Kolll vs Fenix should be exciting though! Go Kolll
This seems to be pretty much everyone's feeling on the subject. Nony is in shockingly good form.
I think the real question is whether Kolll will live up to the hype. If he's really going to be an "Idra-killer", he needs to take this ZvT 3-0, and look stylish doing it, based on Idra's recent results.
on the one hand, i want some really contentious series to make up for yesterdays snoozers. on the other hand, i want nony and kolll to walk over tarson and fenix so i might have some confidence on their behalf as they move on..

I don't remember, was chill that late to announce the storms or was it edited like that?
They're watching the replay while we are from the streamers point of view, but the audio is delayed a few secs as it has to go over ventrilo or whatever they're using. That's normal.
It's been like that in all of the casts we've seen if you pay close attention you can tell there's some lag from when we see what the streamer is saying, and the announcers are saying.
Regardless, that moment was great. Everyone on IRC was going crazy.
hmm i doubt that after getting 1-3'ed by a player , you can come back some weeks later and win (maybe if the other guy isn't practicing anymore, but idra def. is). so i'd rather see tarson win vs nony. on the other hand bo5 tvt vs someone who's been practicing tvt with kor pros seems too tough... so maybe pvt is still the better option... ok i go with nony )))
Hopefully we can get some really good games today. Even though the matches were great to watch yesterday, two 3-0's were probably not the most exciting or competitive results that could have happened.

Actually "espected" is not an english word in any english dictionary. I think you are attempting to say "expected". That is with an "X" not an "S." You should not criticize anything if you cannot use proper spelling yourself. And there are many problems that a stream can face. I reccomend you try to open a stream to see how hard it is to get started or maintain before you speak.

Or you could say thank you for them even having this steam? Thank you for putting together this tournament? Or not thats cool aswell you can just complain.
I really like NonY's play so far, just taking it super safe and steady in the first game. Looks like we're in for a macro game now, where NonY can really show his skills.
that's what happens when terran is greedy and doesnt prepare for every build, good thing nony is punishing tarson for being greedy and delaying his engi bay.
I must say that camera work is bad as hell. Allmoust allways out of focus. Like some test stream what no one watching. Last game stayd in one place where nothing going one like half min. Why? Just bore watchers?

What? You sure you're watching the same stream as everyone else? No problems at all with catching anything, they show tech, upgrades, they show armies, they show expansion timings, army movements, combat, everything you want to see :|

IIRC because you can't put sponsor into replay, unlike in VOD.
why dont they just write in the beginning of the game something about the sponsor and thats it.. i thought the sponsor wants to support the community =/

to be fair i think Koll relies to much on his mutas. And fenix just took advantage of this with his those cheap wins. Yeah koll is good with mutas but as a zerg player you have to be good with other builds also.

Looks like only me wants more then this. I have seen streames where I see all what I need. Even if stream is in korean I understand all what players doing. Right now allot talk and still I see only 50% of that what I need. But peace. It this is enaugh for everyone else then so be it.

omg, fenix is amazing. that was just amazing play by him. i love how day and chill didn't notice the drop in the main and then all of a sudden you hear day 9 "holy shit look at koll's main!"
Well I've seen it before, koll is pretty bad vs mech builds. Nothing unexpected there imo. He should work on that or terrans are gonna go only mech vs him .
everyone who is commenting that someone playing disappointed them or about how sad they are about their liquibet should probably find a better way to express themselves. these aren't korean pros who don't read english starcraft sites. your stupid comments might, unfortunately, be read by the players

Honestly, I have full confidence in ret to win a bo5 (or is it bo7?) against any Zerg in the tournament. He was wrecking Koreans at Courage, including one that reached the finals who he 2-0'ed and only lost to dumb shit in games he had clear advantages in.

Korean amateurs in courage aren't that much better than top foreigners, according to IdrA anyway.
Nony makes good on his interview with a 3:0 even more brutal than his games vs Horror. Ouch.
Fenix played some really smart starcraft after realizing Kolll's overeliance on mutas and Kolll just fell apart with stuff like attacking all his initial mutas into 6+ goliaths in game 4. Kolll always struck me as being bandwagoned for just beating Idra in WCG and most of his fans probably hadn't seen many of his other games, which often showed just good muta micro but poor decision making and late game play.

I played with him live and watched him play live a lot. He is very good and very smart. Even his gimicky builds are very solid. He is just very very strong.
i saw fenix on panamericans when he got gold he was playing great im not surprised of his succes here, i hope he can show us more of his great skill on the next rounds of TSL
Love to see Nony kick it up like that... I had some doubts because he hasn't been incredibly active, but this has definitely shown that he has what it takes. Congrats to Fenix but it sucks that the wonderkid Kolll got dropped.

It also doesn't work if you open the results spoiler, but I'm sure you've figured out how to work around that.
Ok, nice games and great casts. The only thing I could wish for is more selecting of units. During the drop in the last game that cleaned the main, as an example, not a single vulture was selected so we could se kills. Luckily Day9 read the amounts out but that might be something for the vid streamer to think about.
That seems to be a slight problem when there is an official obs and the casters are looking around the map on their replay as well. They're not concentrating as much on what's being shown to the viewers as they would if they weren't looking around the map on their own individual view.
No big deal but it seems to confuse the obs sometimes as instead of showing the viewers and casters what's going on he seems to be reacting to what that caster's are saying, which is the wrong way round in my opinion.
The games so far are terrible to watch. None of the games in Ro16 were even decent, each single one of them was a case of an extremely one-sided, brutal rape. I really hope it will change next week, because despite all the effort, TSL1 was much, much better spectator-wise.
first he completely dominated with his mutas in game 1, and then got timed, then rushed, and then game4 he just had really terrible decisions like mutas vs goliaths in the T main??

He's playing the smartest of any of the underdogs I've seen thus far.

Jesus kid, calm down. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You don't need to freak out just because you don't agree with it, just ignore him. Really, try to learn how to control your temper. How old are you supposed to be?
I really want to watch the Nony games by the way, but I can't find a link to the VoDs. Can someone help me out? I read about 6 pages deep and didn't find anything and I don't have time to search the entire thread.
game 4 and 5 are only 10 bytes! mustve been short games!
i found the torrent filesizes to be quite a spoiler yesterday t.t wonder if there is anyway around it...
Could just put in random vods from TSL 1 to fill in the nonplayed games. Granted, I already knew what the results were pre-torrent, but I suppose the folder sizes could have spoiled it for some.

In the past he has played cheesy though, especially in PvT. There's nothing wrong with that, Flash bunker rushes Jaedong 5 pools etc... It keeps your opponents honest.
Why don't you guys use alt+click to send pings to each other when something happens. In game 4, at the end, Kolll's main gets dropped during the battle in front of Fenix's nat and the commentators only realized it after all the drones got hyuked. But the observer noticed the drop coming right from the beginning.

Wow, almost every series was a complete blowout! 3-1 or 3-0 all through the round. I think a lot of people cracked under the pressure and seasoned, well prepared veterans have shined through the crowd. I'm looking forward to the next round. I think well see quite a bit of 3-2 series and some amazing games and more interesting play style matchups than most leagues!

That doesn't work in replays. Any other suggestions?

Depending on the screen real estate available, a private group chat could work. That way the observer could say "yo, drop at 12 o'clock!", while the non-talking commentator could make requests for coverage of specific areas.
Probably really hard to split focus like that, though.
Nony was ridiculous against horror and tarson but it'll obviously be a different story against idra... we'll have to see what kind of shape his mid and late game is in
Kolll has such a bright future if he sticks with BW/SC2 ... i though game 1 was the most standard of the 4 and he won that convincingly... lots of credit to fenix though for bouncing back to take the next 3

We don't typically interview the loser of the series. Usually it's not too interesting, as it's either something that generates a bunch of needless controversy "well, I should've won vs him", or else something like "yeah, he's a better player than me I guess" and seems like rubbing their faces in it.
I really enjoyed the matches this week even though the results were not that close. I think that there was still great play from the players and the games will only get better as TSL2 goes on.

That reminds me of what a great job the "cameraman" has been doing. I can't tell a difference between his work and the Korean pros. Fantastic job, whoever you are.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

Forget Kolll, interview the winners! The qualifiers were much more hyped up due to little things like interviews. It seems like we just wait till the weekend, watch games and do it all again until the finals.

fenix played an outstanding series and i find it disappointing that noone seems to have noticed.
g1. he plays his standard game and gets rolled. he decides to play variants of early offense.
g2 g3 he plays a superb sequence of early offense and gets koll flustered to the point where he's thinking wraiths on destination from a gas puller. he even goes fakemech into actual mech and executes it with flair - this after having shown a billion marines in games one, two and three.
the cutting of scvs on fighting spirit to simulate approximate 2 rine expand and the careful wallhug
the emphatic, precise anti-mutabal build of g3 and the confident attack
g4 making a point to show the additional vultures as he does the exact opposite of an allin

I thought it was a fantastic series myself. I initially thought Koll would take it, but was pleasantly surprised with Fenix's play after game 1. It seemed like Fenix had prepared very well and exhibited some great game sense. This was a MUCH better series than each of the other three.
In a way this series perfectly highlighted where Koll was weak: he is fantastic mechanically (reaction time, muta micro) but can struggle against more experienced and knowledgeable players. He will have to prove in the future that he can adapt when thrown off his game.
