We're happy to announce that TeamSpeak is sponsoring the TL SC2 Open Series again. The first series was a great success and produced some awesome games and provided the backbone for our TSL3 Qualifiers. You may recognize some of the past winners: Dignitas.Select, ROOT.Drewbie, Empire.Nerchio, Empire.Kas, mouz.Thorzain, Tt.White-Ra, and many others. Previous TL Open VODs can be found here.
TeamSpeak is a great sponsor. We really believe in their service, enough so that we used TeamSpeak 3 to cast all the TSL3 games. Also, they provided us with an official TL TeamSpeak 3 server which has been running since November 2010. You'll see many TL users hanging out there at all hours of the day, and our staff use it as a place to play team games, watch movies, and interact with the TL community. Check it out!
A message from TeamSpeak's CEO, Peter Kirk:
Greetings TeamLiquid community,
I am happy to be able to extend my support to TeamLiquid in sponsoring these upcoming Tournaments. We at TeamSpeak have always been hardcore gamers, striving for a tool perfectly tailored for gamers communication needs. For myself my passion in gaming is StarCraft 2 (just checked, I am averaging at 13 games per day :D ), which explains how I know about your site. Try TeamSpeak 3 if you have not tried it yet, it is in the final release candidate stages and will be announced as 3.0.0 Final some time during the next few weeks .
Looking forward to some epic games!

About our Sponsor
The TeamLiquid SC2 Open is proudly sponsored by TeamSpeak Systems GmbH, developers of popular TeamSpeak voice chat software for online gamers and now, with their latest TeamSpeak 3 SDK product, virtual worlds and integrated solutions. TeamSpeak enables groups of people to speak with one another over the Internet using their Windows, Mac, or Linux based computer, much like a telephone conference call. Android and iPhone support are also expected to be released in Q3 of 2011. A TeamSpeak user will typically wear a headset with an integrated microphone and connect to his guild or clan's TeamSpeak server to chat with fellow team mates, discuss strategy in real-time, or facilitate online events.
TeamSpeak 3 features include: in-game overlay for DirectX and OpenGL games, simplified permissions system with advanced user toggle, firewall friendly file transfer, BBCode enabled info panes, voice encryption toggle on a per-channel basis, global public web server list, tabbed multi-server connectivity, tabbed text chatting with logging, user avatars, friends lists, offline messaging, and a fully customizable client UI supporting skins, sound packs, and plugins. TeamSpeak is FREE to use for non-commercial entities.

I would love nothing more then TLO to continue playing SC2. But if he did become a caster due to his CT he is absolutely one of my favorite casters as well. Will definitely tune in for him and chill.
TLO casting <3,. plus its pretty cool for some of the lesser known commentators to get a little exposure in earlier rounds. I'll tune in weekly for sure.
Yay! Looking forward to this. After TSL3 is over and now that MLG columbus is over too, theres very little going on of the big stuff, TL Open will be so awesome!
Props of course to TeamSpeak for sponsoring this and helping the SC2 community :D

CT doesn't just go away one day bro. I wonder how long he will be able to keep playing with that. My barber doesn't cut anyone elses hair but mine because of CT problems.

damn im going to be away for a wedding, would of loved to watch this on streams!!!! Typical im not working and I cant watch a good decent tourney anyway lol missed all of MLG....
Sounds very cool I'll gladly get in to this just to get experience may get lucky enough to win the $200 just got to try my hardest!. TEAMLIQUID + TEAMSPEAK FIGHTING!! Keep bringing the amazing tournaments!
How do we get to signup for this? Is there some sort of requirement or is it open to anyone? TLO casting is epic, so even if I can't make it in, I'll surely spend the day watching this.
Okay so I was listening to weapon of choice #15 where Wheat&Chill talk about Nerchio winning Open #4 and I thought to myself: I really miss those TL Opens... came home, sat down, started my firefox. BOOM!
200$ price per tournament alone should get lots of high profile players and an opportunity for a 1k tournament, yeah - guess all of those 12 opens will be sick!
great way to bridge a gap between tsls or other big events
would also like so see lots of co-casters trough those 12 weeks
Really glad to see more and more sponsors starting tours... That's the way to go. Gratz to TeamSpeak for their very good decision to help the sc2 scene even more. <3
The TLOPens (qualifiers for TSL3) were so much fun to play in even though i got stomped in the first round :> I've been looking forward to these--awesome job tl
please correct me if I'm wrong, but I suppose any platinum noob can sign up since this is an "open" tourney.. also, as few other guys asked before me and got no reply, WHERE DO WE SIGN UP? It's June 9th, registration should start today, right?
Wow, TLO casting. If the standard of competition is similar to the TSL3 I'm really looking forward to this. Might be able to LR this, not sure atm. Hope I can!
Suh-weet!! And now I have both an EU and US account so even more fun for me! Awesome stuff, though I am not top tier and am a mid Master level player and always enjoy seeing how far I get in these things!
This is so great to hear. I'm looking forward to some more awesome SC2 action and even to participate in some myself. I'm by no means good, but to just try would really be fun. Casting sounds like a blast, too. But, overall, it's nice to see how SC2 and esports is growing and including all the people who fall under its banner.
Awesome news!! And TLO is casting, this is awesome but I want to see him play as welI. Hoping this means that the qualifiers for TSL4 are starting at some point soon!
Very cool :O Only I got a few questions. Can ANYONE apply? Because I can't find a link to some rules schedue or brackets. I'm really confused. Or maybe a link to one of the previous series? I would really like to play in a tournement.
fantastic! So happy to see events like this one continue! They are quite well run and usually encourage the top players from across the globe to participate. I hope some of our very own North American pros can take home the prize money!
Usually they have a timer when sign-ups are open that will direct you straight to the place to sign-up. Otherwise use this url to sign up to the latest TL Open:

did you kill a worker? are you rushing? etc. anything that changes food count or life count. Yes, that means if you sent one of your workers in and killed one of his.
I didn't see this mentioned in the rules but can you stream your own matches? I saw that there is no observers allowed and that TL will officially stream the semis & finals?
