Good question! As we have no legal way to provide booze to 10,000 people, the hotel will have 3 bars set up in the main hall for the sale of alcohol.
Is it too early to start thinking of other epic BarCraft names?
BarCraft X: Gaiden BarCraft Armageddon Final BarCraft Final BarCraft II Final BarCraft III Super BarCraft II: Arcade Edition Banelings, BarCraft, and Beyond BarCraft 2: Drinks of Liberty BarCraft 2: Barf of the Swarm BarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void that can only be filled with alcohol BarCraftia BarCraft: Brewed War (by Dee-kej) World of BarCraft (by Mithriel)
Looking forward to it, hope you guys get more community support and I'll do what I can to spread the word!

is it possible to get this streaming the GSL finals inside of blizzcon or even potentially the main stage stuff? I know it's a long shot but that would be so effing amazing I'd just cry tears of ESPORT supporting success.
Can you Byob or is it hotel purchase only? Thats the real question here. Those bars with a ton of ppl will be uber packed! i wonder if i can get down there in time for this on that particular day, got a lot going on 20-23. Would be so worth it tho.
Where's Incontrol when you need to hype-up an announcement... Seriously, more people would have heard about the event if you had tried to keep it secret. Hope enough people show up to make it a success even with the short notice.

You get to watch from home, do well on your exams, get a great job, and pay it forward to the next generation of eSports fans! This party is as much for you as it is for someone in Anaheim. I just wish we could have everyone in one place.
Cool to see they got Diggity pushing this. He's always been a talented figure in the community that I feel doesn't get enough recognition. I hope the turn out matches their expectations. With Blizzcon so close, it should.
I wont be able to go because i live in Venezuela!!.. Could i go to a barcraft here? No i cant because there is no gaming comunity here so no barcrafts... damn! T_T

Agreed, I love Diggity's work so much. Especially when he gets his hands on some beer.

I thought the whole point of it was watch an event at a bar while having a drink with peers who share the same interest?
What do you think it is now?
Well, this ultimate barcraft seems like its just an after party for blizzcon with guests and such. They're not really there to sit down, stare at a monitor, and watch some games played.
This seems insanely awesome. Normally I don't have any cravings to live in any other country, but right now I sternly wish I lived anywhere close this event.
While I do agree it's not quite what I imagine Barcraft to be (no games) it does sound quite awesome.
I do wonder how many people this venue fits though. For that matter, how do you have any idea what size venue to get? If it's too small it'd be a pain, too large and you'll feel silly.

This one gets my vote! Wish I could come but unfortunately don't have the funds to fly over from Australia. Have fun all, I'll be sure to watch the broadcast!

Absolutely awesome. Everybody needs to go follow their twitter and like their Facebook. Ask anybody, those small things help and show some sort of credibility.

World of Barcraft?
These names remind me of my bachelor party theme: Cutting the Wings of Liberty.

I wish this was reddit so i could upvote the fuck out of you lol
Edit: Honestly though - i don't fully get this.. It'd be one thing if there were games to watch together but this seems more like an industry event with mingling and free food... Kinda loses the spirit of Barcraft.

Considering the GSL finals and the Blizzcon Invitational will be happening the days preceding it is not very feasible to run an in house match.
Also in my personal opinion the "Spirit of Barcraft" is drawing people together around esports.

Agreed. There were numerous times when I was watching games in the dorms with a few friends and I would think "wouldn't it be awesome if thousands of people could get together and watch this game in the US?" When I would attend a BW LAN at my school, it amazed me how many people could be brought together by the game. I was blown away by how much attention SC2 brought to the scene shortly afterward.
So its even mind blowing to me that this "barcraft" phenomenon is one huge step to having StarCraft and competitive gaming being acknowledged by western audiences. It extends to something beyond an online fad.

That's the best name I've heard for it! LOL!! Ultimate Barcraft is pretty..... accurate, but this is the winner to me.
The hell. When i tought 500 people at a barcraft was a lot. But this...is huge. But kinda normal since there are so many celebrities involved. Too bad i cant go
If you really are expecting a 10-15k turnout for this - seeing as donations are failing why not just charge a $2 admission pp. Small fee and if you get the numbers then you would cover your costs.

No. We could just as easily charge the stream to watch. It is free to attend and free to watch.
Considering the huge numbers of live audience members we've seen on sc2 events lately this will probably be chaotically full of people. But as such it is awesome of course. Lets hope this gets so big it gets into the mainstream media outlets somehow.
Just got nerd chills...possibly could be because I have the A/C cranked up. Either way sounds like an amazing event, wish i didn't live in the middle of butt fuck nowhere (AKA Canada).

Well currently donations are 2% of the projected amount. So where is the money coming from ;\
I think my friends and I will all go to this. I thought of putting 3 blue shots or 4 orange shots in a row and yelling "Line Em Up!" then drinking. Get HYPE!
Sick venue. I'm really looking forward to watching those 3 shows on the stream. If this runs smooth it will definitely be the coming of age of the scene.
And on that note: BarCraft: The Bar Mitzvah edition

Yeah, it fell through, there's a long thread on reddit about it. Apparently it's not 100% transparent, so don't expect any solid answers as to why it's not going on anymore. They are however doing a Live on Three event... LIVE. But that's on Friday at the Hilton near Blizzcon. Not sure if anyone will go to that though, since it's not quite the same thing. I recommend people just attend their local BarCrafts on Saturday for the GSL Finals instead. And I hope your local BarCrafts don't fall through either! Good luck!
