whoever wins drg/mc should be humiliated in the finals imho, at the form their having atm i dont see how they would reach the ro4 without luck, for drg it was beating a current code B player Oz, and for MC it was PvP..........

DRG made the Ro8 by beating MKP though and it was a really good game. People get lucky draws all the time (see Naniwa in Code S and there are so many other examples.) DRG was due for a lucky draw (getting Oz that is), it seems he always gets the group of death or at least one of the tougher groups.

ik, i saw that game, but that was really DRGs only top tier game, preparing for mkps mech play on ohana really nicely. his other win was against jangbi, which doesnt count since jangbi pressed the wrong button on his sentry which led to his death

Good write up, few criticisms though...

Rain > PartinG really isn't an upset at this point

And MC is a favorite to win it all? Really? I'd say if there was a poll ''who do you think will win it'' and only included Rain/MC/other then it'd be 55/30/15

It kind of is. We know rain is good but he was expected to 'maybe' get out of the groups in code s. so basically until the season is over every win he gets over an esf player will be considered an upset

I will be really surprised if MC loses to DRG. Its an issue of momentum really. Its not that DRG isn't a great player, its that he just doesn't have the edge lately to be that much better than everyone else. MC has the edge. MC has ALWAYS had that edge. He is MC.

Last vs Rain will only be interesting if Last wins unfortunately. Either result won't say much about either player. The sad truth is that if Last doesn't win the tournament then Last will not be recognized as a top teir contender. People will still be skeptical, willing to write it off as fluke and happenstance in a young OSL tournament with many inexperienced players. Rain doesn't have that burden. Even if he loses to Last he will have a lot of momentum behind him. Lose OSL and win GSL? People will still be calling him the number 1 protoss in the world.

Veering off topic some, I want to see Rain win OSL but lose to Life in the finals of GSL. Just because it would be great to watch the forums go ape shit trying to figure out just what that means.

As much as I like both DRG and MC, I really want MC to bring it and win OSL. I feel like his story would be far more historic.

Shocked anyone thinks either ESF player would be 'humiliated' in the finals though. I guess you're only good if you've made a Ro4 GSL in the last month.

Expecting so much lag again for the stream though, so would appreciate more write ups so I can actually tell what happened.

Thorough report, but a little hard to read when you involve more players than the two in the given series. I understand Rain vs. Parting, but when you begin reciting Squirtle's actions from some other tournament in the same paragraph - it takes a lot of backtracking to understand what's going on. It's all Protoss versus Protoss, after all.

Fun read nonetheless. ^.^

Fair enough. I'll probably stay way from referencing other games so much like I did in this series. I thought it was a good storyline though. ^^

Please keep doing things like this, it was an amazing read and I came out of it feeling like I'd really learned a few things about PvP.
On a purely personal note, I'd like to show Yellow the beauty of infinitely repeating Starcraft 2 bunkers. -Boxer

I hate to say this, but even though the analysis of the two protoss armies is quite impressive, it boils down to the fact that Rain had 2 more colossus, so he won

Am I the only one who thinks the SC2 OSL is kind of ruining the prestige of the tournament? I for one will be heavily discounting them. I don't think whoever wins this OSL quite deserves to be considered in the same light as the BW OSL champions.

Come on Rain and MC

I would love to see the Protoss President swept off his feet in the finals questioning his candidacy for President of the race that we call Protoss.

I want to see MC and Rain reach the finals where MC wins 4-0.

1, because MC asserts his Protoss presidency, and 2, for those who get the joke

I don't feel good with this tournament... And I don't know why...

I mean there are sick games, sick players, sick stories (gogo Rain ! ^_^), awesome recap by TL (and that's my only source of info about it), and still, it's like it has been under the radar all along...

It would be awesome to avoid a ZvP or PvP as a final, but I don't see Last winning this... Rain is just too good, it'd take a huge upset for Last to advance...

Personally, this was the best post match review I've read of a series so far in SC2.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)
