Just a simple game of Mafia.
Co-hosted by Half the Sky.
The Setup:
- Six Vanilla Townies + One Blue Role vs. Two Mafia
- The Blue role and Mafia roles will be randomly generated.
- Pseudo-instant-majority lynch (See below for explanation).
- The game has a 14-day time limit for town to win (See below for explanation).
- Silent Nights.
Lynch Voting:
- Vote in the voting thread. Votes in the game thread will not count. Standard formatting (##Vote: <Player>).
- Every 24 hours, the host will check the votecount. If there is a majority on one player, a lynch will occur. If not, the day will continue.
- After a player is lynched, there will be a 24-hour silent night cycle for players to submit night actions.
- There are no deadlines for individual days. However, the game has a time limit.
Time Limit (New!):
- The town has 14 days to win the game. This total includes night cycles.
- This averages just over 48-hours per day, assuming the game lasts for 5 cycles (maximum length).
- Town automatically loses if the timer expires. The timer cannot be affected in any way by the players or host-action.
House Rules:
- I am lenient about in-thread behavior - Mafia is an emotional game. You will be warned if you cross the line. You will be modkilled/replaced if you cross it again.
- Don't cheat. See the TL Mafia Model OP for details.
- Do not interact with the host in thread. Send all questions or concerns to the host by PM while the game is in progress.
- Do not post anything other than a simple "gg" after death.
- Play to win.
This is your one and only reminder to read the rules above. Violating them will result in modkills and bans. I do not compensate for ignorance.

Need a co-host or two, exclusively for vote-counts. Preferably timezones other than US East.

isn't 5 days the maximum length?
|
Oh true. Didn't account for a mafia shot failing somehow. I'll up the timer to 14 days.

/sitout
edit: actually I can't play regardless, /cohost if you'll have me. not us anyhow.

I like silent nights and I am curious about this new deadline set-up. Dnu about the random roles tbh. It's not that randomly 3 vigilantes can be rolled right?
/in

Do you need us to tempt you with beer or whiskey?
And Koshi I am sure the roles will be sensible, I interpreted that as role setups randomly generated but that's just me.

I can /cohost for EU times (CET+1). If cohost is full, I can /in.

I'll probably join this but not yet.

yea film noir is so sexy I will probably join this if spots are still open in a few days!

I ran the pseudo-IML in the last Noir, and it seemed to go well. It has the benefits of being a lot less taxing on the host, and making sure that players don't suddenly get lynched in their sleep. I think you'll find that this game will play very similar to a normal mini game, except with a little more lynch flexibility for the town.
As for the roles, I have 5 pre-made setups that I'm randomly generating from. All of them contain exactly one power role for town. All of them are balanced in my opinion.

I think I'll stick with one cohost for now. I'll put you /in unless you say otherwise.
