Yeah, if MVP never got that wrist problem I don't think anyone could take him down. :D

MMA will win it all, definitely. MKP still is not better than MMA.

MKP Fighting!
I hope NesTea has a good run too.

Love this list. Hope MarineKing meets MVP, in his current form he should easily dispose of him giving him a lot of confidence!
Feel like TvT is the only way MarineKing can fall with this many amazing Terrans but he knows the playstyles of the most dangerous Terrans (Byun, Maru, Bomber, MMA) and should be able to beat them.

The powerrank seems quite accurate, atleast very similar to what i had in mind. Great article!
Can't wait to see IPL and maybe some upsets

Pretty good list, agree on most parts of it.
Man this weekend is gonna be so sick, IPL4, GSTL Finals and SPL Finals all at once, so pumped

Great post...glgl Stephano!

Very good read.I am more hyped after that and kinda agree with almost everything!

I don't quite agree with Bomber at #10, otherwise pretty good. I think HerO could easily take higher spots if his nerves wouldn't interfere, I've seen him beat players above him frequently.

didnt nestea go 0-2 and mvp go 1-2

Congrats on the accomplishment MKP!! Keep it up, can't wait to see you win more!!

A lot of sons of the usual over-hype before a tournament.
MVP, Bomber, Leenock, Hero, Puma, are all in places they don't deserve, for what they showed recently.

Tough times for Terran, only 6 in top 10, and the 3 at the top 3. Unheard of such tough times, the other races must be op.

What makes you think that? The only player he beat in more than just 1 Bo3 was jjakji in the IPL showmatch. He has a losing record against almost everyone above him. Judging by skill Hero should be hardly making the Top20. But I guess he gets a bonus because he knowns foreign tournaments and has performed well under these circumstances.

Open Bracket: Bracket 1: #4 Leenock #5 Parting #11 Oz #19 Ganzi Bracket 2: #13 HerO #16 Curious Bracket 3: #8 MVP #20 GhostKing (fka Byun) Bracket 4: #3 Jjakji #17 HuK #18 Taeja #20 Maru
Looks like MVP in Bracket 3 and Jjakji in Bracket 4 are highly favored to get through, Bracket 1 will have the best games (unpredictable), and Bracket 2 probably either HerO or Curious (HerO slightly favored there).
And then there'll be the Loser's Bracket.

sc2 community will go ballistic if mkp wins again.

Definitely do not agree with jjakji and Parting's placements on the list.
|
MKP shouldn't be #1. MMA is still 10 times the player he is. I'd have parting top 3 as well. MMA will win easily though.
|
Jjakji is most certainly not 15 ranks better than Taeja, or 17 ranks better than Maru, or even 9 ranks better than Polt. Especially not in a foreign tournament environment. Those are huge differences that imply not only that Jjakji is an overwhelmingly better player (which in itself is debatable), but that he's that much better even when taking into account that it's his first experience competing abroad in a one weekend tournament format. Which is just wildly unrealistic, actually it's straight up inaccurate.
Ditto for Parting, although he's somewhat more experienced but also somewhat less impressive than Jjakji to compensate.

This just seems so... random. Not bad per se, there's not a thing that one could just point at and call out BS. Well, the HuK thing, OK, but at this point it's more of an inside joke.
Maybe it's a sign of the pro gaming top being more equal and therefore hard to objectively tier. Or maybe the ranking is entirely pulled out of a nydus network. History will decide ;-)
(loved the "not a ranking of everyone's chances to win the tournament" bit though, I have a thing for lampshading, though some meanie heads might still point out when people ranked lower on PR outclass ones put higher in 1v1 ;-) )
