I knew I had one chance and once chance only to stave off my inevitable death: I had to ham it up as hard as I could, playing the role of the incompetent but earnest townie. I referenced Ver's guide and scumcast. I talked about trying to be open. I was incoherent, moody, and clearly incompetent. I don't think I've ever had as much fun playing as scum before. ObviousOne, it was an honor and a pleasure. You certainly kept things fun and interesting for me. 5/5 partner would scum again. Oh man still chuckling at that reveal. Thanks for your support and guidance and distracting them from me. <3

Unfortunately due to game start time I was really only getting into the swing of things as I replaced out. And I do mean that very directly, as you may have noticed (and you did since people called me out on it) I never followed through on the second half of my filter reads and updated reads on players. As I was writing up my piece on Tom, a piece which said he was town by the way, I was informed of an attempt by two people I live(d) with to get me deported and my young lady arrested. That ended up taking priority over mafia as, I am sure, you understand. That aside some thoughts on the game, the players and the overall event that was smurf mini: 1. To the town as individuals: Well played Vivax, you did an excellent job early on. You need to work on both your confidence and your late game reads but you are quite good at the game and, as I've mentioned to you in private before I think a lot of the problems you have stem from some early plays on your part (LIX and Personality are good examples) which stuck in people's minds even though they are not indicative of your actual skill. It was, as always, a pleasure to play with you and I'm glad to have you as a friend and nemesis in mafia games. I really wish you would listen to the people who tell you that your play was sub optimal kush. You take the game we love and refuse to play it to the best of your ability. You have the occasional flashes of brilliance that show you could be a good mafia player but you shit all over them with your attitude and attention for the game. You are right, it was obvious who you were and because of that obvious that you were town. But when you rely on your meta as a bad player to keep you alive in a smurf game you are doing it objectively wrong. It isn't just your play that makes you an object of annoyance to other players, it is your blatant disregard for their constructive criticism. I don't have a lot of sympathy for you here. When you get lynched in lylo regularly as town the fault lies not with the other townies but with yourself. Palmar has a wonderful post on this you could look up. As to Palmar himself, well as always your play was excellent early on and faltered in the late game. I think you are too stuck in the idea of people playing the game the 'right' way. It is why you think that Kush is scum all the time, the things he does are objectively bad and anti-town and therefore scummy. Unfortunately he isn't going to change, nor are other players like him. You are good enough to know how to read the scum from the chaff but the onus to do that is on you. Just as Kush should be blaming himself for his infinite mislynches you should be looking at your own play to identify the weakness that has you mislynching townies like Kush so frequently. I'd also like to personally apologize to you, I know you hate replacements and I do as well. My bad. Adam, you said you don't want to be thought of as a liability, I was pretty surprised to hear that actually. as I think of you as anything but. You rest somewhere between a two and a three on my personal mafia usefulness linear progression wherein a one is a supervet and a five is a total newb. I find you generally level headed and worth talking to. Someone I expect to understand things when I bring them up and who has the ability to bring up things I didn't notice. I think you reprized that role here rather well. When I saw the role list I was not surprised by you in the least, though I had not guessed you, you played well though it was nothing more than I expect of you. To my dear replacement, Mr M Ocsta. You did alright. When I made my comment on you thinking badly it was your pushing of the Tom lynch that got me. Tom, on my reread looked town. Very town. Super duper town. His flow was counter thread and totally scum hunty. Reading him as scum was a shit mistake on my part early on that came from being dumb. You following though on that was bad because you put the time into it. If you genuinely looked at Tom up and down and thought 'that guy is probably scum' you need to rethink how you find scum. Tom was town and you should have seen it. 2. Nick and Noah's infinite playlist: You guys did a great job with the shit that was handed to you. I have no idea how neither of you were lynched on the back of Yamato and Shraft. As Bugs said, the game was over after day one. I love how you decided to handle the game as this is the only situation where such a strategy could work and I think it was hilarious. Imp mentioned in the obs that he had a lot of trouble with this game because he couldn't remember who his scum buddies were. I think that is the wrong attitude for a smurf mini. I've always wanted to roll scum in a smurf game for that reason. I could quite literally hunt scum in the thread and try to figure out my partners for the whole game. Since all these names slip through my mind it would be easy to play as if I was a townie. 3. Goodbye all. I've loved my time on TL mafia and I love playing with all of you. I'm both happy and proud to think of you as friends but for a while I need to go. I'm getting too engrossed in the game while simultaneously losing my passion for it, and I'm finding real life is lagging as a result. I need to get my life back together and so for the moment Mafia has to take a back burner. I'm glad I could have such an enjoyable last game with you all.

I hope everything goes well for you and you find time to come back and play some day again. Having taken a break this year from almost everything aside from school I can tell you that it's nice to be able to focus and sort yourself together, but you should definitely set aside time for yourself to relax and have fun with friends and whatnot. (and of course this means no stressful mafia games!)
