PW (Parallel World): @Blazinghand
Swapping the most scummiest players on both sides works directly counter to the plan. You are trying to lynch all the scummies from one world and replace them with town. If you swap scummiest from both sides that means you forgo lynching a very scummy candidate in order to lynch a perhaps less scummy candidate from the "town" world.

BW (Both World)
I don't like the plan. As it stands whoever we stands gets 1 cycle of lynch immunity which serves as perpetual distraction to discussion. You pump the "town" world with helpful / active / useful players and the "scum" town will be full of harder to read / inactive / less helpful players. Sure you could shout at them from one world to another but if they can't read one thread they probably can't read.

I think we should just swap players of roughly equal alignment, e.g. swap kinda townie with a kinda townie, to avoid the swap.

That's not the issue randombum. The problem is that though hypothetically swapping nulls is the best way to reduce the effects of the swap, in practice it just doesn't work. Deciding null players is oxymoronic.

I like austin's explanation (sans the mayoral aspect).

Also, lynching scum is first priority. Confirmed town list is useful only in that it helps lynch scum, so any plan involving no lynch is playing catch up from the getgo.

That's not what I said. I said deciding null players is oxymoronic, because getting a read on a player means concluding that they are more likely town or scum. Lurky / useless people generally tend to be scum and you would be lynching into them anyways, so to look for null players makes no sense. Swapping them is the worst thing to do because it alleviates pressure off of them for a full cycle - if you want mafia to play actively you lynch into them, not swap them.

I've been waiting to see further development of the whole thing, and was also hoping more people would comment about it.

The initial spat means nothing (or is unsubstantiated by anything meaningful) on both sides. As Palmar says, the only thing worth mentioning is Foolishness' response (or lack thereof). My question is addressing the point that there has been this awkward transition to talking about crossfire - his name was tossed out initially by marv, and strangely echoed by Foolishness. How does that not strike you as strange? Two people butting heads and suddenly all attention is on a bystander?

As for the swap I've said my share and it's iGrok town to decide what they do. We should focus on today's lynch.

That is one of the reasons, yes. I've also factored in Marv's meta read on him and how Fool handled it. Also, he hasn't really denied being scum, just sort of has been deflecting the issue by arguing with folks.

Also, my maps show that Fool has absolutely no support from anyone on either world. In fact, he even has some negative vibes from Sandro and Yomato, both of whom I consider to be playing fairly towny at this point.

Now that I've tilted my hand, it's your turn to explain your reason for voting for him.

How is this justification for voting someone? Wouldn't you expect of all people for scum to have some sort of support?

My initial vote on Foolishness was for pressure, not because I thought he was particularly scummy. My vote is still on him cause his response itself is scummy.

If someone hard defended Fool in this situation, it would have come off to me as incredibly scummy, especially since we were about to see his flip. If Fool had flipped mafia, then his scumbuddy who tried to defend him would have been immediately under the scope. Now that he isn't under direct threat, though, it is interesting to me to see who is coming to his defense...

What do you mean by this? Why would scum go through the trouble of defending a buddy who can't be lynched?

marv, like I said I'm here on and off.

I'm not seeing where you are getting at with austin. Are you saying that town austin is usually paranoid about you and therefore would have no doubt included you in the check? I don't see much reason for scum to come in when town has no idea what to do after their main scum lynch was taken away, and then fake claim to offer up lynching guidance the way he did it.

I'm leaning Kenpachi as a lurker / unreadable lynch.

yes, I would absolutely expect him to include me on a check. In fact you were co-host in LV when I played around with austin in Toad's mason chat, and he's never trusted me since, and we've played many games together. austin is always paranoid of my alignment

to the bold, why not?

There's no incentive to. The thread was totally stagnant and he could easily feign interest and activity the way he did before hand. It is less likely that he make up a scum claim, and then work to direct the lynch in such a manner when he could have just sat back and let town die. Only reason to direct a lynch is to misdirect it off a scum fellow, and there wasn't anything building up on anyone to need to go to fake claim land.

I did think about it a little more, and I'm not sure I completely accept what you said. The fact there was no reason for austin to do what he did as scum isn't a reason not to. austin loves 'plays'. What good did austin's power do? We ended up policy lynching kenpachi.

You say that as if it was solely his fault that Kenpachi was lynched. Motivations are separate from results, and I don't think his motivations are scum driven. He carves out three people who cannot be lynched before him, which limits scum mislynch options and also drives lynch focus on himself if any of these three players look suspect. Plus there is the "let's just lynch him to confirm 3 people". All these things greatly diminish scum's ability to play, and the only upside to this whole thing is maybe "town credit" but that's like bussing your teammate before anyone starts suspecting them gives "town credit". The only way his play makes sense is if crossfire99 is scum, since the lynch was wavering and could have snowballed onto him, but I'm finding that austin's consistency / explanations outweigh that.

His curious disappearance during our time of strife was explained by an "internet outage", which could either just be an honest mistake (most likely) or a scum motivated tactic to cause more chaos (less likely).

Regardless, he is definitely a power role of some sort in this game, and should step up and embrace it.

If you were clarity's role, how would you "step up and embrace it"? Who would you swap?

Guh, almost quoted by habit.

I support a Dieno lynch.

Dieno makes observations, not interpretations. It's easy to commentate, but harder to take stances as scum because it's hard to differentiate knowledge and perception. His fixation is on what people think rather than his thoughts on the posts themselves. I can't quote it, but if you look at how he references his maps to justify his votes, there are a couple of inconsistencies. For example, in his initial case of BH he says that his maps indicate a fairly town reputation yet uses maps as evidence for justification for his vote on BH.

Ok I'm gonna be out for a while so here it is:

I've received the Variable-Wave Multispectrum Defrantalizer.

Its description says it is a volatile device (which is why I don't think I should be swapped today) and I have to target someone (either world) by the deadline. I have no clue what it does. As no one has claimed it, it is probably from scum. By the flavor, my guess is that it does something with swaps ... but that's as far as I've gotten.

Yup, just that the flavor suggests it probably has something to with swaps. I doubt it is a vig shot.

Ok then. I propose you wait until the second half of the day to see how Clarity's swap goes, then use it.

Yea, I can change around targets, it just matters what the final target is at deadline.

Yea, I was thinking along those lines. Anyone object / have abilities that might interfere with this?

It says I need to pick a target though. Do you think it could be fake flavor?

I still think it does something with swaps. I just don't see scum giving me an item with loaded KP and expecting me to use it on town. Swaps are more neutral and as seen multiple times by Foolishness, are something scum seem to have more control over.

@yamato
How did darkfire screw us over?

Mementoss should hang tomorrow because his interactions with darkfire and marv are inconsistent and I don't see how they could be from townie perspective.

Mementoss scum flip would clear Risen, Hassybaby and yamato as not scum.

We'll swap Risen-crossfire to reload the KP and just lynch into the remaining GreY players.

Also, does someone have a reload skill? We probably want to use it on Hassy depending on how it works.

Sloosh, I'm not sure how good of an idea is to reload me. Odds are they'll just put it back in the pot and we have to cross our fingers and hope I get Sagittarius

I don't know how your ability works. Do you get to draw out of a pool, and reload would just put saggitarius back into the pool? Of course this is assuming there is even a reload ability. It seems much too powerful to be more than a one shot and no one has claimed it yet.

Oh right.

Either way Mementoss' defense makes no sense from townie perspective. You don't "play townie", superswaps keep roles, you don't need roles to find scum and you don't fearmonger vague scum tactics. Don't think we have to worry about scum majority.

Were players allowed to have votecounts during the day? I know a couple of abilities shifted the results and I don't know if it was intentional that results were revealed late in the day or not.
E.g. Hassy was swapped instead of me that one cycle.

Oh yea, and a Big Thank You to GreYMisT, iGrok and Mr. Wiggles for hosting this game. I know co-hosting can be some work, so I imagine adding two universes and multiple themes and finals / holiday season would be exponentially more work.
