I know there is already a webcam mafia that's hosted regularly on Wednesday's (koibu - http://esportsmafia.com/), however, I feel like in the interest of getting to know one another we should start our own TL Mafia version! We would do it the same way the esports mafia is done, i.e. We will host a Zoom chat (can be downloaded free here - http://www.zoom.us/) and people will join it and we can get games started based on how many people are signed up.
It's super simple and I think it adds to the community bonding spirit if we get to put names and voices to faces. Obviously you don't have to take part if you don't want to (I can just stick my stream up if you want to watch) but I like the ability to see faces when playing mafia, it's a completely different game when you can get tells and make cases based on facial expressions and it's not as manic as voice mafia. I think it's a nice inbetween from voice and forum.
First and foremost go to the Zoom Website (click me!) and then click the top right login button!
Once you've done that you get taken to the login page, you have several methods of registering here. You can either login with a Google account, a Facebook account or you can sign up with your own details and e-mail. In the interest of stopping the Google/Facebook super watching powers, it's probably best to just sign up with your regular TL name and an e-mail address. In order to do this click the sign up button here:
Once you have done that enter your details in the boxes provided (I think last name can be left blank) and hit sign up!
After you've signed up it's time to download the Zoom client! There is a Windows and a Mac link.
Once you've downloaded the client, you need to setup and test your webcam/audio! Open it up and hit the setup button, like this:
Once in the settings you want to make sure all the settings in the audio and video tabs (on the left) are correct and people will be able to hear/see you properly! You can hit test speakers and test mic to test audio!
Once you are all done, just wait in the TL Video Chat on skype (send me your skype if you haven't) and when the time comes I will send you a link that will automatically open the zoom meeting for you!

Voting
DailyMafia employs a single-target majority lynch system via the “Formal” process for deciding who the town should kill on any given day. At any point during the day a player may “formal” another player whom they wish to kill. Another player in the game must second the formal to put the player on the chopping block. The defendant has 5 minutes to give a defense before voting commences. During a player’s defense, other players in the game may talk and discuss as long as it is related to the person up for lynch. Once the player is finished defending and everyone else has concluded their thoughts on said player, the vote commences. A majority of the town (strictly greater than fifty percent) must be voting in order for the player to get lynched. A player may vote to lynch himself.
General Rules
Days typically do not last longer than 40 minutes. As the player count decreases so does the day timer.
The town is allowed one 10-minute extension to use on a day of their choosing. This must be voted on and a majority of the town must be voting in order for the extension to be activated.
No talking is permitted during the night phase. Mafia can only suggest names for the kills (which must be confirmed by all members of the team) and they cannot discuss strategy.
Stream/VoD'S
For those of you who wish to watch along, you are more than welcome to at our stream!
Also, I think we should do what dailymafia does and host a skype chat with everyone that shows interest, so if you do want to play, post your skype name here too!
The best days seem to be the weekend and in the interest of making this fair to all timezones it will be hosted during the day and so the following times are most likely (subject to change based on response) when it will be taking place.
Hey, I'd love to play. I haven't really played much TL forum mafia but I've played a lot of video mafia. I was just on the All star mafia game going by Joey.

I'm okay with the no-flips and power role spam, but the no-stratting mafia rule is soooo painful to deal with. But I guess it makes sense to stick with DailyMafia rules as we'll be sure to interact a lot with those people.

HF unfortunately (or fortunately) my guy slept in really late today so likely naptime/bedtime are going to be pushed, meaning I won't be able to show for 7. If there are going to be multiple games maybe I can make a later one but I'd say don't expect me necessarily.

This asshole program won't recognize my webcam or something... Edit: Narp nevar mind, got it working. May be a few minutes to more than a few minutes late depending on how bedtime goes.

yeah, will be interesting how the TL games go tomorrow.

Saturdays will pretty much be tl ppl only because a lot of people can make Saturday so the games won't be too manic. Sundays probably combined with dm ppl to make up numbers
Should have stole BC's role, but host dead was was funny and i helped town win! Mattchew unhelped, tried to only kill townies and called boone mafia for no reason. Bad Mattchew
But but, that game was solved in like 30seconds because of boone's read and therefore i could tell geript was mafia. BC tried to distract with "this game does not necessarily end"... What nonsense..
On March 16 2014 00:17 geript wrote: /in but i'd like to see some 14+ player games because otherwise it'd just be better to join the daily mafia video games
the whole point of these games is to have fun with tl people, regardless of numbers dailymafia runs everyday and this is just weekend after all
Well, GREY invited the whole AllStars cast to join us this night for PYP:Video. So like, if you've got something against non-TLers playing you're gonna have a bad time.
Yeah thanks GreyMist, I had a blast. It was amazing to play with you guys. I can't comprehend how awesome our technology got, it lets us, people from all over the globe play a game of epic proportions in such a way. I love you all, it is really heart-warming to see you, laugh with you and all of this... Thanks

Rayn is being OGI as fuck by posting stuff in this thread that relates to an ongoing game. Thus he's cheating and he is being a huge hypocrite about not playing in games cause of "cheating" when he's simultaneously cheating himself.

What is this about? Of course I did. I gave my Skype name and have yet to hear from anyone. If someone could give me an invite to the TL Mafia chat that would be great.

It seems you're confused as to the topic. This thread that we're in right now is known as the voice mafia thread. In it, we discuss voice mafia. If you wish to discuss video mafia, you could do that in here, as you can see, labeled as the video mafia thread. Thank you for your attention and I hope that clears up any confusion.
Stolen from my friend Andy's post, and edited and reposting in the correct thread:
There is a new group called Major League Mafia that I started with a few people. We are currently playing live 4-5 days a week and are looking to find more solid players. Check out www.twitch.tv/MajorLeagueMafia for vods of real games(man mode are the "ranked" games) and some fun games. You can message us there (or just message me here) if you are interested in playing. We have a few TL mafia players that have been involved in our games before such as; VE, foolishness and chew. We will be running serious and fun games every day of the week(except sunday and tuesday) around 9 EST
