Well played everyone.
I don't know if I dare read the obs chat, but it may be hard to resist.
I think you'll find it quite pleasant :>

GG to all and special thanks to hzflank for leading this town win to the end ^^

I personally would like to thank all 3 coaches. I think we had some absolutely amazing coaches. I know that I had some phenominal co-hosts. Thank God that Adam didn't use his gun on any other co-hosts. That could've been dangerous. One last thing.
Ace has been lynched for being Ace

Wow, that mafia coach in the QT was practically orchestrating this entire game for them. WAY more active than I thought a coach would be in these games. Onegu would have died Day 2 if the coach hadn't explicitly given him the only excuse for a Watcher to target a scum-read (post #184 in mafia chat) that I requested from Onegu.

Thanks to Hapa for coaching and thanks to Ace for being very helpful in the obs. Thanks to all the hosts as well.
It sounds like analysis is coming, but if anyone has advice on how to improve, I would really love to hear it.

Haha, I am surprised my silly Vet claim caused so much discussion in scum QT :p

Great game to learn how to play scum on and improve.
Remember contrary to what BH says...scum slips DO exist!

Disagree on orchestrating the entire game. Ace was great when we hit a wall and were all "i dont know what to do here" and gave us good advice and help.

I still think that "scumslip" could just as easily be a miswording from a townie.
"You have to remember that scum have a tracker" ==> "You have to remember that scum could have a tracker" and the rest of his point works just as well.

Haha, looks like my fake Aqua tunnel strategy to stay alive worked like a charm:
Spicy: "hz should probably die, but tofu is a very loud and active townie. Him dying would push votes to me. We need to focus on getting an aqua mislynch and to a lesser extent, a stim. Hurricane is throwing a lot of shit at aqua so we may want to keep him around. And the more i think of it i think tofu may be a better nk as i can just claim scum killed him to throw more suspicion on me. "
Onegu: "We have to keep stim alive no matter what, aqua should be kept alive also as he is a possible suspect , hurricane Hz and Firm are our best possible targets,
Of those i think hz os pur best target killing firm points to one of us and hurricane is makeing a case on aqua, so i think hz is our best option "
Love it when a plan comes together. Played like a fiddle, fellows.

Yeah, if he was coaching me, I'd defend him too. Felt like playing vs. 4 mafia, reading all the unsolicited advice and strategy he was giving you guys...

Well played errbody! Was way to busy to pay too close attention to the game to do any sort of writeup but from what I saw I was fairly impressed. Next game should be going up pretty soon so get your newbie games out of the way already and sign up for da beeg ones!!

yeah except it was a proper slip. it COULD have been a miswording, but likelihood is that it isn't, probably. Further it wasn't the only time on day 1 he slipped something like that. Once it happens twice... well, yeah ^^

This was my first time coaching and I think I might have helped too much at times myself. I wasn't always sure how to approach some of their questions without being useless or getting into theory debates which would have wasted time.

I'd say you were trying to be far too nice to everyone the whole game if anything
My 3 major lessons from this game were: 1) I utterly suck as scum, far more than I do as town 2) Don't bother playing if you can't play full on from the start, playing from behind the whole game is not fun 3) Playing scum is not as much fun, and generates a whole lot of stress
Probably the only thing I managed to get right was latching on to Xzavier on day 1. After that it was just downhill all the way.
Going to take at least one game break for now I think - this game quite literally made me lose sleep and appetite from the stress, so I think I need some time to recover.
Thanks to all the hosts and players and sorry to my teammates whom I let down.

I would imagine that it is easier for newbies to learn town than to learn scum, for the scum coach should probably take a more active role than the town coach, anyway.
|
Don't hate just because you didn't make full use of your coaches. Scum coaches are different from town coaches in that they have all the information just like the scumteam does - so coaching scum is less about trying to help newbies without slipping information about others and more about general strategy/advice.
Having read most of the ScumQT I don't think anything Ace did was out of line. He was certainly more active as a coach than I usually am, but I don't think he "orchestrated the game" by any stretch.
|
To be fair Lone, Town really picked their game up after Onegu. I would put the result more on Hurricane and Aqua than on you. Aqua had to walk a real tightrope for a long time in order to avoid being lynched.
