the only thing that made me vote you as the day started was because i thought marv was lyncher and when he flipped town i was like "well, maybe he is right, let's put some pressure on Ace". Then all the guys hammered you cos you said you'd be back in 2hours and went MIA for ~12. | ||

Yeah my issue was as I said prp's thought processes were more or less exactly what I was thinking about you at the time; imo real hard to do something like that as scum. I figured you not hammering me would be because you'd be worried about how it would look bad rather than just go balls out for the mislynch but I guess not hammering (as can be seen in the scum QT) is just considered bad scum paly. | ||

So, going with the theme of EGO, I decided to do a pretty standard-fare setup, only with a Lightning Rod! Excitement! I made the investigative role a Parity Cop - mostly to make sure he can't trust any of the checks he recieved, since a maybe-present framer would hit his base check automatically, so on top of not recieving anything n1, which would also apply to a normal detective ( or rather - he would get green/red depending on if framer is present which would give him too much of an idea about the setup since he can deduce if a framer is present or not. Medics and other protection was out of the picture entirely - I would have to put more KP in the game for that, and that would have gotten a bit too wild imo - altough of course, only the LR dying on n1 would perhaps balance this out relatively well. I decided to make the only 'real' powerrole this game the 1shot vigi, which basically was an intelligence check if he notices the words "lightning rod" in the OP. On top of the regular hitting-scum business. I can't really remember why I made the LR non-self-aware, tbh. Maybe because I thought the person that got it would be sad if he knew that. Rather, give them fun surprises! On role distribution - Of course going by names, the mafia team was probably to be considered "disfavored". Such is the way of RNG #hostconfessions: I only RNG'd the LR between Ace, Palmar and marv (marv won! yay!!) because not only did it fit them far better in the way of the theme, but in the end, if the shot was going to be forced, it really wouldn't be fair to let it hit randomguy69. Mostly because of flavor though. As for how the game played out.... Day 1, for the most part, actually looked really good for the scumteam. I dare say, if it had been a regualar 48/24 cycle, this would have been a completely different game - Axle got lynched 2 hours before no-lynch, ~72 hours into the game. A day earlier, nobody even really looked at him. During the first night, the mafia team turned out to be incredibly unlucky again - the dude that was destined to die by magic lightning bolts had completely wrong reads for the largest part of the first cycle, and even after the flip, they were only marginally better. On the other hand, one of the other people that were in 'contention' for the role was the mislynch for day2. What I take away from that, the Lightning Rod is a fun role in theory, and for some light relief maybe - but in practice, it makes the game a bit too static and unflexible. I probably won't use it again in games. After that, well things happened. Ace got (understandably) mislynched, although of course, if you're running in instant majority, if a guy asks for time, it's always better to give him of what you have plenty. In theory. In practice, and speaking from my own experience in instant majority games, it's far too tempting to yolo-hammer people. Few can withstand the temptations. Errr, yeah, what I'm saying is, unless the same thing that happened in Noir happens (erryone afk), the extra time you can carve out is very pro-town and stuff. Actually I cba to write more, the most important thing in this game was actually the following Vigilante role PM: You are the Vigilante! You're fed up with all those subhuman baddies infesting your games. Clearly you are superior to all of them, since you are the smartest guy and best mafia player around. Once in the game, during the night, you may choose a person to shoot with your magic gun. Alongside the hit, you must send in an explanatory statement about how and why you are infinetly better than your target. There's a chance your accuracy might vary, depending on that essay. + Show Spoiler + PS: the accuracy variance I 'warned' about would not have been going into negatives, only if it was a REAL fucking good essay I would have let the bullet pierce through the LR's passive in night1 - the fabled "Rule of Awesome", you see? The essay provided was pretty good, but a bit too whiny, so not enough pure awesome. The reason I’m leaving is you people. Because after I’m gone, you’re still going to sheep vets that aren't me. I’m just a spoke on the wheel. The wheel is going to keep turning and I understand that. Noob towns are going to catch scum despite themselves. They should be winning 80 percent of games instead of 50. You know why thats not the case? Because towns get infested nonsensical, douchebag, martyers , like tunkeg, who are going to tell themselves that they are playing well, and I’d like to think that maybe this town will better after tunkeg is dead. But the fact is, it’s going to be taken over by his idiotic noobs and doofus vets and the rest of the stupid players. ## Shoot Tunkeg Despite the result of this shoot im still best in the world. If he is scum im the best and if he is town im still better and he is just bad. I enjoyed hosting the game and it was really funny to read, especially the nightphases ^_^ I expected a few more shitfests and egos-clashing, but it was probably objectively better it didn't happen, lol | ||
