There’s going to come a day when we’ve all grown up, had a career, maybe got married and had kids, when were all going about our daily routine. The person from the cast of a movie that changed your life, or the character who you scrolled through page after page of fanfiction of. You haven’t heard that name in a long time, and it brings everything back. And then the name is followed by three words you thought you’d never hear. Has Passed Away. And then you put down the potato peeler and lean back against your kitchen bench, or you pull over to the side of the road, and tears are streaming down your face. And all over the world, there are people who used to be just like you, with tears marking their cheeks and sobs forcing their way out of their throat, because they remember. Because fandoms never really die out. We never really move on. We never really forget.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't even know KT Violet existed until I happened to see the news headline. At first I thought it was in reference to AZUBU Violet and I was instantly shocked. Then I noticed it was a different Violet. I checked out his page on the TL wiki and after reading around on his fanpage, it was obvious what a passionate and friendly person he was. In particular, his willingness to try his hand at English amongst his foreign fans was so admirable (althought it was broken, it still conveyed his message with unmistakable sincerity). To think that to me, a person who only knew of him when he was already gone, feels so sad at this makes me wonder how his long-term fans, friends and family must feel.

RIP buddy - optimism, passion and friendliness like yours is something we need more of in this world and it's a damn pity we just lost some of it.

i didnt relly watch brood war, but this is sad.
just so there is not any missunderstandings, this is not the sc2/wc3 violet.
i never followed this violet, but its still relly sad every time someone dies young.

I keep coming to TL and I keep being reminded of this and It makes me quite sad. Goes to show though that the community cares for its players and the love and support of like minded people crosses culture barriers and brings people closer together!

Whenever i hear about someone my age/younger whos already passed i always feel i should be doing more with my life. Especially when its someone whos been a leader in their field. Out of all the BW players Violet was one who made an effort to communicate with the fans. RIP
