When I'm on my comp I'll start a summoner list. Also gotta get all the old names out of the TL mafia gaming collective. Maybe we can convince some of the people who used to play to come back.
Also wos if we're tryharding against bots nobody is gonna care if you afk lol.
I assume we all have skype if we wanted to do that and if this became a regular enough thing I'm sure we could talk mango into getting us a TS channel since he's played mafia with us before.
I mid Lux because I do things like zone and scout with her E and she's got a skillshot I can practice (always my worst suit, being unskilled). It's not because she's my best, my best mid is Malzahar...but if you play with me and I mid it will be with Lux.
e: Incidentally, these are also precisely the reasons I support with Lux, but if you play with me and I support, I'm willing to Taric because he's tanky. I like supporting with Lux though.
i can do anything but i main adc/mid (iv been playing adc the most recently) i can do all the roles, support is actually my worst (but ill gladly fill, im competent in all roles)
i can also top and jungle well. but i carry the hardest with mid/adc.
this ofc is coming from somebody who is self-proclaimed baddie tho

We're going to do start doing that pretty soon actually. For a while he did and then he abruptly stopped---his sleeping patterns have been shit right from the start.
VE and I just finished stomping some kids tonight. My noct is getting decent and one game we had a nasus which the enemy team let farm top unharrased for literally 20 minutes. Things were pretty close until nasus came mid and the game ended 3 teamfights later.
All around fun times, I will be on again tomorrow.

It was so sad for their team - they were doing poorly to start and were finally starting to do some damage to our front towers and MZ was like "Okay Nasus, time to leave top" and it was seriously over like 10 minutes later. Silliness.
Shall we aim for 02:30 GMT (+00:00) on Friday then and see what type of turnout we get? Lets plan to meet in TLMafia as our channel to make sure nobody gets missed.
More funz were had tonight, VE, WoS, BC, Kita, and myself played some games. We got destroyed by the new Yi in one game and had the enemy thresh go afk the second game.
Things we learned. I need to have better noct ults, VE needs to not get caught, and kita needs to not KS as support... or flash for minion kills -_-

Hey guys in upper levels - I have a question for you. I'm under no illusion that I'm a good player. My CS is always horrible, my positioning isn't the best and there's room for improvement in virtually every aspect of my play.
However.
I feel like I should be in at least B3 or B2 based on a few factors, primarily my willingness and ability to work WITH my team. So my question is:
How can I be a team player when my teammates refuse to work as a team?
I've found after watching several of my replays that the game is never won because X fed Y or because the jungler couldn't keep up or because someone outfarmed someone else. Obviously these factors played a part in the losses, but the main factor in the teams I'm on losing is the fact that they never want to coordinate/communicate and they're exclusively interested in getting the most kills on the team so they can talk shit in /all. Is there some super secret method you higher-level guys used to ensure that in spite of having shitty awful teams, you still win the game? And does the refusal to work as a team still come up in the higher leagues?
This is a topic that people have written essays on in the past. Unfortunately there is no one specific answer I can give you that will fix your problems. I can give you a few points of advice based on my extensive experience playing with much better players than myself and watching their successes however. (Alternatively, this question is answered fairly often over in the LoL subforum; you'd probably have to dig to find it though somewhere.)
Specifically how do you be a team player when your team doesn't work together? The simple answer is: You don't.
Bronze league (without generalizing TOO much, because I'm sure there are many exceptions) players tend to have a fairly poor understanding of the game as a whole, poor mechanics, or both. As such, oftentimes the easiest way to rank up in Bronze league is to simply be far ahead of the players you are playing with and against, and carry them kicking and screaming to victory. Find a champion that you tend to excel with: one where you can CS decently well, and have a high K/D/A ratio (I wouldn't normally recommend this as it's not particularly important in team play, but since you're looking to carry and not play as a team this becomes more important). Once you have taken a large gold/item advantage and crushed your opposing laner, help out the other lanes and force objectives (ie Dragon, turrets) since the other team will not be able to fight you effectively. Even if the team as a whole has a couple players who do not follow directions, simply being joined by one or two players that DO listen to you, or having the enemy team send 3-4 people simply to stop you is often enough to snowball advantages elsewhere.
Now a lot of this is easier said than done and really requires you to work hard to understand some fundamentals that you may be missing. It also may not work effectively every time. This is only one method of climbing through the ranks and there are many others.
To answer the questions in your final paragraph, another player feeding or losing in farm is a contributing factor to a loss, yes, and is not always controllable. Ultimately you have to strive to be the best YOU can be. Play with/for your team when they seem competent enough to assist you, play selfishly when they don't. As you learn more and more, make fewer mistakes and capitalize more on the mistakes of others, you'll find you will climb the ladder naturally as you improve at the game, just the same as ladder in SC2. As you reach higher and higher levels teamwork becomes more of a factor as people realize how important it is to winning games, but of course there are feeders and people who don't communicate at every level.
I could probably talk about this for ages and there many aspects that I didn't even get into but this is probably the shortest and easiest to understand answer that I can give. Ultimately it is best to determine what skills YOU as a player need to work on (which is often helped along by coaching or having someone watch your replays/play with you who is at a higher level) and then put those into play.

I'm obviously not an upper level player, but from my experience, poor teamwork and the inability to push objectives is part of playing in bronze. Solo queue is especially tough because communication is difficult with a bunch of strangers. Silver is not much better, but you can definitely tell the difference when playing with high gold, platinum, and diamond players.
A few things to try out:
Try announcing what the next objective should be before a team fight begins so your team knows what to do if you win, rather than randomly deciding to take wraiths 45 minutes in.
If a player refuses to stick with your team, then have the team stick with them.
Buy more wards in all roles so you have more vision and the ability to make better decisions.
Keep track of dragon and baron timers so you can have your team prepare for it ahead of the other team.
Like Wave and Dandel mentioned, at that level you have to win the game for your team yourself. If you work on thinks like CS and positioning like you mentioned, you should start to carry games because the other team likely has coordination that is just as bad as your own.
Also, a reminder that we will be playing inhouses tonight at 02:30 GMT (+00:00) so join channel TLMafia if you'd like to join us.

I know I constantly promote the LoL subforum people, but in that thread you recently signed up for they try to have organized inhouses so you can lane and play against people much better than you, get crushed, and have them tell you what you're doing wrong. It's a really great learning experience but I can understand it might be intimidating or frustrating to play with people you don't know nearly as well. It would be really nice if we could get 10 people to play a full 5v5 inhouse; it's much easier for an enemy player to comment on your play when they can actually see what you do in lane.
If we can only get 5 then my suggestion is listen to whoever the highest level player we're playing with at the time (I guess Kenpachi/kita/me?) and try to understand why we're making the calls that we are. We may not necessarily be right about our calls or make good plays a lot of the time but it will help with your thought processes while in game. Mechanics and CS is stuff that you can just go into a bot game and work on by yourself.
Edit: Oh and yeah and I should probably emphasize what kita said---we are not upper-level players in the slightest. We may be among the best in this little group (for now) but comparatively it's still pretty bottom-of-the-barrel. We're not better because there are tons of things we don't know either and there are lots of little subtleties and decision-making aspects that we aren't capable of putting into play either otherwise we'd be higher than Silver, of course!
Also Bot games aren't any good for CS practice are they? I mean, bots don't try and zone me out when I move in to last hit and shit....
e: Actually nevermind, thinking back I don't miss CS because my opponent is pressuring me, I miss CS because I'm letting minions kill everything. I'ma start playing more bot games. XD
play mordekaiser, went from bronze 2 to silver 4 in 3 weeks.
ofc then people started buying MR so it stopped being an instawin and i actually found a real main to play. xD
but mostly never give up unless the game is truely hopeless. Always say its okay if somebody KS;s you, becasue you can reap the benefits of free-farming and at the end of the day the most important thing is that the enemy nexus falls.
The IRL friend i duo with has a hard concept of this, he always feels he has to carry the game and basically assumes he should be fed every game. Kills are nice, but not required.
but basically pick 1 champion, do very well with him, and you can basically carry at that low levels. Just always be motivating and saying "its okay" and "we still got this"
thats basically what i always do in ranked, in normals and on my smurf i let the rage flow (forgetting that these people arnt silver 1-gold 3)
anyway im getting on now until probably when we do the in house if anybody wants to get on.

i basically learned to CS by watching streams, xD that and take the two points in butcher (whatever the 4 bonus damage to minions are)
also use your auto attacks before using a skill to finish them off, the easiest way to explain this is with darius.
DONT:
Use your Decimate(Q i think, the spin slash) and then try to finish off each minion with an individual auto attack, you will probably miss 2-3 of them (or more depending on minions)
DO:
Hit them all with 1 auto attack, then finish off all 6 with a Q. You will hit every CS and the minions wont finish off any because they were never lower then half hp anyway.
you can do tricks like that with most champions. orianna for example too. just hit each minion then do an aoe skill.

This is extraordinarily helpful and something I hadn't thought of - I've chosen Lux as my main and her E is PERFECT for what you're describing. Thx!
Lux is the only one who can ALMOST pull it off tge wrong way cuz of her passive. but yeah try doing it with lux. Any chance you can hop on right now really quick?

The way I learned to cs was to play a custom with just my self in it and then keep repeating them until i could go 10 minutes without missing a creep.
Alright going to comment on our games tonight. First of all, it was a lot of fun guys! Everybody was real good sports win or lose, and that's what you need when playing these---sometimes when a lane gets stomped or something is deemed unfair people can get salty and I know that's caused problems in some of the LoL subforum IHs we've had.
Game 1: For the record, I only remembered after we saw what you guys picked that VE would be going Lux mid. I picked LB because she was the only person I still felt comfortable playing mid after not playing mid since S2 really. Your laneswap tactic worked wonders. We really should have just swapped and taken the XP hit because our bottom lane didn't know how to zone out WW properly (not anyone's fault btw) and our Nasus only wanted to farm, not try and fight. Probably my fault for assuming we'd actually have been able to do something without swapping and that our ganks would be enough. The fact that you guys couldn't close out the game was a little ridiculous in my opinion. Even though we evened it out in towers you guys were eventually way ahead in gold when we flubbed stalling you guys on baron. Your teamfighting should have been a piece of cake but you'd often dive way too deep trying to pick of Vayne and it cost you multiple times, putting us back in. Eventually I fucked up my combo trying to take out Varus (I really should have been able to do that---really a testament to how low my skill is after not playing properly in months) and that pretty much cost us the game.
Individual comments - Kita - That goddamn ult. Didn't splitpush a whole lot that I saw...you guys were pretty far ahead so you didn't need to I suppose? Hit more taunts maybe. MZ - Solid play. Not a great deal to say here. Corazon - Time to play outside of inhouses! Pick up a few more champions and learn them. The fact that you actually jungled fairly successfully at level 11 is pretty impressive in my opinion, actually. If jungling is your thing maybe pick up someone with a little more gank pressure. VE - CS still kinda low for a Lux but your teamfighting was MUCH better. May have been because you had a fairly strong team to peel for you but you did exactly what Lux needs to do---stay back and fire off long range spells. Well done. Johnnywup - Real solid play end of game. You farmed up really nicely to keep us in the game. There were a few points where I thought things might have been better if you had been with us instead of faarming---those calls are tough to make though. Xzavier - Decent play. I daresay your team really made it so that you could stand and auto a ton. Good dueling. Work on hitting them skillshot ults! DP - You tunneled and dove real hard in teamfights and made it easy for people to pick you off. Otherwise good aggression, solid build. Maybe add a BotrK. layabout - Good ults and bubbles. I'm not sure if you were trying to bait me into jumping on you or trying to bait the team or what but there periods in that game where if I wasn't so far behind I could have instagibbed you. Be careful about being the first one to be seen. Keirathi - Didn't really see much of what you did. Appreciate you coming mid to assist while I was being pushed off my tower. Overall solid play I think.
Game 2 - A wash really. We wanted to keep the same teams because we figured we could beat you---I think it's a little more likely that the teams were a little imbalanced. The bans were funny. I had to go feed my kid and johnny apparently lagged balls and so we fed bottom lane real hard. Was over from there.
I really hope we can have more of these in the future and I'm sorry I ruined that second game. I have to work on a LOT of my play as well so hopefully by playing in these I can actually start to get back into the swing of things.
On August 03 2013 14:57 WaveofShadow wrote: We really should have just swapped and taken the XP hit because our bottom lane didn't know how to zone out WW properly (not anyone's fault btw)
We knew how to zone out WW. We were zoning him out fine until I had to start roaming to help lanes out to keep people off of towers.
On August 03 2013 14:57 WaveofShadow wrote: Keirathi - Didn't really see much of what you did. Appreciate you coming mid to assist while I was being pushed off my tower. Overall solid play I think.
I think the biggest problem is just that johnny and I didn't have any synergy. I would go in, he would be too far back. He would go in, I would be too far back. We just weren't clicking.
Part of that is that I would have never picked Taric if I knew we were going to 2v1 against a WW. WW has too much sustain to be able to be pushed out of the lane by a Taric, no matter who his partner is, because Taric just doesn't contribute any damage. You *MIGHT* be able to push WW out if you land good stun->condemn combos, but Vayne didn't land any condemns into a wall. And then me heaving to leave lane to go help other lanes just left vayne 1v1 against WW and got ulted after taking a tower shot.
Thanks for the feedback WoS =) Yeah I don't play too much but I'm going to knock out some games today and get Jarvin because he is a champion I have played before and I really like him =)
okay, im just goign to say it, MY team carried me. It was physically impossible for me to kite in the varus game when there was more than 4 champions on my screen xD. or it just got really really silly, Most of hte fights and duels i was just repeating "Please please please please" over skype
"Xzavier work on hitting those skillshot ults" LOL
kory you were mafia and i as town caused you to make mistakes. (whether i meant to or not) That it is kind of my job. Anyways i would crush you on league cus i am so talented (i am not).

So true
So I don't have a very stable internet connection at the moment, but once I do I'll start playing with you guys if you'll have me. Name's the same. I'd say my best role is probably adc (ezreal/vayne), then top (somewhere around 90% of my games are Teemo, but I own a few others), then mid (don't have a favorite, really, but I like fizz/lux/TF). I'm an abysmal jungler, mostly because I've never actually done it before, and even though I have a good time supporting (only really ever use soraka), I usually feel like I can be of far more use top or as adc.
This lack of internet is really limiting my gaming opportunities =/
I cant tonight. league decided to uninstall itself from my pc. so i can only use my brothers while hes at work. Might change in the next few weeks (planning to buy a new pc. 10 yrs old is kinda silly)
KK. Let's try and play some games tonight ladies and gents. I'm going to be out and I don't know exactly when I'll be back so maybe a tentative 11:00 PM EDT?
I'll have internet soon. It's been way too long since I've played a moba Depending on if we end up getting UVerse or XFinity, I could play anywhere from tomorrow to a week from now, haha.
Fun games tonight! I learned I need to play champions that carry a little better---kills don't translate into towers very well. Corazon pick up the fucking game and play it. It won't bite, I promise. Um...more wards in general and less getting caught?
Johnny you and I should duo once I get home so we can make some more beeg playz.

Haha I like these. Cora the funny thing about not spending money on this game is you think you're being super smart and keeping your resolve, but once you get hooked you'll end up buying $5 worth of RP for that one skin for your main that you feel you just gotta have....and then it goes on from there.
Edit: Also Cora tells me if I start up streaming again I should stream our games. Good idea/bad idea?
I'm not sure what kind of demand there is for low-level games for like...entertainment value. I'd imagine there's plenty of that right? Unless you're gonna like - CAST them and make them seem exciting and not sad.
I'd say good idea, but I haven't actually played with any of you yet, so I'm probably not the best judge. I also have no real reasons for it, I just see it as something fun. I guess it would record the games and could help us get better, but it'll only be from one player's PoV, so *shrugs*.
Good news though - comcast is being installed on Friday, so I'll finally be able to play! I'm super-pro....
Edit: Going from what VE said, when I used to stream sc2 I'd often get somewhere between 0-15 viewers, and many of them would offer helpful advice. I don't know what they got out of watching a high-plat/low-diamond player playing pretty badly, but it made it more fun and sometimes educational to have people watching me play.
Oh shtis Fuba you play too? Sweet! Apparently Comcast has had some interactivity issues with LoL for months now and for some people it's virtually unplayable...good luck!
As far as the streaming goes, it's mostly for my own entertainment, as well as some of the people on TL LoL who enjoyed watching from time to time (since people in that subforum know each other pretty well for the most part---it's often fun to watch people you know play). I'll probably be casting some of the TL LoL inhouses if I get the chance, and if we can get enough people to have Mafia inhouses I can cast those too.
We just have to make sure that our secret 5 man gank squad tactics don't get out there. I'm sure all the pro teams will be studying our vods once they learn about it.

WHAT?!? Noooooooooooo! Time to investigate.
I'm typically more of a dota player, but I definitely find LoL to be more relaxing. I really just use these games as a means of being social, so I play whichever game people are playing at the time. I don't think you understand how unbelievably bad I am at DotA. Like...I've played maybe 10 games in my life. Like a year ago. I don't even know what all the heroes do and what the items are.

I'm still working on my Training games - I'm even worse at DotA than I am at LoL (if you believe THAT) and I haven't been ostracized that I know of. I think you'll be good mang.
Haha we'll see. I actually forgot about the training mode and whatnot---that was added long after I stopped playing. I'll do that stuff first before I subject anyone to anything.

If I see you get mana boots on sniper, then we can't play together ever again.
those are probably the only two heroes that use them still, I think. Situational on OD too if I'm not mistaken. Most supports don't build them anymore cause you get hit a few times and they're worse than normal boots.
some commentators were flaming Loda during TI3 for having tranquils on PL at 30 minutes. He was so fucking slow in every fight lol
I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my flight back to school. No more good computer :/ I'll still hop on from time to time but my nightly LoL adventures are over until the next break.
Things we learned last night: 1) There exists a level 12 Zyra that is possibly worse than VE 2) Shaco clearly out-scales Vayne in the ultra late game 3) An 11k gold deficit 20 minutes into the game ain't no thang

Hey come on now, let's be fair. Cora is definitely worse than VE.
I think Jay just knows how to Assassin better than the Vayne knew how to ADC. He was all over the place and he had WAY more kills than I thought he did...like some kind of demonic jester NINJA.
Anyone having trouble getting into their accounts? I can't actually remember the e-mail I used to signup for LoL and it says my account name does not exist.
Cora: They forced a pw change a few days ago because their servers were compromised. You've either gotten your shit stolen or they force changed your pw for you?
yamato: My guy is having a bad night so I wouldn't want to have to leave midgame and screw anyone. Maybe tomorrow?

They told me that my password had to be changed and when they asked for my account name it said that an account under that name didn't exist.

I know I complained about this to Xzavier last night but I've been having a problem with bad teammates. For example:
-Played Mordekaiser top, went 6-4 and 140 cs in about 25 minutes...we got creamed -Played Modrekaiser top, managed to push all the way to opponents inhibitor on my own at 23 minutes, had to surrender while attacking inhibitor -Played Yi jungle, started 10-0 and ended up 10-3 at around 25 minutes when we surrendered -Played various ADC characters (and by various I mean Ashe and Corki) with great farming, yet forced to surrender
Am I cursed, or is there something I can do to use my lane advantage (or being a fed jungle) to help my teammates do better? About 7/8 of my matches so far this weekend have been losses where I haven't fed.

Not feeding and carrying are two different things. If you just dont feed then your depending on your teammates to carry you.
The biggest things that can help you win are objective control (towers, dragon) and roaming the map. For instance when you were morde top if your ahead gank mid or ward there jungle and start taking control of it. If your mid after a kill get dragon time it and make sure you pink and scoop it up next time its up.
Not all games are carriable but the vast majority of them are.

So you are saying that if I win one lane I should shift my focus to helping out all over the rest of the map? It's hard with some champions (Morde) because they are slow. Would Boots of Swiftness/Mobility help with that more?

Swifties/mobility Morde is kinda cheesy/quirky but doable. It really depends on the game. You don't necessarily need to be able to move slightly faster to be able to help out other lanes; for example Morde is very good at farming/pushing waves extremely quickly. After you take top tower you can push in the wave as far as you can (assuming you have their jungle and the river warded so you don't get ganked) and then once the opposing top laner is forced to stick around or lose farm, that's when you go and help out mid/take dragon/force advantaged fights.

Don't buy those. If you really want runes right now, get some cheap Tier 1s, or start saving for the Tier 3. The Tier 2 are incredibly cost-ineffective.
(Also you should probably look up some sort of rune guide to make sure you're not buying anything particularly useless.)
Edit: Oh, flerp, the T3s ARE the level 20 ones. It's been a LONG time. Yeah some of them are expensive, some of them aren't. Again consult a guide as to which ones will get you the most bang for your IP.

Probably going to build a tanky set of runes first since it seems nobody wants to play initiator when I join a game. I'm only what, barely into level 12 so plenty of time. Wanted to grab a few champions to try, but there's always the free ones if I get bored of Garen.
You can probably get away with running something like Magic (or Armor) Pen reds, Armor yellows, MR blues, and your preferred choice of quints (MS/Health/AD/AP) on just about any champ. The difference between tier 1 and tier 3 isn't so large that you'd need to buy them all immediately to stay competitive.
Hey guys. Good session tonight. Thanks Xzavier for inviting me ^^
I'm really glad that I was able to avoid feeding and add something to the team. It makes me feel good to go even even though I lack the runes/experience that everyone else has.
In future games, I am hoping that you guys will critique my play more. I know I have a lot to learn and I would not be offended by any feedback. I have a better feeling for the game everytime I play for you guys and I think I can get even better if you guys steer me in the right direction. Thanks =)
I was playing jungle Yi and our team was not doing so well (their renekton was fed and we were down 15-20 kills). After a while I stopped trying and told my team how I was "canadien" (spelled wrong on purpose) and said a whole bunch of dumb crap in all chat. The renekton was not convinced that I was trolling and asked me if I was special. I told him that I was special and that he was some silly Quebecois independence fighter.
Eventually we got an inhib and the nexus turrets down. Our team tried to end it but we were repelled back. Eventually, my friend told me to backdoor and buy a second zephyr. I did that, flashed into the base, and took out the nexus. The renekton was so mad cause he went like 20-2 and lost the game XD.

so for the longest time I've thought that there was something wrong with vlad's Q and E casts where sometimes things screwed up. Well when your team is down by 20 kills after 20 minutes, the next 20 of running out and dying aren't very fun.

Or blitz. I was in a team of ez vs blitz and I seemed to be the only one that could use E while pulled to invalidate the pull. Also try GP Carpet bomb the entire lane.
I main AP Speedmo (works in any lane and omg so fun) and I'm learning ADC Ashe. I am "in" the channel on League when I play but people are usually playing when I sign on. I'll send a message you probably won't see because you're Crip-walking, er, I mean orb walking.
Alright so MZ you should update the summoner list because Mocsta, Risen, Holyflare, Geript, etc are all playing now and as such I think I'm going to start trying to get some 5v5 inhouses going!
Over the next few days I may attempt to organize a bunch of people to see if we can play some games together like we used to. A few things to understand about these inhouses that people should know: There are going to be people of all skill levels playing---I (or whoever is running it) will do my best to equalize the teams to the best of my ability but it won't be perfect. There are people who will just stomp everyone they play against, and there are people who are just learning, will suck and die 100 times per game.
So long as everyone keeps in mind these games are for fun, and hopefully the skilled players can remember that the new/worse players are learning, and the new players can remember not to get frustrated as it's part of the learning experience, we can have some really fun games.
I think I'll try to set something up for tomorrow night, say ? I may not play in it myself as I won't be on my home computer but I will do my best; at the very least we should have enough people around that all of you can play.
Oh yes, I should mention, feel free to join the ingame chat channel 'TL Mafia;' and/or hang out in the TL Mafia TeamSpeak channel around/before that time or whenever to find people to play with or wait for others to get on.
If there are people reading this who haven't downloaded the game yet, what are you waiting for?! (HAPA)
"Server is busy please try again later" I was getting disconnected constantly ingame about an hour ago. haha. Unfiltered was on so there was no panic, doe.
Wards Communication Wards Map awareness Wards Mechanics Wards Strategy
I may have missed some wards but that's my interpretation. I will try to do everything that builds towards strategy and will find myself naturally implementing one? Also my jungler will love me?
Was goin to post this in another thread but it was a shit thread. Also watched a few too many Sky Williams and gbay99 vids.
We’ve introduced a stable roster of free champions for new players to play. Our goal is to improve the way players learn to play League of Legends when they’re first starting out. These champions were picked because of how easy they can be learned and how enjoyable most new players find them.
These changes will be turned on at a later date Players new to League of Legends will now have a static roster of free champions to play during their first few levels; after which, they will use the normal Free to Play rotation

Actually, I don't mind the game too much. It was annoying dying with 2s but I realise some of the major contributing factors so think I will do a lot better next time.
Biggest thing I dont get is the committment required to play ranked.. Gotta be lvl 30.. + 10 games.. heck. i only played about 8 games and am lvl 5... gonna be aw hile before I even get flash as a summoner spell, let alone reach lvl 30.

I wonder if noobs like Mocsta are likely to continue playing
Actually, I don't mind the game too much. It was annoying dying with 2s but I realise some of the major contributing factors so think I will do a lot better next time.
Biggest thing I dont get is the committment required to play ranked.. Gotta be lvl 30.. + 10 games.. heck. i only played about 8 games and am lvl 5... gonna be aw hile before I even get flash as a summoner spell, let alone reach lvl 30.
Yeah I apologize on behalf of all LoL players/Riot because it honestly must suck a huge fat one to try and get into the game now consider how many more champions there are to buy than when I joined. Add in trying to get to level 30, rune costs, etc...
I'll see if I can set up some more inhouses pretty soon, and maybe we can try to get them going with a bit of learning experience in mind for those newer players.

250cs... OMG...that makes me feel like scum (read: small dick)
I'm struggling to crack 100cs in a 40min game.
I get the concept of last-hitting, but I'm struggling with the animation delay of Ryze (who I am trying to focus on playing)
Oh it's funny considering he used to half one of the worst animations in the game---Riot has been steadily changing that though. The owrst one was Anivia until they literally JUST changed her in the most recent patch. Mocsta if you've ever played DotA each Hero in that game has a different speed of animation and list hitting is much more difficult. I imagine you'll get used to it pretty quick in this game, especially if you start to play one of the champs with a slightly more fluid/sharp animation at some point.
We’ve introduced a stable roster of free champions for new players to play. Our goal is to improve the way players learn to play League of Legends when they’re first starting out. These champions were picked because of how easy they can be learned and how enjoyable most new players find them.

So far I bought Annie, Ash, Ryze.
I was really pissed off cos my first game = Blitzcrank second = fiddlestix Third, fourth, fifth = jax started looking up builds for jax etc and then went to play the 6th game and hes been rotated out.
Ryze, Annie, Ashe were the only ones I could afford -- if i want to improve with one person consistently.
I can get hero kill with Ryze which is good at least cos i was majorly struggling with Jax to score kills. (got plenty of assists though)

Well I should add, im getting that CS dual laning without a support.
I prob gonna setup a no bot custom and see if I can get close to 70cs by the 10min mark. If I can do that I be happy. Apparently the pros can regularly do like 90-100?

Apparently they very recently added a static group a champions for beginners---who are the free champions for you at the moment?
Also I would suggest trying every free champion in at least one game, and then saving up for champions you think you like or are good at. Buying those first few low cost ones is a good start as well though.

I don't know if I'd worry about cs yet because you're going to be battling uphill against game mechanics and meta and stuff you don't even know about yet. If it's something you want to practice it's definitely something you can do, but just remember you're still pretty low level so I wouldn't worry TOO much about that as long as you're hitting levels consistent with people you're playing in games with (when you solo queue).

So far the only solo queue I have done is playing bots (beginner and intermediate). I haven't been lucky enough to solo lane, so usually 2nd highest level on team.
Noted. OO taught me to buy the totems so trying to put them up, but its annoying cos they dont last that long.
I'll be on in a bit to play I guess once this coffee is done. Nobody jungles in bot games because the bots don't so to keep lanes even it goes 2-1-2. If you get a good person for solo top you can use a jungle or just he ready as jungle to help top very quickly when needed. Reading the situation and/or having teleport ready and warding their shit for them sometimes helps a lot.

Veigar's certainly not bad, just not a favoured 'meta' champion. The thing is, you have to be able to land his stun directly to hope to play him at a decent level, and unlike other champions who blow their load to kill someone + can escape, Veigar's abilities are fairly short range and once his stun wears off and he's blown his shit, he's pretty vulnerable.
I can't stress this enough for newer players btw, don't let ANYONE tell you who is bad or not. You're not playing at Diamond 1 or Challenger level, so if you can make a champion work for you, ANYTHING is viable.

You didn't but it sounded too self-aggrandizing to say, "Hey bitches I'm awesome. Look how awesome I am." Especially when it was only to silver I Soooooo I just blamed the last person I talked to before I qued for my spark

I started season 3 at Silver I, ended off at Gold III, and now I'm back at Silver I. So annoying XD
Pls. I started LoL at beta and I ended season 1 in a respectable spot... Haitus until S3 and ended at mid silver. True Lol troll Echo! Tuhuehe! Much fun though. I'm sure 80% of my team hates me in like 70% of my games.
On January 28 2014 05:17 ObviousOne wrote: Can someone explain why Teemo is so hated? I live in the US and I main Teemo yadayada.
Hm.... How should I explain this... It's kind of why things like the "Son of Satan" are hated or "The Devil Himself" A similar response is provoked when we hear mention of the being known as "Teemo"
Teemo hardly relies on any kind of skill because of absurd burst from blinding dart + poison shot and shrooms. He is very hard to catch thanks to his W and shrooms. Split pushes very well. Snowballs real hard. On the other hand he sucks in higher elo because he has no CC at all and there are a lot better picks around.
On January 28 2014 05:17 ObviousOne wrote: Can someone explain why Teemo is so hated? I live in the US and I main Teemo yadayada.
Play him a few games, especially top lane, and you'll see.
Teemo absolutely STOMPS a lot of auto attack reliant champions with blind and a lot of harrass, while being difficult for a lot of champs to trade with because his W makes him move faster and the whole blind thing.
He does it all with very little skill on his part. Maybe you time a blind nicely when someone comes in on you, but normally, you just sit far enough away they can't touch you and poke their faces until they die or back. MOST of the time, if they're smart, you just poke forever and they have to back.
For the player laning against teemo in that situation, there's (a) almost nothing they can do to teemo apart from having a jungler camp and (b) no feeling that teemo has skill, he's not making awesome lee sin plays, he's not landing perfect skillshots or anything, he just right clicks you and sometimes pushes Q.
The shrooms are certainly part of it, nobody likes just getting hit by stuff and slowed by stuff when no enemy is around, but i think playing a couple games against him really highlights the TRUE reason you should hate him. He's incredibly dominant in a lot of matchups, not because the teemo player does anything well, and not in a way that the non-teemo player can counter.
Ladder anxiety too stronk. 1-0 in my promos to gold :S Can't bring myself to play the others XD I've been in my promos so long league warned me I only have 7 days left to advance or they'd auto fail my promo and derank me rofl.
lol no I haven't done anything cast-related in almost a year and a half I think. No time to be put on somebody else's schedule really, and I barely even play the game myself anymore.
