What do you guys think? idk, it's kind of out of date-- I mean it's an analysis of mafia XXX, when we're at mafia LXXXV for the next one. would definitely be good if we had a more "modern" version, but it definitely speaks to a site in a different meta. see: Town play has suffered for far too long by relying too much on the crutch of confirmed innocents and blues. plus the missed tells pointed out were frankly a lot more obvious than anything one would see today. If someone analyzed a more recent game (not sure which would be best) it would be much more helpful, but I'm reading the Ver post and thinking "well gee yeah maybe town should have not sucked and noticed the obvious tells and then they would have done better"you know the mafia count is the standard 6/30 with 3 kp Post less and make bigger posts. The multiple low-content posts in a row is a huge impediment to the town, as is the desire to say everything on your mind.

New old player here. I've been playing forum mafia since feb 2015 on and off. I started up a game on a forum that has never played forum mafia before and so far its going fairly well. This is a vanilla game (the same setup seen in the mafia championships 2015). I don't claim to be an expert or anything, but I have played on a number of different site and this one just happen to come up so I might just join a game or two here.

If someone analyzed a more recent game (not sure which would be best) it would be much more helpful, but I'm reading the Ver post and thinking "well gee yeah maybe town should have not sucked and noticed the obvious tells and then they would have done better" That's not always the case. There are and have been many occasions recently where people ignore obvious things or don't care to read the thread closely enough. Basically all the advice in the thread is still sound and it is a good read for especially someone who is new. Some things might be a bit outdated, like the way blues tend to play. For example "Post less and make bigger posts. The multiple low-content posts in a row is a huge impediment to the town, as is the desire to say everything on your mind." really holds water still, always. A thread with 2000 posts is harder to read than a thread with 500 posts. Important things get buried inbetween useless one-liners and it results in (if not all -- at least some) people not reading carefully enough.

Edit: Not saying Ver's guide is bad, just super outdated. There are some tidbits I found helpful but to go through outdated stuff to get some good bits is inefficient.

Need someone good at the english and talking all smart and shit I'd love to jump aboard the rayn hate train, but he's the person I'm most scared of as scum. Not only will he make me explain stuff I really don't want to explain, but he will badger other people into spewing themselves town, shrinking the mislynch pool.
