Whether there's scum on the Hopeless train or not is going to require a reread, but just off the top of my head if Hopeless is mafia then it's unlikely mafia were on the train. It's also unlikely they were drawing attention to themselves by participating in the shenanigans, so I'd say the best bet for finding mafia will be on outlying votes off both the main wagons. Players like Palmar come to mind.
