I won't exclude the possibility that checks can be tampered with from scum abilities, but between griff and huffle, I think that it really makes sense for a house to have at least one scum in it from a game design perspective, so we lynch into huffle until we hit the scum, and then hopefully by then new information would have arisen that would lead us to another scum.
