Yes, there is a limit. I would suggest to purchase the passes right away. The longer you wait, the higher likelihood is that you won't get a player pass due to it selling out.
Please note the change in pass sales. Player Passes will be available for purchase Monday, February 20th at 7 PM ET for Gold Members, and Tuesday, February 21st at 7 PM ET for everybody else.

hmm this change should probably be more public, as ive been looking around on where to buy them when they were originally supposed to go live in an hour. As i dont quite remember how it worked last year.

the Competitor passes are sold out is there any other way to go about getting them.. I remember the previous MLG's some of the spots were saved for previous competitors is this not the case anymore?

any info on when the streaming will commence on the 24th of march (saturday)? we are from austria and want to make a barcraft and need to know when it will start approximately. we want to announce it asap, so many people will know....

Definitely looking forward to this. What really makes these events special over the GSL, NASL or Dreamhack formats is the possibility of a complete darkhorse to come out of the open brackets and go deep in the tournament.

Hey guys, I really need some help I went to buy a competitor pass today, and it says that they are ALL sold out! I already have a hotel booked and everything I just didn't have a credit card for a few days so I was unable to purchase my competitor pass until today. Idk what to do?!?! I really want to compete but if they are sold out how do I do that?
Is there anyone that has a pass they aren't going to use, or bought an extra one or ANYTHING really? I just need a pass, I have been waiting the last two months for these to go on sale and now it looks like I'm not even going to be able to play  my heart is breaking and all I can hope is that someone sees this and PM's me telling me they bought an extra or something. I need help!

I like the pool distribution, a lot of players out there are pretty confidant of placing top 8, so it means in the end their stay would be paid for at the least. And you guys are by far the fastest to pay out to players.

Afaik, the competitor passes are linked to MLG IDs, so you would have to play with someone else's ID if they sold it to you. Also, I believe they want you to show a proof of ID (driver license) at the door, so that may complicate things...

Currently, passes are sold out. If more become available, we'll make an announcement. It is a 256 team bracket.

That's not true. If a person can't go, and they'd like to sell it, they can email the commissioner to have it transferred over to the other username. Please PM me for further details.

Just wanted to say, that if anyone else ends up not being able to attend the event, and had bought a competitor pass, I'd be willing to buy it from you! I was waiting to see this thread pop up, but I must of missed it and never realized they went on sale till Sundance tweeted they were all gone. Thanks a lot!

Technically there is; however, spectator passes have never sold out. I would still suggest to purchase online though so you don't have to risk waiting in a longer line.

hey im wondering approx. what time on friday the event will kick off? i know the schedule hasn't been released yet but do you have any idea?

They usually start @5:30 and games begin @6PM. Since it's in Columbus, it's probably safe to assume sometime between 6 and 7PM EST.
Edit: Also, would like to know when groups will be announced. It was exciting to have the group announcement show for Winter Arena. I'd also like to see Nestea do well, so if you could give him time to prepare for his group that would be sweet.

This is not correct.
The welcome speech is usually at 5 PM local time (EST in this case) and the games begin at 5:30 PM local time (EST in this case.
Matches are started right on time, and if late by more than 15 minutes, you would forfeit your match.
So I would get there by 5 PM ET (no later) because you need to first check-in and receive your player wristband.

As for the groups, they will be announced as soon as possible.
