I don't agree with marvel's case on hopeless. I'm not sure why he picked mario mafia to look at because hopeless played in LVIII and he had a very strange opening in that game with his going on about policy lynching in the beginning. His thing about super going after risk seems very similar to me. Also, I don't think he would be so insistent in badgering marv about making a case if he was mafia.

I chose mario because it's a mini, unlike LVIII. I also disagree that he was particularly 'insistent'. Actually it's natural for either a town or a mafia player would want to know if i was making a case on him.

Right but LVIII is more recent and the opening situation is much more similar to this game in my opinion. Do you not feel the same way?

Like the beginning of Mario from what I see is just very casual in general. It seems natural that he would post in a more casual manner there.

I will have nothing to do with a policy lynch on any specific player. If a player warrants such treatment, they shouldn't be allowed to play in the first place. You may not like grush's playstyle, but I don't find it entirely devoid of reason or thinking.

I am willing to go after lurkers, but that's about as far as I am concerned with policy.

Marv, syllo and Sandroba what do you think of this?

Artanis seems to be following the thread pretty closely and has been quite aggressive/assertive and confident (See e.g. this post). I don't understand how you could characterize his filter as "blending in very well"; he voiced out several suspicions and has been willing to reconsider people based on new evidence (he was suspicious of risk.nuke and then changed his mind). I've absolutely no reason to consider him a good lynch candidate for today.

Again Zess and me trolling each other when there's nothing in the thread yet. I replied with utter bullshit and he replied with utter bullshit to my bullshit. Got to admit I was laughing pretty good around that time especially when I saw Coags smurf comment.

idk. I thought it was supposed to be a joke because of the phrasing. Perhaps you read to much into my initial post?

Fair enough.
3) Zess was pushing for a mason claim. I thought it's a bad idea. You think I should have ignored it? Of course I'm going to tell him I don't claims if he wants something as drastical as claims on d1.

It's fluff because you said something in 6 lines that you could've said in one: It's a terrible idea because it can be abused by scum and they might try to use it as a ploy.
4) It's called a pressure vote because again, he did nothing but oneliners up to that point and I wanted him to start doing something. It worked out I might add.

Pressure votes tend to mean a lot more when you actually expand about them and give your opinion. You spend your time more on things that aren't alignment indicative rather than using the time to analyze players and find who's scum. It seems like you're more interested in keeping a status quo than doing research.
5 Idk, not much to say here other than that I disagree. Yes I post some fluff, probably more than most people. No I don't consider everything in my filter fluff like you make it out to be. You'll find that to be true in every single game I play. I usually do bullshit on d1 on purpose to get some conversations going even if that means it's on the back of me and I did get some criticism for it postgame sometimes but I still think it's the best to do if town is sleeping. You can't get content out of thin air, you have to start somewhere and that's how I do it.

Do you have links to some games where you were town in mini games? Preferably recent, and anyone may answer that.

go ahead and ask people like Marv and Supersoft what they think about my style of posting and you'll find out that if your criteria of fluff is "posted something he could have said in 5 lines in 10 or even 15 lines" and you'll find out that that'll be true for 99% of all my posts on TL... even outside mafia.
I'd usually call posts that don't have anything in them fluff whereas posts that have a lot of text in them and a rather small nuclear that is the gist of it useful because it shows your thoughtprocess way better and that's the thing we want to look into after all...

Basicly you're (or my, I numbered them after all) point 3 and 4 are completly opposed to each other imo. In 3 you tell me I'm posting fluff because I'm going on way to much when posting when I could be more frank about it and just bring it in a two-liner instead. In 4 you accuse me to not give enough reasoning and that I'm not expanding on my thoughtprocess (I think I did in the part you are quoting btw). I'm going on and posting so much to make sure my line of reasoning is understandable if you're willing to read it.

About other minis... idk I was town in Keirathi's C9++ other than that I haven't played a lot of minis recently. I only started playing again 1 month or maybe 2 months ago.

right, both those quotes are disbelief, wtf moments. Here he is specifically calling it "scummy as shit", in LVIII he quite clearly did not.

I don't know - I don't actually agree lol. Like maybe I'm just looking at the overall feel more rather than specific phrasing or such, but the general style he has just seems more similar.

The overall feel is as I described in my case. He's looser and more carefree as town, and more constructed as mafia.

meh. maybe you are right. I don't know, I think I've wanted to lynch hopeless every game I've played with him and he always seems to be a big lynch/vig candidate in every game that I've seen him play, so maybe I'm just wary because of that.

I am willing to go after lurkers, but that's about as far as I am concerned with policy.

ya. i mean, i'm not all guns blazing that he's mafia, but i think there's a pretty good chance of it. what you said here reminds me of austin's argument to me on Day 1 of LIX when I wanted to lynch prplhz - "i always find him scummy, he always seems to be a lynch target". Of course, but these guys roll mafia as well ^^

Talk to me about yamato, then. What about his questions did you find unnatural?

I don't think 3 and 4 are opposed to eachother at all. In 3, you expand a lot on something that is trivial at best, yet in 4 you accuse someone of scum without providing any backing for it. Your posts about trivial things are big, yet your one accusatory post is unreasoned. Do you understand my problem with where you spend your energy?

It'd be great if said players could confirm that. Can't go through the filter of those games right now myself. However, I wasn't the only one suspicious of you. It'd be nice if people like sandro spoke up and said what they thought.

@Marv, my response to your case is quite succinct. I'll even quote you to support my need to "construct" my posts:

Hey Vivax. Did you learn shit from LIX? I hope for the sake of my faith in my humanity, the answer is yes. Maybe try to play like you learnt something. My tolerance level this game for stupid shenannies will be markedly lower.

A greater portion of the posts you quoted were in response or regarding Vivax in some way. Suppose my first instinct is to respond in a "fuck off and die in a fire" manner. Now suppose I am trying to curb that instinct, but still want to hold some type of reasonable discourse. The result is the posts you've taken issue with.

Regarding the drop in pressure on Zess, don't worry that's coming back momentarily.

Talk to me about yamato, then. What about his questions did you find unnatural?

They didn't seem like questions that have actual answers to me, or at least answers that he would want to know or hear - like he asked matt "While he's often pro-town as mafia or scum, wouldn't you not want to let yourself be influenced by marv's opinions on the alignments of players if he is mafia?". Like his thought process there doesn't seem real to me - if marv is often pro-town even as scum, why is mattchew's choice so bad if he really can't distinguish properly? It seemed more like he was trying to subtly suggest that matt knew alignments. The thing about sandroba seems fake because I'm pretty sure that they've played together and everyone in every single game always goes "sandroba so easy to read"

Then the question about syllo talking to sandroba seemed really strange because first - why is he asking risk.nuke a question on syllo's thought process and that phrase " if he's town?" at the end just rubs me the wrong way. Also his reaction right after seemed unnaturally angry.

Okay I checked filters on hiro / Oo / Matt and there's not much to say about them other than what was already said. They're all pretty much in the same boat being kind of plan-B lynches because there's so little to go on about. Matt and Oo looking worse than Hiro.
Yamato on the other hand looks bad because he's just not his usual self. He's in no way or form anywhere near as "in your face" as he usually is when rolling town. Doesn't look like he's his usual tunnelish-I'm-100%-certain-no-matter-what-self at all.

I'd say Yamato is the best course of action and lynching into any of the other three (Matt / Oo / Hiro) would only be a choice if we happen to not have a suitable lynchcandidate. But we have one.

Yamato who do want to lynch besides Zess/Supersoft? So far your filter looks closer to British Empire (mafia) than Parallel worlds (town). Perhaps you were slightly more defensive in British empire than in this game.
