Also, this is like too complicated. The game is simple almost all the time. No failure = no scum.

you're right, scum marv would never lie about his ability to fake it. It's also worth noting that marv isn't a very good scum player-- he's got a lot of scumtells, so despite being good at town he rarely fools people as scum. In this way, marv is a one-sided player. we don't have much to fear from a potential scum marv, and you have convinced me.
