A US battle.net account will only work with a us client, however the only differences between a US and a EU sc2 client is a single file.
Hope this answers your question!

Before people start attacking the 1 post people posting in this thread (yes, i'm one of them xD ) asking for a key consider the upside of this whole thing. While im not sure how many of the 1post people who actually lurk on this site and learning from all the good stuff being posted here, im quite sure that alot of them actually were, all the people that registered for this helps to show how big of a fanbase teamliquid.net actually has! This in turn will prove to Blizzard even more how big of an influence this site is and therefore they will probably cooperate with TL even more, especially after seeing the awesome creativity that TL shows when they get the opportunity.
I didn't play SC:BW alot as it was honestly too hard to get into for me as I started playing it when battle.net was already filled with players who pretty much raped me and without having anyone to practice with and to teach me the ropes it just wasnt fun. I've always been a big fan though and have enjoyed the pro-scene in korea as they provide alot of entertainment and show the hype that e-sports can generate in a great way. Now with SC2 on the way I feel like I can have a shot at enjoying the great game that SC:BW was albeit in a new different way, and thanks to the great info that I can find here I actually feel that I can understand the game on a whole different level than before.
So thank you teamliquid.net and all the veterans for making this possible through your passion for the game, and thank you Blizzard for doing the smart thing and promoting your game to the longtime fans you have on this site.

I am so involved with this community with only one post! I hope I get a SC2 Beta key. It's not obvious that I have only one post is it? I really hope I get a key. The only reason I joined this site was to get a key.
[* Disclaimer] I actually have browsed around Team Liquid before but never registered or contributed in any substantial way. I loved the Humorous pics threads. Always were a great laugh

If the administrator's didn't want new posters signing up for this contest, they wouldn't have advertised it on reddit/digg/etc.
Good luck everyone.

Now that there is 500 keys, I hope a 2004 join date will be oldschool enough to get one
