I thought it was alright, personally, however I can't help but feel like it was made for people who already know about these players. It would be really hard for someone who doesn't know very much about esports to hear djwheat or day9 or hotbid talk about the players and give their opinions on them and find them to be meaningful. Outside of the esports community people don't know who day9 is and with the way the video was done you still wouldn't know who day9 was and why his voice mattered.

All in all, I'd like to give it an 8/10 because I liked it haha, but from a critic standpoint I'd say it's about a 6/10. Production was good but content was biased towards already informed perspectives.

I REALLY hope more things like this are done!

Nice work.

By the way maybe add more amounts to the list. Maybe it will entice people rather than coming up with a number. I just punched 10$ the first time.

For those wanting to pay more after a first payment. Log off then choose contribute and redo the inital process (including tl login in that window). I did it and it worked just fine.

Lol, I was thinking of the EXACT same comparison that TLO made about HuK moving to EG right before he said it ^^

Can't stop laughing at Jinro's nighttime shenanigans either.

Good, but not really what I expected.

Very good interviews, I learned a lot about each player that I didn't previously know, but it isn't the kind of thing to introduce people to esports (although I know that isn't the purpose.)

Also, it seemed a bit odd that almost every player on the team was said to be capable of being "the best player in the world, if it wasn't for ____________ (insert excuse here)." It just felt like slight hyperbole to me. Almost like a cop out.

But I love TL and I enjoyed watching this. Thanks for making it happen!

Ugh. Just..... What is wrong with saying that someone could be the best in the world. ANYONE can. What makes someone more special over someone else. Its no cop out, thats what people say when they feel better than others. They are progamers, but they are people. People have to overcome themselves in order to be the best. They are a family, a team, a community, everything. There is no cop out about any of them.

This documentary achieved the impossible, it make Liquid look even more sympathic. Every single player seems so likeable and the koreans perspective on the team was very interesting and funny. Let's say. Hero seems to be a very honest guy.

Just finished it, gave $30 because I loved it so much.

I really like the concept of it, well respected and known personalities in the community as well as other players on the team talk about one person. You get to see new sides of each of the players. Also wonderful artwork, design and effects.

AND I LOVED THE SOUNDTRACK! Was fitting awesomely well, I need a play list cause I would love to support the artists in buying their music.

Best moments for me, just finished watching. (Spoilers!) in no particular order

  • Jinro slapping HotBid in his sleep - LOL
  • Sheth explaining the story of his alias
  • Jinro showing the hole he punched in the wall - Haha
  • Nazgul reflecting on HuK's shift to EG
  • Day9 explaning his experience of HerO winning Dreamhack
  • TLO and the $120 sand
  • Nazgul story about Ret and the Dreamhack perfomance
  • TLO telling the story about PG and his T-shirt signed by Nazgul when he was 12

- So worth it, so good... Had to go and post in Sheth's fan-thread right after I watched it, what a Hero... Heroes all

The documentary was quite good. I feel it needed opinion from players about guys like Hotbid, Nazgul, because they also put a lot of work for making this team awesome, especially Nazgul. Also it really needed more "inside" footage and more about team formation. Most of the information was already known it felt that it needed so much more about tough times and, for example, decisions why some players were picked up. But in the end it's still very nice documentary. Thanks Krukar

lol @ TLO picking having sex with an actress and saying he could always win MLG next year, while the rest of the team would rather win a major tournament. <3 TLO and Team Liquid.

I enjoyed watching it as a fan, but from a film standpoint, that wasn't a great documentary. It didn't really have any information that would be useful for a non-starcraft/TL fan, and it didn't have very much new or interesting information on TL or the players either for those of us who follow the scene. Production value wasn't poor, but there wasn't any real visual interest and the music chosen was pretty cheesy. I would rather have seen an "outsider's" perspective on TL and the SC2 scene in general, and sort of an artistic take on what it means to be a progamer. I would like to see some depth I guess. As it is, it was just a bunch of interviews with TL guys. We see those all the time, bring us something new :/ As far as documentaries go, it doesn't have a lot of value. As far as TL propaganda goes, it's not that great either. I can only really see this being important to someone who is new to the scene, but already an interested part of it, who wants a quick refresher course on Team Liquid.

i feel like i can echo this alot.

i enjoyed the movie, but as someone seriously follows starcraft, there wasnt much here. the story of TLO getting his handle was great as well the Hotbid slapping story. but Fishuu's art made up a good portion of that as well. but other than that, not much. in truth, i enjoyed listening to Nazghoul talk the most because it was new and insightful, and coming from someone we dont actually hear talk ever.

the four main things i took away from this;

1: Nazghoul is probably the most interesting and underrated person in e-sports

2: This movie reminded why i enjoyed TL as a team, and forgot about the growing shortcomings of the community

3: Hero talks painfully slow. seriously one line of subtitles would take 15-20 seconds. i wanted to just fast forward ahead everytime he came on because i would read the subtitles before his face would appear on screen half the time.

4: just dont really like TLO

overall, a good movie, but i doubt i need to watch it again.

I kinda agree with that, but i feel it's because they do genuinely feel the players they have on their team are capable of being one of the best players in the world if it was wasn't for ______. Thus the reason they are on the team in the first place. I don't think it was to purposely create hyperbole although when watching it from a neutral perspective it seems that way.

It was really well made, i didn't learn a great deal that i didn't already know but i think for people who don't follow esports almost religiously but still share a passion for it, it is a great watch. I have no regrets donating my money towards it before watching at least because i feel this sort of content should be encouraged and i'm a big believer in offering things for free with the option for you to pay what you feel the product is worth.
