Co-hosting a BH game is the best way to satisfy your co-host requirements to host games =)

End Game
The pieces were finally starting to come together. What had really happened that fateful night at GOM's Mokdong studio, the events that led to the downfall of Sc2 and the ascendance of LoL as the global eSport. The death of Tasteless and Artosis. The fiscal collapse of Activision's investment wing, and subsequent spin-off of Blizzard Entertainment. The tear in the community as people took sides for and against games, as names new and old were bandied about like so many sharpened blades....
He is awake, and his monitor has it all before him: everything he needs to find the truth. At last, nothing can stand before him, because he has cast away his sin-- all of it. The blood on his hands has not been washed away... no, it has become something more and less, it has become a part of him. His baptism into the knowledge stains his hands eternally and dries them of the tears he sheds. His victims, his patients, his pupils, they did not know the knife that drew their blood was sanctified, and that their lives were themselves profane. Their screams are their prayers, their dirges the hymns of the new truth born from the corpse of the beautiful. He goes towards the light.
What are you waiting for? Behold, the horrible sweltering pulchritude of eSports! Open your ears and let the wailings of LoL infest them and the oils of dubstep-ridden streams slather them in the sin of pride! Open your eyes and gaze upon the ravening masses, the glorious holy depravity of hope! Open your heart, and let the blood of the messiah pour through it as your soul excretes itself! Let a thousand nothings absorb you in the never-ending ecstasy of battle-lust!
And when everything is said and done, still looking for answers, if only one, turn your back.
The urge is gone.
Left with no reason, we come undone.

Iamp: why did you concede? I don't see the reason at all.

Also, about me this game-
Sorry if it seemed like a ploy, but I can post circumstancial proof that I trully had a surprise like 2 days of WTF level at work.
http://forum.solidstatesquad.com/index.php?showtopic=8059&viewmember=671&st=120
That's part of a filter in another forum mafia game I am playing in. Notice how I am super active... then have 0 posts Oct 20-22nd. That's cuz I directed every spare second of time I had on those games to this game (granted, I didn't have many spare seconds).
Question @ Z-Boson:
Did you hammer me in part out of a self preservation? I was thinking you were scum because I had dropped hints at a case I was making on pen/papper and getting ready to post when I got home to a comp and you hammered. I took that as a scum tell but, as has been suggested by others to me, it might be a town type self preservation motivation (self preservation is not a auto scum tell in other words).
From the obs quick topic, shortly after I was lynched- My picks for most likely scum at top to most likely town at bottom: z-boson marvellosity (was kinda uncertain till his vote on me) Draz austin iamperfection Hapahauli Keirathi DarthPunk
I feel like the scum team WAY overextended themselves when they voted for me. At the point where I was hammered, I became extremely confident that 2 out of Draz, Marv, Z-Boson were scum. I thought Draz and Marv were incredibly scummy in their behavior especially concerning my lynch and that the hammer by Z-Boson was just bad.
Iamperfection played a fairly decent game as scum through day 1 but still had that vote on me which was just wasteful imo. Might be personal bias there though.
As to the WHY I went inactive-
Im a assitant manager at a very small retail store that normally has 5 total employees including me and my manager. 2 of our employees walked out because another was fired. We went from 5 down to 2 employees in a matter of about 2 minutes lol. The plus side is I now have so much overtime on my next paycheck that I dunno what to do with it.

@ Prom
Oh we had a long conversation over IRC about this an hour ago. Basically there were too many obvious townies. Drazak medic-slipped (like a baws), I was confirmed town, Austin was really strongly townie, and Kei probably as well.
The only viable mislynch option that iamperfection had was DarthPunk... MAYBE Z-Boson, and DP was strongly town to everyone in the game pretty early. Z-Boson as well to several players.
In addition, everyone was pretty much suspicious of iamp, and after his posting on page 53, I was going to insta-vote him if I survived the NK.

Debears. YOu thought the same as me about Draz. WE are either both good or both terrible. You decide. ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)
P.S. Thanks for cheering for me!

No worries v7 - sorry that I got a bit impatient with my vote TT
I don't think anyone doubts you tbh. Scum or town, that's not something I can see someone lying about.

BTW guys, any comments on the setup (both the lynch/deadline setup and the role setup)? This was very different than the normal lynch mechanic TL Mafia uses and I'm wondering how it felt playing it to you guys

I prefer a deadline with a majority lynch with a hammer as well.
Something that reads like this:
Day 1 has begun. With 22 players alive, it takes 12 votes to hammer and 8 votes to make someone a candidate for deadline lynch.
Hammer Activation: 23 Hours, 45 Minutes (Thursday, September 27th at 11:59 PM Eastern) Deadline: 3 Days, 23 Hours, 45 Minutes (Sunday, September 30th at 11:59 PM Eastern)
The way you did it can make for the game to lack that feeling of OMG we must get some shit done NOW. I do like how it makes each vote have a different weight though. Normal simple majority lynch makes it way to easy to hide in a bandwagon imo.

Z-Boson should have been pushed by the scum team imo day 2.
I think that TL mafia forum, because it normally doesn't use hammers, lacks the like horrified OMG (!!!!!) level reaction that a sub optimal hammer vote deserves.
Take this game, if I was scum and Z-Boson hammered when I was claiming to have more to say about every player in the game... you should have let me say more and more so that my flip would provide way more inforamation about relationships between a scum player (me in this example) and the other players. If I was town, like I was, you should give a player more time to post information because he might have some eye opening case or fact to point out.
You should also NEVER hammer in a game that lacks a deadline before the player in question is at least given a chance to claim. What if I had been the doctor and I had not claimed yet because the last time I looked at the thread I had only 3 votes on me. When I checked back later (only about 6 hours) I was dead. That is a very risky move there.
99% of the games I have played in use hammer + deadline and these things are accepted as like commandments.

^ Yeah that probably would have been the best play in hindsight. Alot of it was marv just getting unlucky though - making a case on two blues.

that after his approach to day 1 was a really tough spot to be in.
I personally don't agree with the self hammer but I can also see the gambit that was being attempted. Just not something I would do or want a scum team mate to do.

On the role setup-
I like the interplay of the 4 setups. Alot!
I love the way the boxer role fits in.

promethelax 10-23-2012 09:02 PM ET (US) If they are both town I will go buy a hat, eat said hat and post pictures. (I'm not a lier like VE)
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

From obs qt-
vaderseven- I will eat both of my nuts on camera and post it on youtube if both scum weren't voting for me.

Oh huh that's a really interesting system v7. I'll have to give that a thought.

As we discussed on IRC, I really like the format, though I think it needs a very active player-base to work well. I initially thought it was really town-favored but I'm not so sure anymore. There are a really distinct set of advantages and disadvantages over the more "classic" mechanic.
Advantages: + Really displays the thought processes of players with a more dynamic voting system. + Town can control day-length.
Disadvantages: - The day can end without players taking a stance/voting. - No last-minute lynch scramble can lead to inactivity/apathy, even with active players.
In terms of "optimal strategy" for town, following a policy of "controlled aggression" is probably the best way to go about things. You shouldn't be afraid to throw votes around, but you should be hesitant to hammer. I think Day 1 was good from this perspective - with people overall being patient of v7 (well until the 72 hour mark anyway). Day 2 was a bit more rushed, and I pushed marv's lynch through far too quickly. Fortunately things turned out alright.
As far as suggestions for the future, I'd propose that D1 should operate under a normal system (i.e. 48/72 hour day), and after that the game should move into insta-lynch. As town, it's really easy to get scared and never want to hammer someone D1, since there's generally a lack of lynchable content. After D1, it feels like things get a lot easier and the insta-lynch voting system works great.
