SC2 and SC1 are one of those games that's highly dependent on motivation and drive. Too many people think it's about age, but really, it's mostly because they've been playing nonstop for over 10 years and it's hard to put in the same amount of overtime practice as the younger players. You can't be comfortable with just 8 hours a day when the guy next to you trains 12 hours a day.

Farewell Jinro! I really hope to see you again around the esports scene one day =)

During my trip to Korea two weeks ago, I bought a Jinro shirt (the liquor brand, not a TL shirt), and you were the first person I thought about (no homo). Living in Canada, I didn't know about soju, or Jinro for that matter, before I knew about you.The picture I took with you during MLG Providence is one of my favorite pictures for the event.

There are two games of you that will forever be engraved in my mind. The first one being the one during which you thor rushed MC on Jungle Bassin. And the second one was the one (against NaDa I think, not sure) on Terminus during which you BC rushed and won quite impressively. Those two are two of the coolest and most memorable games that, for some reason, just stay perfectly engraved in my mind.

I wish you good luck and much success for your future endeavors. Jinro fighting!

Sad to see you retire, but best of luck in whatever you decide to do besides poker/BJJ. I was always a huge fan of yours as a person when the FrozenArbiter fought righteously for the colorblind in a thread I made a few years back (under DA1D5). You probably won't see this but thanks for everything you have done.

Jinro is the original great white hope, and more impressively, the original macro terran. He actually pioneered a style that will be used until the end of the game. I'm glad that he could make this decision and move on with his life with no regrets. He is a shining example to all within the industry and I am incredibly happy that the scene was graced with his presence. May you become as successful at poker as Elky, Jonathan. I wish you the best of luck. Drink some Jinro to celebrate (not really, I had some in Tokyo, it's bad).

I wasn't a fan but you leaving gives me a melancholy feeling. I find it honestly more hard-hitting than all of those esports controversies, mergers, signings, and other retirements put together.
