I can really understand his decision and I dont blame him for leaving TL, its just the way he left and it was definitely the "asshole"-variant. You cant treat a team that has done so much for you like that.
Still, gl Huk - its your life, do what ever you want, but I doubt watching any of your games or cheer for you in any tournament. So you are not allowed to move on to a better salary? Why is that? Will you do the same if another company wants to hire you, but up your salary quite alot? Money might move the world, but there are other things also. And many people decline better salaries for whatever reason, your coworkers being one of them.
As for your first question, of course he is allowed, no one is preventing him. But in the same vein people can move on from being his fans.
Good for me I never was big fan of his, recently started becoming one, but that will easily stop now I am sad for Liquid and his teammates.

And EG continues to buy arrived players in every corner of e-sport.
How about they grow a player/team on their own for a change. The manchester city/chelsea of e-sports, makes me very sad and even a little angry.
Best luck to Huk, you cant just say no to a generous offer.

Oh Lord it just dawned on me now. I knew confirmed with absolute certainty EGHuk at 390ish in the announcement thread, at around 1400 KST iirc. It has been 2+ days that that thread was running, and the last 24 hours have been totally insane, like llama insane. If from a fans point of view it was extremely anxiety-inducing, i can't imagine how it must have been for TL, especially Nazgul!
Be strong Nazgul!

If anyone is looking for a bright side to this...
as unfortunate as this is, this is E-sports taking its first steps to becoming "legit". Contract negotiations are a part of every other sport, and thats becoming the case now

Sad to see you go, Huk. I can't say I don't hate your decision but at the same time I respect it. Business is business - that's the way of life. I have always rooted for you and that won't change regardless of your tag.
Good luck bud, go get em!

NA training house, sending IdrA to Korea.
That does benefit the foreign scene.

TLO is so piss about Huk moving away that he purposely doing stupid stuff and throwing games away

To do this, EG must have offered him a lot. Maybe twice the amount Liquid did?

I almost fucking cried reading this article, OMG.

Who are these "people"? no it's not 6 figures, the original source said "close to 6 figures" and then everyone just spread the news as 6 figures either way, it's a huge deal for him and i can understand why he did it who's the "original source" anyways? i don't believe it's that much money Oo The original source was from a reddit comment made by an ex-coL employee. The post was:
"jenzebubble (_) 76 points 1 day ago* (90|17) 1. HuK will be staying in Korea. The plan is for him to get an apartment. 2. Salary is rumored to be right around six figures. 3. EG aggressively pursued him. This has been in the works for a while. 4. I'm told there is a new sponsor and this sponsor's influx of money is what made this deal possible. (Say what you want about EG, from a business stand point they set the standard for North American organizations) 5. This is news to most (this had been "very few", it should have always been most) people "in-the-know". Apparently if you are female and have MSN HuK has been willing to tell you for a while. 6. Rumor has it that Team Liquid has signed a Protoss to replace HuK. That I am less sure of so that's all I'll say about that. This is likely not the last major move for EG, but nothing else is signed/100% confirmed."
When asked how the information was obtained:
"jenzebubble (_) 20 points 1 day ago* (26|4) A friend, who is a manager of a team, asked me if I thought EG had signed HuK. He was convinced that they had. Knowing that EG had just threw money n0thing's way and with CS:GO having just been announced -- I thought it more likely that it was something CS:GO related. That said, my friend is usually right so I decided to look into it. What I found is this: if you have any tie to the professional StarCraft2 community, and I mean even tenuous at best, you knew. Most people I spoke to were surprised that it didn't leak earlier. EG has been looking to sign a top foreigner for a while now. I'm told that they've made overtures to just about every top foreigner that is available/soon to be available.\ *edit I did contact SirScoots for an official statement. He said, "We signed Huk?" Twice, in fact."

GG nubs You are missing the point... You don't make a fucking countdown and ARG just to announce a player transfer. OF COURSE people were expecting something bigger. Although I admit that some speculations such as TL-EG merge were kind of absurd.

Don't be mad at the player, be mad at the Game.

even though you're right there's no need to post the same twice.

Fuck you, EG gl huk, gl TL still my fav. Time for tyler and haypro to step it up.

A teamhouse in america, a (kind of) teamhouse in Korea, and it seems extremely high contracts... EG must be shitting money somehow.
|
The only reason this team switch really seems to make me upset is because of the family that Huk is leaving behind at Liquid and oGs.
I can understand the money reasoning though. People have to live

Now the real question is, can Huk grow an EG-beard?
