This is a normal with heavy flavour. Knowledge of the film is not required. There is no post-restriction and deadline time is the standard 23:00 GMT (+00:00).
Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions. The objective of the game is to lynch or kill all mafia members before they outnumber the rest of the town. It's much like a game of poker because mafia members are also part of the town during the day and may manipulate the vote to their liking. If the mafia at any time outnumber or equal the townspeople, they win. The town's goal is to lynch all the members of the mafia.
The game is typically very active, so the thread will get big quickly. However, it is essential to read the thread to play the game. If you do not have the time or patience to read the whole thread, do not play. I will not compensate for ignorance.
Rules:
Cheating: Cheating includes (but is not limited to): 1. Posting after death. You may have one polite goodbye post, but it may not contain any potentially game-changing information. 2. Ruining the game by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town. 3. Logging on to someone else's account to get their role or looking over someone's shoulder to get their role. 4. Comparing role PM times to determine roles. 5. Posting screenshots of your inbox. 6. Posting or sharing any PM you receive from a host. 7. Getting yourself modkilled to help your team. Your non-majority-decided death may not be used as a bargaining chip. 8. Signing up more than once using smurf accounts. 9. Betting items outside of the game in exchange for in-game benefits. 10. Sharing accounts with other players unless cleared by the host in advance. Otherwise, only you may post on your account.
Cheating is not tolerated here. The punishment will be severe.
Posting:
Mod Font: [blue]This is mod font. It is reserved for moderators. Please do not use it.
Question Font: This is question font. You may use this font to ask the moderators anything BEFORE the game.
Absolutely do NOT ask any questions openly in thread in game as some questions may be alignment indicative.
Activity: You must post in this thread TWICE per day/night cycle and vote every day while you are alive. Failure to do so will result in a warning; a second offence will result in a modkill.
Smurfs/Hydras: I will allow smurfing. Please send me a PM with who you are playing as. Hydras will not be permitted.
Post Restriction Rules: There is no post-restriction for this game however, rules for spam are unchanged.
Spam is not tolerated, nor is any off-topic material. Do not discuss Proleague here. Do not talk about Starcraft II here. Play Mafia here. This also means you should condense your posts when possible. 15 one-liners in 30 minutes is unacceptable.
Encryption: Don't do it.
Editing: Editing is not allowed for any reason. Editing will result in a warning. If we discover you to have changed any content, you will be modkilled. This includes posts where you have embedded an image, changing the image is tantamount to changing the post. This is the one part of the site where it is okay to be double posting, even triple-posting. While I ask for everybody to post as concisely as possible, post again using the acronym (EBWOP: Edit by way of posting) if you want to clarify/correct something you just posted.
Inappropriate posts: If you want to post something insulting or inappropriate and know the TL mods would have a problem with it elsewhere, don't post it here. If you do, a host will warn you or modkill you and request that you be banned from future games. The hosts have the final say on what is inappropriate. If you do not like how someone is talking to you, please PM a host, Foolishness or Blazinghand before involving the TL staff. If you are unsatisfied with how the situation is resolved, then you can appeal to the TL staff normally.
Reporting posts: The report button is a nice feature for regular TL, but not for this forum. We prefer to deal with things in house if possible to avoid confusion among the TL staff. If you have a problem with how someone is posting, talk to the host, co-host, or Foolishness before using your report button. Please do not use your report button for anything other than inappropriate posts which you feel are not being dealt with adequately.
Ban discussions: Please wait until this game is over to talk about modkills and bans resulting from this game.
Play to win. This means you play your best to help your team win while you are alive and in the game. However, this does not mean that you should try to win by being a jerk to the other players so they all want to quit playing.
This also means that you cannot leave the game without a good reason without a ban. These situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. PM me or the co-host if you need to leave the game.
You have been warned.
Voting rules:
This game uses plurality lynch. The player with most votes at deadline will be lynched. 1. Voting is done in the voting thread. The voting thread is linked in my important posts spoiler. Please keep votes there, and only vote there. Do not PM me your vote. 2. Please vote in the following format: ##vote Half the Sky. Votes not done in the correct fashion will not be counted. I or my co-host will update vote counts whenever we get the chance. 3. If you change your vote, please ##unvote before posting another vote (can be done in the same post). 4. No conditional voting. 5. You may vote for yourself. You may not vote for anyone dead or outside the game. 6. You may vote for a no-lynch. 7. Voting is mandatory. You may NOT abstain. Failure to vote will result in a warning, second offence, a modkill.
Signups and Wisdom of the Crowds:
Signups are open until all spots are filled.
There is no minimum experience required for this game.
The hosts also reserve the right to deny participation to those individuals that are known to disrupt the playing experience for others. If we also receive more than five (behaviour based) objections on a specific player, we will most likely not allow that individual to play. We want everyone to have a positive experience playing on TL regardless of their skill level.
Game-specific rules:
Modkills: This game follows the TL Mafia Ban List. If you are modkilled, your punishment will go beyond being eliminated from this game. Please refer to it for questions about your punishment. If you want to use this game to sit out your ban, please PM us and post in the Ban List.
Behaviour: 1 Simply put, do not be a dick. We will pre-warn, warn or modkill you if you approach or cross the line. I am specifically most against personal attacks. These games are meant to be fun for everyone; play the game, but don't ruin the experience. 2 Racist/homophobic/sexist commentary or similar will result in a direct modkill. There is no place for such here, and success as any alignment can be done without. 3 Absolutely, positively, no discussion about other concurrent games in this thread. This can affect other games and is unacceptable. You may discuss players' activities external of TL Mafia, but do not discuss any play in any other ongoing game. Violation of this rule will result in a warning; subsequent offences will result in a modkill.
Replacements: This game uses replacements. Replacements will be made until Night 2. If a player needs to depart after Night 2, he or she will be modkilled. No exceptions. If a player is modkilled before Night 2, they will be replaced by a player on the replacement list if possible. Type /replace if you want to be put on the replacement list.
Clues: There are no clues. The storyline in my game is for entertainment purposes only.
PMs and Out-of-Thread Communication: PMs are not allowed in this game, with the exception of the scumteam and masons. No out-of-thread communication of any sort is allowed for other players. The scumteam and masons, if any, will be provided their respective QTs to communicate in.
Coaches: Because there is a newbie game in progress, there are no coaches allowed for this game.
Shadows: I will permit shadows this game. If you shadow a player, I will provide a separate QT for you and your shadow. If your player happens to RNG into the scumteam, you will not have access to scum QT.
Observers: Please PM the hosts for the Observer QT once the game has started, otherwise, type /obs in the signup thread.
Time Cycle: This game will follow a 24 hour night/48 hour day-cycle. The deadline is 23:00 GMT (+00:00). Please note the deadline is xx:59 and I will not accept votes/actions at xx:00. Do not post after the deadline. Any alignment relevant information posted after the deadline and before the flip will result in a modkill. The game will resume when the night post is up. There is no resolution period for night actions.
Credits: Thanks to pretty much every TL mafia player/host/mod/etc who has hosted and revised rulesets/guidance. Many thanks to Blazinghand, GreYMisT, Artanis and Kitaman who have all provided me with much insight and guidance regarding hosting over my time here at TL. Much <3 to all of you!
This setup will be a semi-open setup. Key attributes of roles in bold.
Win Condition: The town win when they eliminate the First Order or when the scumteam concede.
Finn
A reformed Stormtrooper before joining forces with the resistance, you have a keen sense of who is on whose side, for the most part. You submit alignment checks for each night. Each night you target someone, and you're told if the alignment of your target is the same or different as your previous successful check. Your N1 check doesn't return anything, but is necessary for your N2 check to work. You can't check yourself. If roleblocked, your previous check is your last active check.
Rey
Skilled as a linguist and a pilot, she can easily target one player to see where and whom they visit each night.
Chewbacca
A lifetime smuggler, he is always by Han Solo's side to help as well as by the side of anyone who needs it. Each night, he can select one player to save and may not save the same player two consecutive nights.
Maz Kanata
A Force-sensitive smuggler who has lived over one thousand years, she has seen it all. Her strength gives her an extra night life. If she is hit with multiple kp, she collapses in death. If she is roleblocked she loses the extra strength needed to survive kp.
Han Solo
Trouble in the galaxy? Just trap whoever you wish on the Millennium Falcon. You protect your target with your ship's barriers but your target cannot take any action. You take precedence over all other night actions and resolve simultaneously with the mafia roleblocker.
Poe Dameron
He can fly anything and blast anyone away. He may blast one player of his choosing at night.
General Leia Organa
A Resistance leader, distinguished in battle, she is recognisable easily to all those who have encountered battle in the Republic, certainly compared to the pilot fighters just starting out their careers. (She is named town.)
X-wing fighters
The primary dogfighters for the Rebel Alliance and the Republic, use your voice and vote to destroy members of the First Order away!
Scavengers
On Jakku, you trade for scrap metal and other valuables that might be of use to you in the future, although you struggle to gain the trust of your customers. You are not aware. You return mafia-aligned checks or equivalent.
The Kanjiklub Gang
Cutting deals, and committed to a life of crime, you wander the galaxy in search of scraps for your weaponry and for those who need to repay your debts. You are unaware, and each night you will visit a player who was nightkilled. You will not be informed whom you visit. If mafia should hold their shot, you visit no one.
The First Order (Mafia)
Win Condition: The scum win when they reduce the town numbers to a level equivalent or less, or nothing can stop this from happening.
Captain Phasma:
A tough veteran commander, she is extremely knowledgeable and versatile on both the front line and from the command centre. Regal and polished, she can easily pass for one of the good guys. Stealthy, she is untrackable. Her passives cannot be roleblocked.
Kylo Ren
Armed with a massive lightsabre and hot-headed, he is a ticking timebomb waiting to fly into a rage at someone who dares annoy him. Each night, he duels a player of his choice and preoccupies by fighting them; the player cannot take any action. He takes precedence over all other night actions and resolve simultaneously with any town roleblocks.
Supreme Leader Snoke
As Kylo Ren's master, he's extremely experienced in the forces of evil. So experienced and cunning in fact, that he is adept at making the good guys look bad and the bad guys look good. Each night, he may select anyone of his choosing to frame. He can frame himself if he needs. A check on his target will return the opposite alignment.
General Hux
The ruthless commander of the Starkiller base squad, General Hux wields a powerful gun he can use to assassinate any one player of his choosing.
Stormtroopers
They carry Z6 batons and betaplast shields. And if they want, they can carry KP too.
Starkiller Base Superweapon
The scumteam have one strongman shot they may use against any blue role which passes through all protection. The target, if blue, will die at phase change. This shot may be used at day or night when the mafia team notify the host. If the shot hits a non-blue role, the shot is spent.
1 There are no notifications unless absolutely necessary. 2 There are no alignment changing mechanics. 3 There are no third party roles. 4 A mafia powerrole may carry KP and use their ability on someone else simultaneously. 5 Roleblockers resolve simultaneously. Any applicable secondary abilities will be stopped. 6 The veteran is roleblockable. 7 Vigilante bullets are not refundable if roleblocked or shot into protection. 8 The scumteam must shoot each night. 9 The strongman shot is factional, and the only factional source of kp for the scumteam.
Mafia KP = 2kp N1, 1kp thereafter KP must be delivered by individuals and subject to RB/tracking rules. Limited shot, and Multishot Dynamics: All blue roles except for the veteran and vigilante are available in the following configurations: 1-shot, 2-shot, and multishot. A single shot means you can only use your power once. 2-shot means it can only be used twice. Multishot means it can be used as many times as you want. If you are 1- or 2-shot, and you are roleblocked, your shot is refunded (except for the roleblocker, which will resolve simultaneously; vig shots will never be refunded). Role PMs will be prefixed with 1-shot or 2-shot if you are 1-shot or 2-shot, and will have no prefix if you are multishot.

Mayyyyyybeeeeee next month we can dance? Though I'm salty I missed out on an opportunity to get you lynched in NSM18. I was fuming in the obs qt.

I'm fine with it as long as people understand I'm a terrible coach.
This it is. I've listed you two together. You'll get a separate QT.
Seeing as we're just halfway with signups, I will note that I would prefer to not start on a weekend or try and lapse the days where end of day does not fall on a Saturday/Sunday night. If we fill up very quickly (i.e. in the next two hours) I will start tonight otherwise I will aim to start tomorrow.

/in
You better pray I don't roll vig next game I play with you. >_<
Of course, if you're mafia that game, you're dead anyway
Reminder PMs are going out now. The game will commence tonight 3 February at 23:00 GMT (+00:00) or in .
Those wanting the observer QT please PM either of scott31337 or Shapelog. Shadows have until the silence period (approx 30-40 minutes prior to start) to make arrangements if not done so already.
A few replacements would also be grand just in case.

22 hours to come up with 17 players. I like the playerlist as well - let's make this a good game everyone.
disformation there is no traitor in this game. Which scum role are you referring to?
I thought I made it pretty clear with the bolded for each role what they should be but if something isn't clear...
Also "no notifications" means that the only role that gets notified if roleblocked are investigatives (DT/tracker) that get "no result" if roleblocked. And of course, saves are never notified, veteran doesn't get notified if he incurs kp.
On February 03 2016 22:35 marvellosity wrote: Might be on my best behaviour this game as my other half seems kinda interested in getting in to mafia, and I've told him to read along this game with me
That is awesome, I hope he enjoys it and we see him around soon.
Ah, wait, I get it now, you meant the DT. You use it similarly to a regular alignment role - if you read Nutcracker and saw how LightningStrike used the same role, it's quite easy. If you mean in general that your checks will be bad because your reads would be bad then that's a different story, you'd not do so well as any blue with poor reads if you really think about it.
On February 04 2016 00:42 Shapelog wrote: General policies:
(1) Voting: First offence - warning, second is a modkill (2) Town ARE allowed to self-vote and no-lynch, this is a change from skys previous games. (3) Activity - as stated in the OP. (4) KP has been adjusted for balance.
If you have questions. Please ask them.
Does this mean mafia is not allowed to hold their shot anymore? Because otherwise this is kinda stupid.
This was 100% my mistake. This is correct. I changed the no-lynch rule and I forgot to change the no-hold rule.
Scumteam must shoot each night.
Just went through the rest of the ruleset, everything else should be good though.
And Mage, the rules for vigis are stated in post 4, but disformation I see beat you to it.
disformation, I'm being honest, the way you mention about your schedule, far too little sleep and drinking way too much coffee. I'm habitually used to 4-5h at worst/sometimes but I am even trying to improve on this. Really aim to try to get to bed by 2am, the only time I go later than that is if I'm sick or if I'm on holiday.
If I'm working abroad I try to aim for 6, anything above that is dreamland especially in southeast Asia, given my track record there, and the ~8h time difference I have had a very bad time trying to get sleep. (Onegu you could probably shed light on this given your frequent travels to Asia, and your travel route is 10x worse than mine lmao.)
Hopefully your job hunt isn't terribly taxing, but once you find something I can't imagine it being too bad.

More water and rest, less caffeine. Glad to hear it <3
I didn't know you were a BW/sc2 player disformation.
And Zyrre, gotcha. I play dota as well, and posted on LiquidDota a bit, saw an advert in the off-topic thread for the student games here and I figured I'd try it.
On February 04 2016 04:41 Half the Sky wrote: Also Zyrre and darthfoley, welcome to TL. How did you two find out about here?
This is my 3rd game on TL, but i'm pretty much addicted and expect to be super active going forward. Probably a year or a year and a half ago, I stumbled onto the Mafia sub forum here, and thought the game was very interesting, but I never actually played it. I ended up refinding it some months ago, by watching the TI5 mafia games online, brought it to my college campus friend group, and loved it. Eventually my friends found it less fun on a regular basis, so I came to TL in hopes of finding a more active mafia community. I find IRL way more fun, but forum mafia has really helped my BS detector and analytic ability... I think.
IRL is awesome, I played quite a bit of IRL mafia through graduate school, it was addicting and it was the game to play at parties. It took me some time to adjust to forum I think, and between forum and voice (which is what a lot of people also do on here, pickup voice games) I am pretty good at detecting body language, had a sharp ear at night and tells from facial expressions but I'm terrible for some reason when I don't have those visuals for voice. Forum took me a bit to adjust and especially the level and activity on TL, but overall it's been a pretty fun ride.
Silence period will be in approximately 30 minutes or so from the time of this post.
Just a reminder, once we hit silence period, during which we disseminate PMs, absolutely positively do not ask questions of the moderators in the thread. Any questions are done in PM land - or for those whom it shall apply - in your respective QTs.
If we feel the need to clarify/state something universally we will post in the thread.
The First Order are scrambling their forces to destroy the Republic.
Are you ready to join the Resistance and the cause? Role PMs are going out. Please maintain silence as the moderators send out your role PMs. From this moment onward all questions are to be directed privately.
Observers please PM Shapelog and scott31337 for the observer qt.
It is now Night 1. Please submit your night actions to Shapelog, scott31337 and myself. There is no resolution period. Night 1 ends in at 23:00 GMT (+00:00).
Tonight Palmar had been executed. Day 2 has ended.
Announcement: Please welcome LightningStrike to the game. He replaces Onegu, effective immediately.
It is now Night 2. Please submit your night actions to Shapelog, scott31337 and myself. There is no resolution period. Night 2 ends in at 23:00 GMT (+00:00).
MoosyDoosy, as General Hux (Mafia Vigilante) was arrested!
Chezinu, as Finn (Detective), walks home, unharmed. nooniansoong, the leader of the Kanjiklub (Wanderer) leaves the fray, somewhat satisfied, whilst LightningStrike, a scavenger (Miller) looks at him disgruntled. Pilots Darthfoley, disformation and boxerfred (Town Vanilla) climb into their planes unharmed.
The final mafia has been modkilled...
Town Victory!
Takodana (Observer QT) is here. Starkiller Base (Mafia QT) is here.
Shoutout to Shapelog and scott31337 for cohosting.
There are plenty of games open for signups if you are interested - the Newbie/Vet game as well as the Cell game are open. Keep your eyes on the Active Games List.
OP was not clear, I discussed with 1-2 other veteran moderators some potential solutions to a situation where scum no-shot in a mandatory shot game. Obviously this doesn't account for a situation where multiple members of the scumteam were alive should this happen, that's a more tricky situation I would think. Other alternatives had other downfalls that I discussed.
Next time I have a mandatory shoot game the OP will be clearer on how failure to submit will be handled.
Second thing is the balance. The role distribution itself was okay, but I made the general mistake of not collectively upgrading my m13 roles (as I discussed in the observer QT) for larger games, medic was a bit underpowered and I should have considered the strongman, although technically conditional, a mandatory kp. Thus, mafia really had one too many kp.
So I take responsibility for those things and I will sort those out next time. Admittedly not for awhile due to real life, but still.
That said in a separate post, I'll address a few of the new-ish players from a pure gameplay perspective. I'm really glad to see some of the newer players challenge themselves with the larger games.

Honestly with the collective town play, might warrant a nomination for best collective town play. We'll see how it stacks up against other games when the year ends, but I think this is worth a shoutout.

Hopefully your other half liked what we had here, maybe will sign up in the future for a game someday?
Yiss. 'Tis very interesting. Like listening to a morbid version of Big Brother on the radio. Maybe after a few more watches, as a lot of the game seems to be poking on how people have previously played - obv something a newb will have no use in. Looking forward to seeing more of this tho!
You might want to keep an eye out for the newbie games to get your feet wet - the newbies obviously won't be using meta (which is what you're referring to here) against each other and as I'm sure marv's told you already, you'll also have a coach to help you out or give you a different perspective on how you see things, how your scumhunting (or scumgame, if you RNG scum) can further you to victory.
I had some rough notes typed up for some of the new-ish players (<10 games played) that were in this game, constructive criticism for next time, any issues extensively discussed in obs qt, I've largely left that out.
boxerfred - Much much much improved game, as others have said, you did good getting yourself townread fairly easily, now just brush up a tad on the scumhunting. On the up, you knew more or less whom to sheep. You had general scum hunting characteristics down. Watch the self-meta, it can be a turnoff to some (particularly D3), and I know it can be frustrating when you run into newer players or players who aren't familiar with you. Just be aware people have their own standards for scumhunting and try and be a tad patient. D1 voting patterns made it hard for people to understand your motives and if I recalled right, to some people it didn't look like you cared about the lynch. So if you are constantly going back and forth, give other townies an insight into why.
darthfoley - Day 1 play was excellent even if on the wrong side of the vote. Your biggest issue was your play after day 1 and had scum played their cards better you might have been a very viable mislynch in the late game, as scum can start out strong and fall off hard. Even when you are in a situation where there is an auto-lynch, or as is the case in this game, a series of auto-lynches, it is still important to interact with the top towns as it is likely it could be your last day to work with them before you're really on your own. At the same time it is important to offer your thoughts (or at least a reaffirmation if you truly have nothing to add) to the thread, as it's possible you might see something in someone that others may not.
disformation - Well done. Not only you were easily readable as town, but you've finally found a scumhunting method that works for you, VCA and post-day 1 motives. You also did a good job on figuring out whom to sheep when you weren't 100% sure, I think Palmar's said this but that is an underrated skill as town that I think is very important. The next step is simply to combine different scumhunting methods in terms of figuring out who was most likely mafia. If you take some of the things you did day 4 like for Moosy, figuring out thoughts going nowhere and applied it to day 1-2, all the better. You had some tinfoil too early (e.g. at one point you had a Rels/marvellosity/Mage/+1 scumteam which is just insane tbh) and tinfoil is generally ferretted out by an exhaustive multi-day VCA or NK wifom/pure lategame. It's generally not an effective use of time to consider tinfoil early on, but otherwise very solid play in the late game and taking charge when the early-game leaders were gone.
MoosyDoosy - Objectively your biggest issue (aside from the afk day 4) as mafia was getting by on tone reads, you fooled some people but both ritoky and NM correctly addressed scepticism on your general behaviour day 1 and it was the main reason for Mage continuing to probe you after day 1 to make sure you were actually town, particularly when he tried to draw comparisons with two other games where you eventually advanced the game as town. Even after he died, disformation and LS both followed up on you not following up on your thoughts and ultimately your continued lurkiness led to Chezinu checking you day 4. That said you probably should have taken out the DT as soon as he claimed, I think had you been more active I think the wifom play might have been more viable but with activity day 3 and later it was only a matter of time until you were getting checked.
NocturneMage - Scumhunting was 10/10 this game, and your tracker play was beaten to death in the qt, so I'll just touch up on the main issue for you this game - presentation of your posts. Like JAT said, keep your posts concise. If you want to reach out to the masses that want to see backup/quotes, then do what you did best day 2 - use a numbered format with spoilers for the quotes. Use BBCode to your advantage. When boxerfred asked you day 2 to case VA, you did in a way he was able to read easily. When you cannot interact with your top scumreads, stick to the same methods - why are the interactions between X and Y scummy and take on the same format. Your meta case on Palmar day 1 read okay, your mini-case on Koshi day 1 was better, but your meta case on Moosy was very difficult for me to follow and rayn pointed out he couldn't understand it at all. Use the "why someone is mafia" as the bullet point and then use meta or quotes as your spoilers, that really is the way to go for readability I think. Overall, nail down the presentation/formatting of your cases and you'll find yourself more effectively able to lead a town.
Zyrre - My understanding is that it's your second game on TL, don't get too down on getting lynched too early, especially in a game with more than 13 players, which can be generally pretty difficult for inexperienced players. Overall, for you, what it came down to was inactivity, and relatively speaking, for a 17-player game, the expectations will be higher. One or two players (Noon/Mage) had an inkling you were town based on the fact your reads had a chance of being suboptimal based on the time crunch, but when your opposing wagon is someone that town can trust they can get more information from or even worse for you - a blue role - you will almost certainly get lynched. For a newer player to the site, your first objective is to make yourself readable/unlynchable as town. If you are pressed for time, make sure you give a comprehensive (taking into account ALL activity by that player) read on either 1) your top scumreads or 2) the players most hotly discussed in thread/closer to end of day. This way townies won't think you are distorting the facts or have something to hide. Going forward, as you are new to TL, I would recommend a newbie game, to get used to the pace and to understand how others might scumhunt. There were a few things in your list post that also highlighted things that didn't necessarily make others mafia, and coaching might help you understand a few of these things better.

If there's a specific player or cycle you want to address, this might be the time to do it (constructively) so that certain players won't repeat mistakes or things that might have irritated you.
(edit: if your lack of enjoyment was not directed at a player, and rather the auto-lynch situation, then ignore what I said, I was unable to tell because of your second post saying it wasn't a hosting issue)

Are you referring to the nomination or to my long wall post of advice?
If it's the former, IDK. I think I've pointed specifics with respect to how town narrowed it down after the first 1-2 autolynches. There was still a decent amount of doubt over Chezinu/boxerfred/LS/Moosy that the remainder still had to work with and did. Even if we were townreading them easily, they weren't townreading each other so.
If it's the latter, I understand what you are saying here, most of my long post is based off of day 1 play, where it was not particularly with boxerfred, disformation and darthfoley, particularly with darthfoley falling off (you scumread him for that reason yourself???) it could have hurt them if conditions were different or if scumteam were playing better. It's never too early to correct potential mistakes that could have hurt town. Just saying.

On the nomination, I personally don't think murdering an almost afk mafia team is some spectacular play but that's something almost noone agrees with me on and i don't really care.
Alright, I see what you mean. I wasn't trying to be mean, I just didn't understand where he was coming from, if he didn't have an issue with the hosts, I just made the (misinformed?) assumption it was a criticism of the players in the game for whatever reason.

Took a look at your filter. 6 pages for 3 autolynches isn't bad at all, and save for a few self-meta posts (disclaimer: I am being nitpicky) overall, your probing, PoEing, etc should have had you pretty easily read as town as others might have been slacking off. Onegu with zero activity and an isolated vote left you in a bad position (it is what it is) so even with other players not being as familiar with you, you still managed to put your thoughts out there and get yourself townread.
You were unaware miller though, had you been checked, your case might have been harder and I could have seen the players who didn't know you as well go for a percentage play lynch. But this is beyond your control, I think overall you did just fine and enough people were aware of the possibility of a miller they would have weighted your play.
One more issue I forgot to mention - this is primarily aimed at other people here who host or co-host. As I'm sure most players noticed, the day 1 flip took unusually long. This was explained in the obs QT as to why, but just a heads up - what happened is that right when I announced the lynch in thread, and before I posted the flip, it was noticed that Shapelog and I were getting two different vote counts before the timestamp/clock showed xx:00 on his school's computer and my comp at home was showing xx:59.
With JAT/Palmar switching, we know that switch changed the outcome of the vote. To ensure the right votes are counted where it's extremely close, BH, who also recently found out this issue, had advised us to use the quote function for when a vote is cast, to determine the true TL server time, which is the time to use if a vote should be on time, and not the timestamp, which is the time on your computer clock.
I know there were a few other games that had the issue where the TL timer might have been a minute or whatever off from the clock time on the computer, but now we know the issue.
So going forward, just something I feel hosts (if they aren't already aware) should keep an eye out for if you are counting together with a cohost and you are dealing with last-second vote shennanies.
