and congratulations to alive for the win
Yea I feel like booing is uncalled for. I agree aLive has no personality or edge but its not like he scv all ins every game. People focus too much on what the player is like and not the kind of games they put out. aLive shows impressive play especially in his rediculous tvt, he just doesnt show anything else.

I think that Alive deserves the win and congrats to him! He played amazing this tournament!
But i would be interested if somebody could comment on the games Nestea vs. Alive. I am glad for Nestea that he came back in a strong manner, like he didn't a long time. And 3rd place is still amazing!
BUT: I don't get one thing. Nestea is being bunker rushed almost every game by Terrans, and in almost all games that he lost to Alive/Terrans, there were Bunker rushes in the beginning. These Bunker rushes usually throw the Zerg Player behind, if they dont kill him right away. The Terran, even if he executes horribly, still has almost no disadvantage at all, while the Zerg has to execute perfectly, otherwise he is behind.
Maybe I'm wrong, but i think that Nestea loses most of his games against Terran when he is thrown off by a Bunker rush at the beginning, and his 56% win rate against T proves that. His other matchups have a much bigger win ratio. I also have the theory that the skill of a player is best measured in mirror matchups, but that's another story.
So maybe there are a lot of posts about this, but what do you think about this games/topic specifically in the IPL4?

Congrats to Alive, i wouldve loved a Nestea vs Mkp Matchup in the finals but whatever. Great tourney and event.

Actually thinkign back. aLive does have some personality. It's just really straight foward. Not sure if you guys remember but the show match he had with idra was pretty funny. 6poll?

yes, i also was very sad about that. I rooted for squirttle too, but alive really deserved the win. He will get a good sleep in bed, and then he will be more happy about that i hope.

Seriously? People where booing after Alive won? I am really ashamed at American eSports or at least the audience at IPL4 (I know not everyone booed so don't get all personal on me). I mean almost everyone did want Squirttle to win he came from the Open brackets fought his way up and almost made it. But seriously immature of those people who booed, if you didn't like that Alive won just don't cheer its as simple as that. Booing should be reserved for an actual reason. (See Naniwa pause game trash talk MLG while in game).
But anyway i think fatigue won that tournament i mean even his Nestea beat Squirttle both of these players where just dead tired. But i don't mean to take away anything form Alive he eared his win beating terran powerhouses but i think it could of gone differently if Nestea or Squirttle weren't just dead. But a champion should have the heart of one and pull through, at least Squirttle getting attention now.

Not sure why anyone would ever boo a player at an event like this. I have been to MLG orlando and Red Bull Lan and no one booed. Is it possible that the mix of alcohol being served at the event and squirtles comeback caused this?

What an amazing tournement, I really have to give props to the casters, crowd and players, it was an epic weekend of amazing starcraft.
I want to give a special shoutout to Megumixbear, she asked the most insightful and intelligent questions of any interviewer besides day9 that i've seen, from any tournement. All Interviewers need to take a lession from her fine example of how to ask good questions.
"How do you feel?! Do you think you will win?!" are pointless and stupid questions to ask, and Interviewers accross the board need to stop asking them and put more thought into their questions.

I guess it is the best time to remember this words: "No one gets out of here ALIVE!"

Quite happy that aLive won it all - I think he's a very underrated player and deserves some silverware. I'm also glad Squirtle was able to make it so far - I've figured him as one of the strongest Protoss players in Korea ever since I saw play against Stephano in Korea. I haven't seen the finals yet but I'll give them a watch asap.
Speaking of which, Stephano may not have won but he did his fans proud with some incredible play. His only disappointing series was his last.

he came out alive

I didn't hear any booing in the live audience, but it was really anti-climatic. One of the most amazing come backs ever by Squirtle in the previous game, and 5 amazing games with great play by both players, and then a couple B.O. losses in very unspectacular fashion to finish it was just meh.
Not to mention the crowd was nearly 1/2 the size by the end of the finals, everyone there was really tired and the last day just ran too long. Maybe next time IPL can look into less games on the last day or something, because it really finished on a down by comparison to the other days/matches which were crazy fun.
Overall the event was fantastic, I got to watch maybe the best TvT ever in the open bracket, stood behind Ganzi watching him vs Dragon, a 38 minute TvT with nukes and battle cruisers from the craziest control and camera hotkeys I've ever seen, BW replays included. He never watched engagements, he just queued up his unit commands then moved on to the next task. (And at the end of the game, oh shi........ I have to play the loser of this series)
