Although, I will say that I don't think that being on Liquid comes with inflated expectations, as you say. Bar HerO and Taeja, and kind of Ret, no one's been doing that great lately. Or for a while. *Shrug* I don't know, it just doesn't seem to me that Liquid is all that impressive as a team overall. As a foreigner team? Yes. But, competing with teams like Prime, NSHoSeo, IM, etc., just isn't realistic for Liquid without HerO and Taeja.

I personally feel like Power Rankings are better for large open bracket tournaments such as MLG or IPL. For a small tournaments that use mass group stages, Power Rankings may not be completely indicative of how well a player may do. After all, it's guaranteed that 16 players will be eliminated after the first group stage and there's not as many throwaway players for the notable players to get free wins off of. Plus, to be honest, there were too many Europeans attending this tournament that just blended in with one another. Also, not too many players in this tournament. It's more exciting to do a 40 person power ranking in a 200 person tournament.

"But you still watch, because when you least expect it, something incredible happens. Things like snapping Stephano's 33 win ZvP streak" (33? T.T) " Also I feel like Zerg has a slight edge vs Protoss right now." (I love the use of slight - Z progamer, kinda has to say it) "Any particular players your fear or are looking to avoid?" "Any good Terran" (love the way he says "good" terran, I completely understand, pure gold.) Gogo babyK, great guy, great stream and played some 2v2s <3

And yes, Stephano won 33 games in a row against Protoss before that. :p

I don't watch all the weekly online cups just larger tournaments but is BratOK even still playing? I followed him in BW during TSL but I've only seen him play once in SC2.

TL power ranks are done really meticulously when 3-5 people do their own rankings then negotiate an acceptable final rank. This process can take up to 6-7 man-hours. The people doing them also watch more SC than 99.99% of SC2 viewers. No matter how well you do a rank, you'll have people disagreeing however. I propose that perhaps it's more likely that the general public experiences foreigner bias given how much more exposure the average foreigner gets over the average Korean. Also, what Prplppleatr is talking about isn't a Power Rank, but rather a Draft Review.
