As a themed game, this is a fully open setup unlike Palmar's setup which was closed. Closed setups especially with complex mechanics allowed for a LOT more wifom and less focus (as that game clearly showed, although Aperture 4 was even worse) on scumhunting.
In this game, each role has specifics, and an investigation and protective function is built into each spirit side depending on what happens to the townies. These abilities are pretty clear cut.
When you are alive, the only thing you need to concern yourself with is scumhunting for the most part. The special stuff only happens if you are dead.
The fact it's open - and far fewer players - makes it a lot easier to work with, so Luna, given what you have said, I think you should give the setup a chance.
As for me, well, I can't play for obvious reasons.

Another day, another soul to consume.
Disformation looked through the cameras as he threw back yet another Hacker-Pschorr.
"Scheisse," he muttered. The beer wasn't as good as the Hessian apfelwein he remembered.
After studying the monitors for another 20 minutes he found his next victim, alone in his bed, sleeping. To pull this kill off, he would have to disable the security system but with nightwatchers also on duty, somehow he'd have to create some sort of distraction.
Additionally, he'd have to come to at least some partial form of himself in his guest's bedroom risking outing himself in the process.
"Das ist schewere," he complained to himself, "but this can be done."
Disformation ran to the top and using his superpowers triggered an explosion in the courtyard, drawing the attention of security. Immediately he darted straight for Calix's room.
As they honed in on the courtyard zone, disformation was able to slip in, and spotted a sleeping Calix.
Upon disformation choking her, she started to kick and scream, but unfortunately for her, he was too fast.
In seconds, she was gurgling as disformation violently shook her, blood gushing out of her throat and nose. With a improvised torch, disformation then torched her body with a magical spell that allowed her body to disintigrate into the air.
The next morning, Half the Sky knocked on Calix's door as she had information on a banquet that Calix was seeking.
Several knocks. No answer.
"Whatever," she muttered. "I will just leave it on the desk."
She opened the door and proceeded to post the materials on the desk.
Then she felt something funny on her foot. She looked down.
It was blood.
"NEIN!!!!" she screamed. Calix's belongings were around, but she was nowhere to be found.
Calix, (Town Vanilla) had disintegrated.
Day 2 has begun! You have 48 hours to decide upon whom to lynch.

Disformation monitored the rooms uneasily as he scanned for his next victim in the control room. By now, nearly everyone was horribly aware of the mysterious disappearance of a few guests at his city hotel and so far investigators were unable to trace the disappearances to him. But even then he wanted to kill with style.
Looking through the system, he quickly scanned a room, where it appeared someone was fast asleep. He quickly made his way down to the room in question and knocked. No answer. After a few knocks, he turned to dust and through thin air and particles, slipped into the guest's room.
Seeing the lump in the bed, he pulled his revolver, his itchy finger on the trigger.
He tore back the comforter.
It was just a rolled up blanket. His target was gone.
"SCHEISSE!!!!!!!!" Disformation raged.
Not a soul perished in the hotel tonight.
You hear a voice from Holyflare as follows:

This is what I hate most about the current meta personally, 47h of work for those that did the work down the drain, and >90% of the time town get it wrong, you guys honestly got very lucky there as Shape wasn't able to defend himself (regardless of alignment), he's had issues where he's forced to disappear as both alignments.
Holyflare lynch IMO was beyond awful. But the spirits/ghosts (unlike last game) saved it.
