he joined Liquid. i'm super sad that i never got to meet him at a tournamant and cheer him on to a big win.
i hope Sea makes the most out of his life post-progaming!
Sea has been a huge part of the lives of the BWers here at TL. He has been with us what seems like forever. And Sea was always so gracious towards foreigners, many of us have had the opportunity to meet him and some even hang out with him in Korea.
I guess it was his character, his charisma as a player that everyone loved about him. Sea was never truly a champion level player, but he had these flashes of brilliance that always kept people watching. His career was one of ups and downs and perhaps this made him even more interesting and storied, because when he knew when he had subpar performance, he always tried his best to get back to winning games. And he always would. He finished BW with a bang with some of the best play I've seen from him in a while and for that I am gracious.
Even his SC2 play showed amazing, rapid improvement, yet still maintaining hints of his BW playstyle in a vastly different game.
Aww that sucks. Even worse is that it fucks up my fantasy proleauge, god damn it. Just kidding. I hope that you succeed in whatever you will do now Sea. Your time on Liquid may have been short, but it have been awesome none the less. Best of luck to you.
T_T i'm actually moved to tears right now, especially after reading Nazgul's piece. I have tuned into many of Sea's streams since i'm a night owl on the north american east coast, and truly it was a pleasure to have watched him Terran up the night (and filling the gap left in my terran heart left by the lack of Jinro's stream following Jinro's retirement) best of luck in the future and thank you for all your contributions to both the history of pro-gaming, and both the StarCraft BW and 2 communities
Seems a little bit embarrassing, and a waste of time + resources just jumping ship and retiring very shortly after joining a renowned gaming team like liquid. A bit BM and unprofessional if you ask me. Just shouldn't have joined in the first place if the interest in professional gaming wasn't all there anymore (as opposed to gambling on the hope that the motivation might resurface). That's really, really disappointing. I mean obviously its better to just call it quits then lie to yourself that you're motivated and pretend.. But then theres the counter-argument of why would you join in the first place?
Why must every liquid Terran (except Taeja) lose motivation and quit playing or switch races? I even had Sea on my fantasy team ready to smash some protoss face with mech.
Sad and unexpected news. But the games and passion you have shown over the last several years will never be lost. Thank you so much for all those great games and interacting with your foreign fans <3

Many of us get tired of sc2, and now its the time for the legends, I was a huge fan of Sea, he and Violet were so kind to our community. Im sad about him, but im really sad about starcraft broodwar legacy. Sc2 is jut not good enough, period.
When someone on my CSL team mentioned this I didn't believe him... Sea had just started playing mere months ago... he still had so much to accomplish in SC2...
Looks like even BW stars can't take this fucking game and it's imbalances. Terrans will keep retiring till there aren't any left.
I can't stop myself from thinking that he was a bit dishonest against either TL or himself when he signed that contract. He has made his "should have done that earlier" decision now though.
Was looking forward to more of your mech play in WoL. Guess we won't ever see that brilliant play again. Gl and Hf in whatever you're doing in the future!
This is so sad... one of the best of all time. And he has a special place in my heart. I hated him for beating all my favorite players in PL when he was on MBC <3
After seeing you destroy Naniwa with Mech play, I was really hoping to see more Tournaments from you, what a shame. I've noticed though, so many Terrans retiring, I don't know if I'm the only one noticing this.
So much potential, but I absolutely understand not wanting to keep working at a job you no longer enjoy. Good luck Sea, and may we find someone who makes mech work vs Protoss
Reading between the lines in Nazgul's statement it is clear that he wasn't happy with SC2 and the direction it is heading with Hots around the corner. Blizzard needs to get their act together and realize that their succesor to WoL is causing people to retire.
We terrans want more mech play and less 600 apm bio. Unfortunately it seems that the later style will be more powerful than ever at the expense of positional mech play.
Good bye Sea and good luck in the future. It was soo much fun to watch your stream and follow your games at IPL5. The mech game vs Naniwa is one of my most memorable moments in SC2 ever!
Being one of few BW-fans still out there i dont care at all about whats going on in the SC2 world. But when i heard that Sea was joining liquid it actually made me really excited. Known and loved him ever since his TL attack!-apperance. I think that retirering is a good decision if he cant find the passion. You should end on a good note, and he certainly did.
Dang. Was really excited for another great terran on TL. Was looking forward to his games in proleague but alas, i wish him the best. I hope TL is in the market for another terran now.
I can't believe this... I would have thought IPL was such a good experience for him... he did quite well and seemed like he was having a great time. I wanted to ask for a picture together and actually get to know him but didn't get around to it, thinking "there's always next time." But now there isn't...
Pretty unexpected...and Sea retiring even though he was gm on kr server? oh gosh...i guess i should murder myself now.

I didn't. How did you manage to interpret it as balance whine?
I just said that there are many terrans that would be super excited about playing mech in TvP that has been disappointed with how SC2 is turning out. I made no statement about the actual balance.
People like you are why it is hard to have any meaningful discussions on TL.
This is very sad but at the same time it makes me respect him even more. He knew what it took to be the among the best and instead of trying to get by on his excellent mechanics and experience decided to let others try.
I hope he'll find something he can be as passionate about as he was about Broodwar.
He's been hinting at me for few weeks. That he didn't like this game and wanted to stream Afreeca. I never thought it was real until he told me few days ago that he was retiring and going to stream BW on Afreeca.
That sucks, I enjoyed watching him stream. So many Zergs streaming not enough Terrans that I like to watch. Liquid kinda needs to pick up 1-2 more players if you ask me. EG has just been signing people right and left.

If that so, not everything is lost. Gotta tune in afreeca restreams
This is a big loss to the scene. Sea was one of the nicest guys in the business. I'll join the rest of his foreign fans in wishing him good luck in whatever he decides to do next.
I just remembered this from the old BW power rankings:
Sometimes, the definition of "Power" changes so drastically that weird things happen.
Weird indeed, that Sea[Shield] is at the top of the Power Rank without a title to his name. Friends, Power can means a lot of things. A Powerful build order can win you a StarLeague. A Powerful mind can keep your career long and properous. A Powerful heart can endear you to the masses, and create a wave of fanatics frothing at the mouth just for a chance to cheer you on.
Yum BoSung has the most Powerful heart of any progamer on the scene. For the last several days, Sea has graciously spent time between practice with his adoring english-speaking fans, playing all manner of games. That includes a brutal 2-0 of your hero, sMi.FakeSteve, that consisted of utterly flawless (and I do mean flawless) control over the growth and prowess of his armed forces. Sea's TvT is perfection wielded as a weapon of unimaginable power, something I have never been on the receiving end of before.
Sea's TvZ is a sinister love affair between Casy's aggressiveness and iloveoov's macromanagement. You think you've seen TvZ? Watch Sea vs Hyuk on Othello, a game that transcends build order and mechanics and settles promptly down to raw, unrelenting will to win.
You think you're familiar with TvP timings? Sea frequently screams out of his base with a massive amalgamation of units and delivers his Protoss foe into the eager hands of the Devil himself. Sea is the reckoning and judgment itself for the hapless children who choose the race that carrier rushes.
Yum BoSung has captivated the entirety of TeamLiquid.net with but a few days of generous (by his schedule) interaction. A fresh crop of fans have seen the light, have snapped out of a dreamy sleep of ignorance during which they cheer for... *scoff*... other players. Sea is the single greatest StarCraft player to ever walk the earth, for reasons that go above and beyond the game itself, and certainly beyond the call of duty for a ProGamer.
Sea[Shield] is #1 on the Power Rank this month, and #1 in our hearts, this day and forevermore.
Pretty unexpected...and Sea retiring even though he was gm on kr server? oh gosh...i guess i should murder myself now.

We terrans want more mech play and less 600 apm bio. Unfortunately it seems that the later style will be more powerful than ever at the expense of positional mech play.
how did u manage to turn this into a balance whine?
I didn't. How did you manage to interpret it as balance whine?
I just said that there are many terrans that would be super excited about playing mech in TvP that has been disappointed with how SC2 is turning out. I made no statement about the actual balance.
People like you are why it is hard to have any meaningful discussions on TL.
People like you derail Liquid'Sea's retirement thread to complain about HotS.Which is going very well (even for terran strategies) btw. Have you tried it?
What was he supposed to do? Not accept offers as they came in right after BW ended? Stay with a job that he didn't want, when he could legally quit it?
well that's sad. i know i was thinking that he couldn't possibly get alot of quality training with all his streaming, seemed he didn't have super high ambitions. makes sense now.

Lol. You are the one derailing the thread.
Sea not being happy with SC2 is the reason for his retirement. It says so in the OP. Did you read it?
he's not happy with his performance and does no longer find joy in playing games professionally. thats my last response to a person who hasnt even read the thread.
Sad news. Sea has always been one of my favorite players to follow, in BW and in SC2. I was hoping we'd get the chance to see him become a Proleague monster once again, but I guess it wasn't to be.
Noooooo! I've always loved your play and you Sea, it's such a shame to see you retire but I hope whever you head too next and whatever you do you find happiness. T_T
We talked about this to great lengths in the lead up to his signing, but I never expected him to put in such a huge effort, with 156 hours streamed in October.

Ok both of you shut it now. bGr you are derailing the thread, one-one-one don't feed this guy. Any replies to each other or this must end now or at least contain one nice thing said about Sea. I'll start:
Sea, you were my hero back on MBC, I wish you got more chances to play with Bisu. Thanks for streaming BW afreeca.
edit:

Shhhh, I don't want to start crying at work. I just wish he would stream BW on afreeca again. I'm afraid if he did retire I wouldn't see him play anything.
Ouch ... it was short but it was fun. His stream became an instant favourite for me. I will miss him as he leaves me with dreams of what could have been.
Sad I was a fan from BW, and I thoroughly enjoyed his stream in SC2. His mech TvP is so fun to watch. I blame SC2 for his retirement >_> I hope others do not follow. Nevertheless, best of luck to you, Sea! HWAITING~
Well that was fast - I was looking forward to see if he could become good at SC2. I'm sad for his BW fans :-( However look at the bright side - there are a lot of pros who would jump at the opportunity to become a member of TL and who actually enjoy the game, should TL decide to replace him. So it's win-win for everybody (except the ones having him on their FPL team, haha). Gl Sea on your future endeavors!
Thanks for all the streams SEA. You should have gotten a keyboard sponsor. Everytime I watched you it made me want a mechanical keyboard. I loved watching your mech play too, good luck with whatever you choose to do next
I respect your decision Sea, but at the same time I can't help but feel disappointment. You were one of my favorite up and comers and I was really looking forward to seeing you develop your skills with Team Liquid. Alas, it wasn't meant to be so so I wish you farewell Sea, and best of luck in the future! I'm happy I at least got to see you at IPL 5~
i didnt like him anyway. I mean his play was ok, but never good enough to win major titles. His appearance in "Hyongoon becomes a progamer" television serious made him quite unappealing to me and i had a great disympathy since then. What a weired child...
However I feel sorry for team liquid. I appreciate nazuguls comment that sea exceeded the expectations. So professional
This is really sad when i think about all the times he has entertained me in BW . I didn't follow him a lot in SC2 , but i wish him all the best in whatever he does . Now with Sea gone , who are left from the older active progamers besides Stork ?

Kids who have fun are now weird? lol. If you actually knew something about bw history and his past you'd know he led his former team MBCGame to victory in 2006 by reaching the first place of Proleague
It's times like these that I really wish SC2 was just a better game- from the ground up. Not so easy, not so deathbally, not so fragile... such a shame. We have lost so many players because of this. It's obvious and its not talked about enough. This game fundamentally, is not very fun. It's an accomplishment to play well, its interesting to watch, but if you're banging your head against the wall 12 hours a day- this is no Broodwar. I don't claim to have the answer, but something is really wrong with it
Such a lovable character- thanks for all the fun times on stream Sea- and epic moments in Proleague, I'll never forget.
I think we can all at least appreciate the meaning of having someone so influential to the budding foreigner community nearly a decade ago retire on one of the two most influential foreigner teams of the generation. Honorary member, indeed.
But yeah bad times, never was the HUGEST Sea fan (because there's a lot of hardcore Sea fans on TL) but I always respected his skill in the game and his character outside of the game. GL in the future Sea, and hopefully... gl to Blizzard and the rest of SC2...
Something to think about for all game designers. What makes peole want to stay and play a game year after year. There isnt a better RTS out there then SC2 and Blizzard is in my opinion the best game creators over time; and still fail. Id say theres 3 big factors to consider here.
The competition from other games. Social network, the ability to make and keep friends easy. And that the game that starts out userfriendly convert to a more complex game. Sure most of the people playing SC2 dont have a clear picture of how exactly everything works but its not the point, you basicly do the same thing over and over again. At some point, im not sure if the players have to think at all they just have to see, act and learn. The thinking part is such a small part of this "strategy"-game.Its just my opinion dont get trolled by it, im sure everyone have their own.
With other words, they need to focus on how to create new personal bonds between players and to make people stay in the game longer and remove the anonymous crap that makes some consider every other unknown player an alien instead of a human. Im sure that alone would improve the atmosphere in. If you can upload a picture on yourself on Facebook why cant you in SC2?
About the see, act, learn + think part. If a player gets bored, its because his brain dossent get enough stimulus. Some players dont get to use their mental abilitys as much as they need. Just the fact that SC2 have static maps, no random generated maps (and that wouldnt work well) result in that Blizzard would have to focus even harder on the other parts to avoid the see/learn/act pattern and add "think" to that process. Its a strategy game after all, the thinking should be a main part of the game. Once the honeymoon is over and the "new" impressions became old, its how good the design of the game is that matters and decide if a player stay or leave.
Either way, Sea is the proof that Blizzard failed at some degree.
As someone who was just introduced to Sea when he joined Liquid, it absolutely sucks to see him retire. The guy always had a smile on his face and it was fun to watch him stream. T.T Gl HF in your future Sea!

You clearly don't know how important proleague was in Brood War relative to what existed in SC2 before KESPA switched over. Sea was consistently the top (or second) Terran on his team, for periods of time would near singlehandedly carry his team to victory, and was otherwise a pillar of MBCGame Hero before the teams dissolution.
And really, talking shit about Ro16 finishes in the BW equivalent of GSL Code S?

Damn...I'll never forget the time when Artosis hyped you up in Broodwar and watching you play because of that, and realizing that you were a really, really good player. Good luck with the future!
Some people are seriously disrespecting Sea here, really uncalled for considering that the man was one of the greatest proleague legends of all time. I hope he has a great future with whatever he pursues and continues to stream BW.
so sad, he is such a great guy! I have no Broodwarbackround so i didn't know him before he switched to Liquid but i liked him straight from the beginning an this only growed with every time I watched him on stream or in a tournament.
Itbreaks my heart to see him go so soon. As a fellow terran player, I have been having a hard time seeing why I should continue to play this game, in my opinion the game doesn't seem very fair for terran players at all, until Sea came into play. He reinspired me to become a better sc2 player, this really does break my heart T.T
Sad to see Sea retire from pro gaming, though I'm not that surprised considering hes one of the pro gamers that's been at it for a long time(nearly 8 years). He's still young so I wish the best in the future.
Sea is the only person I've watched stream that actually seemed to enjoy the game. He was always smiling. Sure it could be for show, but I even heard him comment on how much fun it was. I was in complete shock. Like how is he playing t vs z and enjoying that? There's obviously some correlation between winning and happiness, especially for a player with his standards. But, despite switching to SC 2 later than most, he was still GM in Korea. I can only think of Flash as having had more success than Sea at such a young age (even if just a beast in pro league). If anyone can succeed at SC 2, it's probably him. With Sea enjoying playing mech, it seems insane to retire with HotS right around the corner.
I don't know who to fault, but you can't think that it helps to play BW on the side. If you view BW as the better game and the more enjoyable one, and one which you were a top player, then that nostalgia can't help. I also don't think it helps if you don't put Sea in the proleague lineup. Whether it's a different game or not, Sea earned the right to play himself out of the lineup, by losing in proleague. EGTL was already fielding players that you knew were going to lose. I don't care what happened in practice, Sea earned that right and you have to know that not playing him = retirement. You can't afford to lose your most talented Korean player due to being more concerned with marketing or w/e.

I knew it would happen, I just thought it will be a little later. I watched most of his streams since he joined TL and I could see how fast he was losing his passion to SC2, day by day, game by game. During last few streams before he went to IPL5 it was obvious that he's very unhappy with the game and he was just looking very sad. And I think it was a right decision by him, he's not one of those players who can just get "work" in SC2 to get some results, he needs the passion to play good... So when the passion is gone.. it's over. Good luck in life Sea, you will be missed.
oh sea, you are my favourite player and played a game vs reach, many years ago, that i will never forget till the day i die, when i think of you, i think of the golden age and remember why i loved broodwar, i wish you all the best. <3
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. how. what. BUT. noooo. HE was in my top 5 terrans. Mech vs toss. what what the f*** f***. no1 does that, but sea did that. I am actually really genuinly sad. For haypro and jinro, i understood it, i was sad, but i was fine, but this is really sad

Ofc I thought about that and that's possible. But, if you join a team, I think you owe it to them to at least stick it out and go down fighting. Sea had more fun playing than anyone I've seen, so something doesn't add up. If you were one of the top pro league players ever, your pride would be shot if players you didn't think highly of were playing instead of you. I just think Sea was kinda forced into retirement by circumstances. I mean, taeja and hero are locks to be in the lineup. And since it's a team partnership, EG is going to want to have their equal share of players. I'm sure there's also a blend of I think this gives us the best shot of winning and I think we can also insert "x" to give us more viewers. If Sea didn't decide to retire before the rosters were released, there's no one else to blame but EGTL for that lack of foresight. Whether Sea should retire or not, you have to know he would at least impulsively want to.
I thought Sea should have left Liquid for simply allowing someone to give him a 2 in pro league... But, given that he was given a 2 which is absurd, you would have to think someone had insider knowledge already of this decision.

An abrupt end to a great pro-gaming career See ya Sea, you followed your dreams to the limit, and I hope you retire happy. Have a great life Sea, we will always be behind you.
I've seen more surprising things. Nada joining Azubu for me is one for example.
Sea often streamed BW and it didn't seem like he had much fun playing SC2 so when he didn't play in PL for the first 3 matches i knew something isn't right and thus ain't really surprised.

I thought Sea should have left Liquid for simply allowing someone to give him a 2 in pro league... But, given that he was given a 2 which is absurd, you would have to think someone had insider knowledge already of this decision.
Did you read the OP? Sea had already decided to retire before PL started.
Didn't Sea play in IPL, which was what, a week before their first match in PL? Obviously they didn't do much to give him a reason not to retire. Given that time frame and that's an accurate account, wouldn't that only serve to motivate Sea to not retire, given he had a shot at playing. The guy goes from talking about how fun SC 2 is to instantly talking about how he hates it? I'm just waiting for this discrepancy to be explained. Bi polar? Lost to the worst player ever? Sea has shown a tendency to lie in the past and could be now?
So sad to hear T_T the few times I tuned into his stream he seemed to be having alot of fun. Especially expressing himself when he faced a stream sniper/cheater. And being able to see his refreshing mech style made him fun to watch aswell even as a protoss player. Wish him all the best and sorry to hear this came so abruptly
aw man, sad and unexpected news. i enjoyed watching him stream, seems like a really funny guy with a lot of personality. good luck in your future endeavors, sea!
Oh sea I've been watching you playing so many games during all this years (5 years is a lot !!) I cant complaint to someone that make me enjoy this game so much You are not the best player but you didnt have any big problems in ur skills thats why I always cheer for you ! Your charisma is also one of the most important things I love about you as a progamer Showing emotion in every single matchup is something that normal progamers dont tend to do but you did ! Whatever you do that Have Fun Sea's Body
Sucks that he was unable to attain more enjoyment playing SC2. It was fun to watch his stream, he interacted a lot with his viewers. It is unfortunate that he is deciding to retire, but hopefully Sea finds happiness in whatever venture he moves on to. Have fun and good luck in the future Sea.
Just wanted to say I'll miss this player greatly. Being a Silver Terran that struggles greatly in TvP it was encouraging to me to see a progamer take out a few AMAZING Protoss players with Mech. It inspired me to actually practice again and it's helping me get over the TvP troubles. I also learned a lot about playing Mech in general.
So even though I didn't know about Sea for very long I'd like to say thank you to him for being an amazing player, inspiring me to keep practicing SC2, and giving me another amazing Terran to watch You will be missed greatly by me LiquidSea
That is such a quick exit, but I guess the statements give some of the context. Seven years is a long time to be playing as a progamer. I was looking forward to Sea doing really well on my Fantasy PL team.
This is sad. Wasn't him complaining about not enjoy pro game since a bit before BW ends? I kind of remember something like that. And I saw him so happy on streams, tought he had found the joy once again... Damn I was so excited to see him at proleague, Sea the team league beast! Best of luck fom him on whatever he will do from now on.

Or maybe they already knew about his decision to retire and he didn't want to play or practice for it?
I don't want to speak for Sea here, but it is very likely that the fun you saw Sea have during his stream sessions was from the interactions with his fans and their reactions whenever something happened. If you were streaming while having fans spam that they love you, laugh with you during funny moments and stuff I bet you would be looking like you had alot of fun too, even if you didn't enjoy the game competitively and thought it was massively flawed.
Also add that Sea have always been a cheerful character, it's probably just how he is you know.

I know, but I was watching Sea stream "minutes" before the first pro league match started. I think he said he was headed to the studio. He looked strong and as if he had been in practice mode. I couldn't believe he wasn't in the lineup. That also happened to be the last time he streamed. Sea def struck me as a player that played for the fans and would put on a show. It's hard to put on a show, riding the bench, though. Do you really think Sea would have retired if he thought his chances were good of playing in pro league, given that timing?
1) So sad. After seeing him beating Naniwa at IPL5 I was really looking forward to see him play more esp on EG-TL Proleague, 2) This explains why he wasn't playing in Proleague I guess. Now i feel slightly better about the decision to trade him for week two. 3) GLHF GG WP Sea!!!!
Well, he gave it the old college try. I hope Nazgul isn't too bothered. Now is a good time to focus on the remaining team, but my instincts tell me they might just buy another player.
saw this one coming. called it, even. he stopped streaming and he wasn't on the proleague roster, which would have made absolutely zero sense if he wasn't going to retire. seems like it was a rash decision, but often times that means it was simply a case of delaying it for too long.
Liquid.Sea was getting me back into the game, I mean I was watching his stream, he kills a scouting probe and celebrates! lol. It looked like he was having a blast, and thats contagious. but I guess it wasn't enough to keep him playing full-time. best of luck Sea, hope you stream every once in a while for fun.
Wow, this is really sad, I was really looking forward to seeing more of Sea in tournaments and leagues, he was by far one of my favorite Terran players to see play and his strats were innovative and worked surprisingly well considering he was still a new player in terms of SC2. I can't comment on his BW career since I wasn't around for it, but from what I saw of Sea as a person, he'll be greatly missed and I'm really sad he didn't have the motivation to continue as a pro-gamer.

Dude, I'm gonna call you out here. If you read the announcement, you would know he went to an IPL with team liquid. So, he's been to a major tournament. It is hard to suggest mech made sea retire, considering some success he had with it. And the reason is because he is not enjoying sc2 as much? READ the announcement. One would think you either didn't or lack reading comprehension.
Anyhow, sorry to sea a TL player go. I saw his stuff and was looking forward to his prowress. But, i can understand that whne the passions not there this was jusf a flare of gaming, unsustainable. TL handled this profesionally and kudos to them as always for that.

Easy there, fella. Sea's statement was very short and rather vague, which of course he's perfectly entitled to make. People are, of course, reading in between the lines because this guy was a huge coup for TL. They're just wondering why he lost the passion for progaming, and it's not that much of a stretch to assume he's not enjoying SC2 as much as BW. Of course there probably are numerous other factors that played a part in his decision, but you can't blame the people for speculating.
Well it seems he didn't like to stream sc2 because of Twitch sponsoring TL and not being fun. So he decided to leave and stream Afreeca instead which is more fun. At least thats what I got from stream chat.
Nazgul does have a way with words. It must have been a bitch trying to deal with this situation and finding a good "spin" to put on it. That was one hell of a well-written statement, all things considered.
Awwwwww, I used to watch MBCgame Hero just to see Sea[Sheild] play! He could give any BW player a run for their money, too bad he never made it past (round of 8?) in a Starleague, he was a champ in my heart (and his win rate was definitely good enough for it).
So random He joined Liquid and I couldn't even begin to describe how excited I was to hear it had happened. Now after such a short time and after so many people waiting to see how he does in the future in tournaments, he retires! I remember watching him in BW and loving every game he played. Hopefully we will be able to keep hearing news about his life coming up. Does anyone know what he is going to be doing now?
I sure hope Teamliquid team won't become retirement home for community respected [rightly so!] Koreans. I once had dream that Teamliquid team will nurture foreign talent and compete with Koreans toe to toe [that doesn't mean all foreign team, just foreign enough to have strong all foreign line-up regardles of strenght of Korean members]. Now I dream that they will stay on the top of the game.

Yes, the reason he retired from SC2, according to what he said in his Afreeca stream, is that the game isn't fun because he isn't getting better. In fact, he's streaming BW on Afreeca right now.

Definitely not the right way to go about that. Also, your first post makes it completely obvious that you have know idea what you're talking about,
This sucks. He showed some really good games that made me hopeful for his future in SC2. GL Sea!
You know some kind of telepathy or something? Why would I not read it? I love reading anyway and I kinda like Sea, he is a promising player. Stop accusing, if you don't know I read it or not, because I did.
Bummer to see you go sea. I always enjoyed watching you interesting and well thought out strategies and your stream. I hope that you find happiness with what ever you chose to do next = ) .
Well, thinking about this, I feel somewhat betrayed. In signing with Liquid he was promised as a SCII player, yet two months later he leaves the game, not because he has lost passion for gaming, but because SCII just was not worth it.
While on one hand I respect his decision to leave because he was living a lie....The other part of me questions why he had to do that. He left a whole in the heart of the people who loved him for who he was becoming in SCII...
And to see him streaming BW...I cannot help but feel that it was such a waste - that he should not have acted so soon...that he should have thought about it, perhaps played SCII before he made such a decision.
Because it is evident, after only one month of gameplay, that he does not enjoy SCII, and if someone does not enjoy the game then they can never bring 100% of their game to the table. I am of two minds about this. It sucks that he does not like SCII. But a lot of the KeSPA players do not like SCII it seems...and I cannot but wonder why Blizzard does not try to make the game better....this is a question I have asked for so long. And it baffles me.
But in the end, his decision to quit leaves me feeling somewhat betrayed.

this hurts me so badly. I don't blame him, and certainly don't blame his new team. He was literally one of the few players years ago I rooted for. This is so hard for me. I think I'll write my points more eloquently later on which is rare for me.

So it came down to unprofessionalism? Having fun is nice but this was a job and like all contracts certain things were expected of him. Did he think things would be any different from his bw days? TL is a business and Sea either forgot that, didn't understand, or just didn't care. At least he did the respectful thing and bowed out.
Credit to Sea for his past achievements. He was really was a BW great. However, I'm afraid his retirement is another good example of us overrating the elephants effect on the SC2 scene. We cannot buy back all the greatness that has been lost. SC2 has killed off Broodwar it seems increasingly clear that it is silly to expect all famous players of one game to rise to the very top of another, substantially different game. The signings of Sea and Jaedong have been trophy signings for the western scene--sort of like Liquid and EG hanging the heads of a big game animals on the wall of their hunting lodges, and I'm not sure that's the kind of tableau benefits either the elephants or the teams. As sad as it is to see Sea off already (and I liked watching his stream--I'm as much an APM-fan as anyone) but there is a kind of predictability to this mess. Nostalgia doesn't steer competitive teams to good places.

Yeah, he only carried MBC to win proleague title. Not like that counts as a major title anyway. There are overrated players on Liquid, but Sea is not one of them.
I`m sorry but after reading the lines that quickseeker translated I feel I bit betrayed aswell. First of all, making salaries/streaming revenues public is not especially professional and 2500 dollars is a pretty ok income for a player that yet had to prove his worth in SC2. Second, when he joined TL he always spoke about his desire to learn English, travel, interact with the foreign community ... and now it all sounds as if everything just has been a matter of contract obligations. I certainly wish him all the best for his future, but making him an honorary member in TL is rather unjustified. I hope that in the future TL will go back to its roots and try to develop foreign talent.

I honestly think its Sea's thing what income is ok for him. But I agree with you second point, the whole thing here sounds to me as if both sides didn't had a clear image of the contract. Sounds like there were a lot of "little" things in the dark (like the streaming thing and stuff maybe, we don't know whats true and I dont wanna guess around ^^). Anyway, no bitching around without knowledge (even with no bitching..)... good luck Sea .
i dont even play terran but i tuned in to watch him play just because of how well he played and his personality i really wish him the greatest amount of success possible ^.^ glhf sea!
No surprise. This is something that has been in the air for a long time. He is one among many bw pros who don't see the value in sc2. Understandable if you have played the same game for 9 years. No surprise if players like Bisu or Calm join him soon :/
Good Luck Sea. You were never my favorite but you touched my heart when you entered TL for the first time long time ago and interacted with us. Wish you the best!

you ask if he went to a major tournament, but if you read the article theres a lot of talk in there about him having gone to that one major tournament hence, you either didnt read it, or you are godawful at reading

Good Luck Sea. You were never my favorite but you touched my heart when you entered TL for the first time long time ago and interacted with us. Wish you the best!
Wish you all the best from now on Sea, hope you find a job that make u happy SC2 is like a decease for many bw players and fans and also for the sport in Korea. It comes promoted very well as a something supperior, a fabricated RTS king, only to assimilate the greatest esport called starcraft and to expand the money income, decreasing the value as a sport. Result is lamentable when the best players in that sport start to lose interest and retire from that "bright future" or "new begining" that blizzard talked so much shit about. Just look at the crowd at Last BW OSL final and to the one from the first SC2 OSL final. SC2 has no power where the passion of BW were burning so strong. So FU blizzard for killing that art and culture!

I was watching his stream a bit, but it's pretty sad. He said he earned about 2,500,000 won ($2500 USD?) monthly, but it was a pure grind since he didn't enjoy the game at all. He's going to stream BW until he goes to the army. He yells out some random stuff everytime someone throws money at him. I guess some people find that entertaining. I thought it was disgusting.
Afreeca is basically a livestream 4chan. It's filled with cam whores (literally, girls do stuff n viewers give them money), cheaters like savior playing in a tournament, and retired pros doing various things like dancing w/ just underwears just to earn money. It's a shit hole.
Oh, and he earned about $200 already.
That's a tad harsh. The girls simply sit there, talk to the chat, play music and earn money. With a phrase like that you make it seem like some sort of smut website. Cheaters like savior were barred from entering the serious afreeca tournaments (like the ssl) - hell, savior is apparently even banned from listing his stream as a starcraft stream. Retired pros and amateurs alike treat afreeca for what it is. Entertainment. The fact is people love to interact with streamers and watch them do goofy stuff. If a girl dressing up in a banana costume singing 홍콩반점 or larva driving his chair like a motorcycle is weird to you then... Welcome to asia I guess? Dismissing it as the 4chan of streaming seems like misunderstanding an entire culture.
I should point out that afreeca is looking to expand internationally next year(English website, support, everything). Their model works extremely well in Korea so considering international starcraft2 viewers' usual generosity I'd say it has extreme potential if they manage to pull it off correctly.
Problem is that I really only know a small amount of people who played BW before and said they actually like SC2 more. Many more people state it is the other way around (the way like I personally see it as well) that SC2 isn't as fun as BW if you played BW before. Do not understand me wrong, I do not say that SC2 is a bad game, but much more that BW is just the best RTS out there. Yes probably SC2 Fans who didnt play BW at all cannot understand it, but please respect this. So if you was a fan of Sea (and not just a fan of the idea of a KeSPA Pro on a foreign team) then you hopefully understand his decission and maybe just maybe take 10 minutes of your life and watch him play a Broodwar game when he streams on Afreeca. And maybe just maybe you will see how much more fun BW is for someone who actually love that game, just like Sea probably does.
I am happy for Sea that he is not forced to do something he does not want to. Keep it up bro and GLHFGG in Army service
yea main reason he just does not have as much fun in sc2, i really think he should have stuck it out for a proleague season though to see if things got better.

BW just seems to have a bigger wow factor, like when you see flash play perfect mech tvp and splits the map and chokes them out and always times his goliathes perfectly for carriers(its like he doesnt even have to scan or scout to know when carriers are coming) it was just more epic and cut throat and the shitty ui made controlling 200/200 armies the way they did was so so so impressive(Late game SK terran vs mass base defiler ultra zerg with drops and nydus everywhere). Bring back plague and irradiate!!!!!!
Sea, it's been an absolute pleasure to watch you compete these past years. You should be proud of your achievements and I'm sure the world will always remember you as one of the terran greats.

He wanted to stream on afreeca because he could goof off a bit, assuming the translator I read that from isn't trolling.
<QuickStriker> Sea wasn't comfortable streaming in twitch but was required as a TL player (twitch sponsor with TL) <QuickStriker> and Sea prefer streaming in afreeca and having fun with viewers who are Koreans, who he can communicate and etc <QuickStriker> but on twitch, he feels it's just game game game, like an actual job with no fun <QuickStriker> and since TL didn't let him do his way <QuickStriker> also important to note that he wasn't making a lot in TL <QuickStriker> 2k-3k a month just streaming endlessly for TL <QuickStriker> but he said he had no fun <QuickStriker> b/c all he do was game game game, can't communicate with viewers b/c he dont know English <QuickStriker> and he wanted to stream on afreeca
Hmm, Interesting. I wonder though, was it in his personal contract? The streaming part. Because Taeja doesn't stream like ever, HerO stream when he wants to, Ret/Sheth/TLO/Nony all stream from time to time, but sometimes there are long breaks between their streams. So unless he had a special contract which required a lot of streaming, I think it might be not true at all.
So, Liquid needs do pick up a good player, A LOT of good players been drop'd, like slayers disband, Quantic (STC is teamless), and Liquid was only watching and doing nothing. They need to pick up backups asap, they're gettin ripped at team leagues. Btw Nony, Sheth and TLO arent in their best shapes
SC2 is just not that good of a competitive game, the coin flippiness is too frustrating as pro(for us noobs it doesn't matter). Unless like one of the other posters said, that he didn't enjoy streaming on twitch, who knows. Anyways, enjoyed watching you in BW Sea, GL in life man.

Its because Blizzard wanted to make their game, as simple as possible so even the laziest gamers can play it and by that to sell more. At the same time they want to make it biggest and brightest esport in the world, but they failed on this one because the game is too shallow for entertainment that we used to see in BW leagues.
It should be perfect if sc2 was made even deeper than bw and with new easy interface the level of awesomness should be highly increased. Sport is about hard training and overcoming your limits, so its enough that they put so much money in tourneys and advertisement to make people want to practice really hard, but instead they tried to take 2 watermellons with one hand and failed miserably on most important thing entertainment value. Its really sad what great culture Blizzard have killed in Korea, i cannot deal with it.
Still there is hope in the third expansion of the game that bliz will take care of it as it should be done after they have attracted enough gamers to buy their shit. Cards are in their hands and we will see if they care about fans and art the game can become or they are just greedy low people.

Kids who have fun are now weird? lol. If you actually knew something about bw history and his past you'd know he led his former team MBCGame to victory in 2006 by reaching the first place of Proleague
he led the team?? I dont think so. He was a random kiddi3

Sea went 15 - 6 that proleague season and won the ace match in the grand finals. Go back to your hole kiddie.
In my opinion this is a great example for the future. For people that want to become a progamer.
Look at all his dedication he had. Still after 7 years he didnt make it to the top and basically never achieved anything (yeye Liquipedia says he got 2xTop2 but thats 5 years ago). I feel sad for him but i think its the right move that he quit. To much time was spent for nothing (IMO).
Lets hope hes more lucky/succesful/happy in his future careers.

lol Never thought I'd see the day when someone would call the King of Proleague a "random kiddie".
Sea didn't win any Starleagues but he had a great career. He didn't fulfill his full potential in individual leagues and there were periods of ups and downs but I'm sure if you ask him, he really enjoyed progaming, especially the POS/early MBC years. He anchored what was a brilliant MBC team back then to a historic win over a star-studded T1. People underestimate how important it was to win the Proleague.
Positively the most fun to watch consistently joyful terran on stream. Never would have thought he'd leave on such a high but at least he gets to leave on a high note. WP and glhf

So you're not successful unless you win a championship? You do know he's probably had more success playing BW than doing anything else he could possibly do competitively.

yeah there should be at least one active terran and one more toss in the active roster. Have the feeling that all foreign teams only consist of zerg except mouz...

Don't worry he is currently playing BW and with the oversaturation in SC2. I really don't *sea* a problem with a BW super star deciding that he just prefers BW over SC2 even though he isn't making nearly as much money.

sure, but what remains is that he never won a major title and further let TL down who trusted and invested in him . He therefore is/will be forgotten or just stay in peoples mind as the weird childish kid who was just not too mature for da real biz
